Oh wow wow wow, our favorite place in Zanzibar (and we have been in about 10 different accommodations in Zanzibar). Very stylish, private and comfortable place. The room was big and beautiful, the host was kind and hospitable. Everything is TOP NOTCH!

A private beach meant I could use it alone sometimes. Peaceful and spacious. I loved hearing the sea.
Good live music, breakfast, helpful managers and great trip organisers next four called family safari adventures helped me explore the island.

It's simple and comfortable, I was impressed by their attention to details..

This little peace of paradise is just perfect to relax and chill. The staff are very very kind. The room was very clean, very good shower with hot water all the time, very comfy bed and pillows, just perfect!!
No mosquitos in the room which is perfect. Airco available. They give you mosquito repelant for your body and also for the room (small attentions that really make you feel very well served).
There is a kitchen available where you can prepare whatever you want, and the restaurant is good market. The food is delicious and prices are fair.
They have in the restaurant life music 2 times a week, very good music to chill and relax !!!
We were just happy to be there.
All was good!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. Our host, Magda was very hospitable, attentive and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant doesn't offer a large variety of food but everything we tried was delicious and they have good wine from South Africa at reasonable prices (for Tanzania). Good water pressure for shower and instant hot water. Swimming pool at your door step when it's low tide and water retreats about 500m away.
Tip for staying in room no. Villa 2: Open the small windows in bathroom, leave the bathroom door open when you sleep, for constant air flow (we used the small chair on the verandah as door stopper). We slept so well with natural air.

The villa is simply delightful. I loved the details, the decor and the homely feel. The hosts and staff were very friendly and helpful.
I enjoyed the swimming pool and access to the beach.
All was good, nothing I disliked.

The staff at Villa Lala were amazing - so accommodating and kind.
The villa itself is absolutely exquisite... Each room is decorated and themed differently and the communal spaces are gorgeous and so comfortable. Really nice having your own kitchen and the outdoor/veranda spaces are beautiful too. The house and gardens are meticulously cleaned and maintained every day and the villa is extremely safe.
Only downside was the Kiwengwa beach itself which is very busy with people trying to encourage you to shop in their shops..very hard to walk anywhere without being hassled. We stayed in other parts of Zanzibar and Kiwengwa was definitely the worst for this. The nice thing about villa la la is that you are separate from the beach and the restaurant is also a beautiful place to hang out just down the road!

Great location (directly at the beach, close to supermarkets)
Amazing hospitality by the hosts (organized scooter rentals for us, recommended things to do)
Possibility to use adjacent hotels’ facilities (pool, bar, sun beds, live music on special evenings)
Great roof and ground floor terrace incl a small garden and daily gardening service
Shared kitchen in the apartment
Only minor point: the bed was a little bit too hard for our taste which could be easily fixed with a bigger mattress or a topper

Beautiful, prestine new villa with tasteful decoration. Very friendly and attentive staff, willing to always help and make you feel at home. The food at the sister hotel is also excellent. The shower is also excellent, hot and very strong - a rarity in the island. I really recommend staying at Villa Lala
The room is a bit small, and lacks a chair. Our shower was also not draining properly which meant we could not make full use of the great shower they have there. But everything else was perfect.

The Villa was just on the beachfront. Great and quiet location if you want to chill and relax on the beach. The owners of the hotel are really really nice and helpful people. They helped us soo much on our last day. We are very very thankful for that.
The villa was fully equipped with refrigerator, coffee machine, cutlery etc. There is everything you need.
You can also book any kind of tour with them. Their tours are reliable and of good quality.
One of the evenings, there was also a very nice live music in the restaurant.
Overall we enjoyed our stay so much and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Zanzibar.
We liked everything, there is nothing negative about this place! =)

My wife and me spent the last week of our honeymoon at Villa Laura/Poa Poa Bungalows, and it was truly amazing.
Staff:
Laura, the owner, her business partner Magda and the General Manager Mirembe were one of the friendliest and mosthelpful people we ever met, and we travel a lot.
All their recommendations were great and they created such a nice atmosphere for all their guests. Absolutely lovely and great people!
At breakfast each morning Christina, a super sweet waitress, took care of us and was also one of the nicest persons ever
Location/Hotel
Beautifully located directly at the beach. Greatly, they take care of the beach and remove the Seaweed (which many hotels dont do). The whole place is taken great care off.
Very clean and big rooms.
The restaurant area is absolutely stunning and fits perfectly in the whole surrounding. With small and decent attributes the hotel creates a cozy, natural, beachy atmosphere.
Food:
They have a great chef. We absolutely enjoyed the delicious seafood platter.
Each day a very nice and fresh breakfast with the best Avocadocream ever and fresh fruit juices :)
Overall:
We absolutely recommend staying at Villa Laura / Poa Poa Bungalows. The price - performance-ratio is more than fair and generally you will not regert staying in this beautiful place.

I love the interior of the house each room has a diffrent design and each of them is so cute.Living room and outside sitting space is so specious and relaxing so you can enjoy your time with a glass of wine and book. Wi-fi is strong so during rain had plenty of time to watch Netflix. Good choice of breakfast and amazing staff. Definitely recommend this place to everyone, even if you travel as a group it would be perfect house to stay 👌Close to villa is really good restaurant which I also recommend, if you not fan of spending time in the kitchen during holiday😉

I liked the property and the room. Small but cozy and in good conditions.
Also, as they didnt have anyone checking in our room the day we were leaving, they let us stay until 2Pm which we really appreciated.
There were a few things i didnt like considering the value for money such us:
- You dont get the room done everyday. We stayed for two nights and the secind day, no one cleaned the room or even made the bed. As no one informed me in advance, i asked them if anyone would make it at some opint and they said no; that thats like a house and that the room doesnt get cleaned everyday. A bit weird when you pay 100$ per night.
- At breakfast, the waitress wasnt very friendly. On top of that, they make you chose between eggs (plain, just eggs) or yogurt, but you cant get both. Also the fact that the husband of the owner is seating on the table whilst you have breakfast doesnt make it too confortable as anything I would ask felt like it was a hassel for him. Very poor breakfast and very poor options.
Also, in their booking page, there is a sunset picture and the thing is that there is no sunset in Kiwenga which we ahould have checked in advance, but because of the sunset picture we went for it and booked it and, when we got there, there was no sunset.

Nice place, good value for money and overall experience was great.

The staff and the host are very welcoming and helpful. The villa is tastefully decorated, everything is impeccably clean, the room cleaning is spotless and done in a timely manner. The location couldn't be better.
Breakfast is rich and tasty but during our 10-days long stay, the menu was identical every day. The villa is often used by the family of the host during the day, hence sometimes it gets a bit crowdy. The wifi is poor.
