Highly recommend this for the experience even if just spending the night. But if you have time go sailing with the hosts! Corrado and his wife Claudia were amazing and so helpful. Their suggestion to visit Porto Venere about 20 km from La Spezia was priceless. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was perfection from beginning to end. Our host showed us around the boat and was very easy to work with. We spent a lovely night on board and then rented the same vessel for a cruise to the Cinque Terre where we ate, drank, enjoyed company and sites. We also made several stops to swim in the med, even snorkel. If we return we would do this all again!

It was was we expected, very nice, very clean, very quiet and the 5 of us slept well. Our only issue was not the property owners fault. My wife and I are 73 and not very tall so getting in and out of bed was a little bit of a problem for us. The owners brought us a great breakfast and helped us get a taxi when we had to go to the train station. Great time had by all of us.

Friendly hosts who made my stay comfortable. Brought croissant and made fresh coffee on the boat daily. Also very helpful with local tips and navigating to train and boat departures. A small cozy space away from the center of town noise but close enough to walk in minutes.

fabulous experience
Loved our stay. The ride up the coast was amazing. We had a little difficulty meeting up as we were unsure of which gas station we were to be at and also it would have been nice to know their car is brown -- easy to spot! And there was some difficulty with port authorities as we didn't have registration papers, but after a little conversation all was resolved. Our hosts were welcoming and we were so glad to have had that opportunity

A great alternative
We had a great experience with Corrado and Claudia on their boat in La Spezia. We wanted something different and staying on the yacht for 2 nights was just what we expected. Not for everyone but it provided a different approach to the standard accommodation. The only issue that created concern was the check in - where to meet and further details would have helped and even a phone number as we had to meet in the marina and this is a gated secure environment.
Otherwise if you want something different then we would recommend staying on a yacht in the marina as a great alternative.
Lovely breakfast provided on the yacht each morning.
Walking distance to central La Spezia and great restaurants.

Sailboat with great owner and skipper
My family and I had a great time and we really enjoyed staying on the boat, supplemented the following day with a trip along the coast. Communications were excellent and the skipper during our outing was very cordial and friendly. This was a great experience I would recommend it to anyone.

highlight of our Italy trip
Beautiful boat in a gorgeous marina. The owners made check in a breeze, the kids loved spending the night on the boat. We sailed the next morning to Cinque Terre and the sights were amazing. Breakfast and lunch were provided and delicious. We will do this trip again and highly recommend it.

Unique Experience
Due to mechanical problems, we were unable to stay on the sailing boat but Corrado arranged for an alternate "yacht" for us to stay on which turned out to be a great blessing. Italy was experiencing a heat wave and the yacht he provided to us was spacious and air conditioned. He and his wife Claudia were attentive to our needs and easy to work with. He arranged for us to take a day trip by water taxi to Porto Venere, a small seaside town a short distance away. If you have time, we highly recommend it. Take the time to hike up the hill to the monastery and enjoy the cool breezes and ocean view as well as explore the back streets of this beautiful Italian town. Less crowded than the other Cinque Terre cities. Truly a hidden gem. Wish we had set aside more time for the day trip. Corrados son also has a restaurant in town called Pepe Nero's which we would also highly recommend.

Amazing two days in La Spezia
Confortable sail boat berthed in a fantastic Marina. The owners very helpful and the skipper who took us sailing was excellent. Only negative note was that we were rushed out of the boat on the last day as they had rented it starting at 10 am. Not very professional on part of the owners.

Unique way to stay in Cinque Terre
Without all the hustle and bustle of the sea side town, we were able to have a unique experience being rocked to sleep on the sailboat. They were 4 bedrooms, a very clean bathroom, and ample space when the owners brought and cooked us breakfast in the morning. We were fortunate to go on the sailboat ride to see Cinque Terre during the day, so this was a perfect ending to the day. I highly recommend this unique experience. and if you are looking for a larger bathroom to get ready in the morning the Marina has excellent services available at no extra cost with showers and hair dryers. I think that we hit a homerun with this experience and overnight stay.

We slept on the boat and spent a day at sea... awesome! Truly unique experience. Easy to find and navigate all the quirks of staying on a boat. Corrado and his wife are lovely hosts.

A Different Experience!
Great location in the marina. Quiet at night. Do not walk from the train station - take a taxi. Hosts were wonderful.

Awesome and different experience!!
We went through Corrado and booked the boat for a whole day sailing and night on board, however Mother Nature had other plans. Due to massive rains we weren't able to sail, however it was still an awesome experience hanging out on the boat, eating and drinking and then staying on board. Corrado was super easy to work with and didn't charge us for the day we had booked to sail. Would definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to do something a little different from a "regular" place to stay.

Fantastico! Beautiful boat. Corrado is an excelleltnt host! would definitely recommend.
We had a fanastic time in La Spezia. Corrado' friend and his wife were our captain and first mate for the day. They took care of everything, and were very knowledgable about the area. The boat is large and very accommodating. Sleeping quarters are a bit cramped but that is to be expected on a boat. The wind was not good so we motored to all Cinque Terre, the view from the water was magnificent. We stopped at the last village for a swim and a fully catered lunch with fresh pasta and seafood. On the way back to the marina Vito, our captain stopped and dove to catch some fresh sea urchin which we ate off the back of the boat.... amazing! We felt very safe and were in good hands. Corrado met us back at the marina to make sure we were setup for the night, he even bought us a fan as it was very hot, which made sleeping much more comfortable. The showers and washrooms at the marina were good. The next morning Corrado came and made us fresh coffee and breakfast. Overall an excellent experience. We highly recommend to pay the extra for sailing. It is well worth it! All wine, beer and spirits were included, as well as lunch and breakfast obviously. Thanks Corrado! Hopefully we can do it again

Great alternative to a hotel and beautiful day on the sea
Staying on the sailboat at the marina was a great experience. Corrado and his wife came and picked us up at the train station and brought us to the boat. They came each morning and made us breakfast and brought supplies. We stayed two nights and the day in between we wanted to charter the boat for the day to see the 5 towns. (An additional charge but very reasonable!!!) We had the boat completely to ourselves - no other guests. Our Skipper was so kind and a great cook!! He spoke English well and gave us information on the towns, area, and culture all day. We stopped for a swim in the beautiful ocean and then our skipper cooked us a lunch of shrimp, pesto and pasta as well as enjoyed wine and lemoncello. We then continued on and saw the remaining towns (all by sea - we did not go to port at any of the towns). The view was spectacular and seeing the towns from the sea was our best choice as we got to relax and night fight crowds. The town is also very accessible from the marina and we walked there for dinner each night with many great dining options.
The boat has a bathroom and shower option but we accessed the marina for a shower as it was much more comfortable. There are 4 bedrooms but when you book the boat for a night you do not have other guests with you. (Important to note as some other boats - reviews mentioned having other guests aboard. That is NOT the case here - you have the boat to yourselves.) We would highly recommend this as an addition to your holiday!!!
