Clean & tidy room, just right for a couple.
I liked it all, nothing to dislike

Overall really enjoyed our stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and Dinner were great. Nobody had any negative comments about the quality of the food. As a group of 10 adults at meal time we were all able to sit together and food was served at the same time. Rooms were clean although a little small (this is a 17th century coaching Inn!). Great location in Castleton near to Caverns and Walks.

Room comfortable, did not have breakfast or dinner in hotel.

Staff were very accommodating and friendly, breakfast and evening meals were exceptional, and the choice of real ales was excellent. Definitely would stay again!

The bedroom was lovely and spacious with a large sled style bed. The bathroom had a beautiful show and was a good size.
Our room was next door to the actual pub, accessed from outside. It was very noisy with the traffic from the main road. You could also hear every time someone turned on a tap in the room above and their footsteps as they walked across their room.
There was a lot of noise coming from the passage next to the room early in the morning as well.

Location was spot on. Very clean. Breakfast was very good. Main bar was great warm and friendly staff. Free parking opposite.
Room was a bit out dated plus it just had a sky light window so no outlook. But ideal just to get your head down.
4.2
Location was good, bed was comfortable but the room was small and shower wasn’t that modern.
Small room, small shower and price of spirits
4.2
Breakfast, staff and location were all excellent
Not sure that anything could be done about it, but the room I had was quite dark because its window was very near adjacent building’s wall

Food excellent breakfast excellent
Can not think of anything thing at all

Castleton is a very pretty village in the heart of the peaks. Lots of pubs to choose from. Menus very similar and we ate at three and thought Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese was top. The room was comfortable and we slept well.
The loo seat was broken when we arrived. We reorted it but it wasn't fixed.

Excellent breakfast, comfy room, nice friendly place. Slight trip hazard into room and also bathroom.
Highlighting the two steps - into room and bathroom

Every think was good . Breakfast was good. Evening meal was good. Good menu. Sunday Lunch was good.
The bedroom was nice.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Good parking just a cross the road.
And it was very busy because it was Easter , the weather was good as well.
It’s a lovely place to visit.
Nothing.

The friendly staff and nice foood.
The shower was hit and miss, it was either scolding hot or freezing.
The bed wasn't very comfy.
4.2
The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Room 7 was beautifully furnished, however, its position on the road made it very noisy and therefore difficult to sleep at night.
4.2
Location was very good with good parking facilities.
Mattress in room 5 desperately needs replacing.
The food was poor. I heard the same excuse of “sorry we haven’t any of that, it’s on its way, we’re just waiting for delivery” at breakfast each morning which severely limited the cooked choice from the Menu. Veggie Cauliflower evening meal was desperately overcooked. Thank goodness I had a portion of chips as side! Didn’t bother with evening meal after that.

Good location for hikes, friendly staff, our king suite was self-contained with its own entrance and a key
The towels looked yellowish, probably from so many washes.O
ur room was right next to the road - we could hear the cars passing by. The breakfast is served only from 8:30 am onwards - if you plan to start hiking early in the morning, you might not be able to catch the breakfast hours.

Gorgeous & cosy place to stay. Amazing service & the food was delicious. Separate dining area or you can eat in the pub side too. Free parking opposite. Lovely open fire. Dog friendly. Central location to all pubs, shops & attractions. We will definitely return. Totally recommend.

The staff here are amazing and made my NYE trip something to remember. The food is excellent. Great location for walking and the pub has a private car park just over the road. Great memories. I would highly recommend and I will definitely be back soon
