If you like to enter a house where the time stood still 50+ years, definitely consider booking this. Waking up feels like waking up at your grandparents while staying over when you were young... Very large house when you are with only two people. Comfortable with all you need, although sometimes more modern appliances came along and you are used to those. Very cosy ambiance!
Finish of the house could be better.. Even though it's old it could really use some paint etc..

The location of the house and the view out of its living room was awesome. The host was responsive and left the key on the door as we arrived way too late. The beds were comfy and they provided enough pillows and comforters. Over everything, the view was the thing that could make up for the lack.
Besides the positives, the house itself feels pretty old. Provided amenities were not enough and the insulation of the house will be a bit of a concern in colder weather. The kitchen was not well-equipped and also towels were not provided.

The house has its own spirit and I love it. We needed a roof above our head after a rainy night and this was a shelter from heaven for us. It was super convenient to have a whole house at our disposal. It's a super value.
As mentioned in other comments, the stairs to a basement bathroom do look kind of spooky, but that's the fun. My only complaint would be that I have a suspicion there were bef bugs in the mattresses.

The size of the house was good and the living room was nice.
The house is pretty scary, especially the basement shower. There were also a lot of things from previous visiters.

2-storey wooden house with additional shower and toilet in the basement. Amazing view to the water and mountains. The feeling that you are in a chalet somewhere in the mountains of Switzerland :) On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen (there is a microwave, which is a rarity elsewhere), a living room with a TV (but with THAT view it is not necessary) and dining room. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms. The house is comfortable for 2 families to stay. Very cozy feeling. Wanted to stay longer... 1 car can be conveniently parked near the house.

They can improve by changing the bed mattresses.
they aren’t so comfy

Really nice location, fantastic view and we liked the old furniture (really stylish, almost like time-traveling). We really appreciated it that the heating was turned on, so it was cozy and warm inside.
The original kitchen-top was rather low and the toilet on the first floor could use a renovation. New shower is in the basement, accessible only by really small stairs. Mattresses should be renewed.

Privacy, location, view from window. Value for money!
It's an old house not a hotel

Very spacious house in Norwegian natural fashioned style with very nice view (lake and mountains). We enjoyed it. Dining and living room was very cozy. The bed rooms and bathrooms are not for ladies (fortunately we were only men's group), could get some renovation or new mattresses. We stayed here for overnight. A whole house for the best price ever! Highly recommended. Good communication with the owner.
The bathroom on the ground floor waits for its renovation. But there is a second clean bathroom in the basement.

The property oozes charm and history, in a great location. The facilities were what we needed for a one-night stay. Beautiful view over Røldalsvatnet.

- View on the lake
- Everything is old and some of the furniture (couch, matresses) should be replaced
- Bath room in main floor is clean, but looks quite used
