It was a very well equipped home from home. The beds were really comfy, the living room was cosy, the kitchen had everything we were looking for and we were delighted to find an apple tree in the front garden with a table and chairs for breakfast outside. The scenery out the windows was picturesque and a fab little park was 5 minutes along the road. We even found a book swap inside an old phone box. It’s like a little house from a story, just perfect.
We didn’t realise the stairs were quite so steep but it didn’t have an effect on our ability to use them safely.

Very cosy cottage in a lovely village. Inn/restaurant a few doors away and village shop in next village a few minutes by car. ideal for touring North Yorkshire and visiting beautiful City of York
Stairs are steep but not a problem if you are careful. Apart from that nothing else

location was ok, the local restaurant was a little disappointing

Beautiful cottage, so cosy and welcoming. Lovely quiet location for us to base ourselves meeting friends and family in Leeds & York.
We didn't like leaving. So much so that we managed to extend our stay by a couple of days, thanks Gary & Lucy!!

My partner and I booked a little break away before Christmas for our 14 month boy & 2 dogs. The cottage was perfect for a break away. We arrived to be welcomed to a Christmas tree and a decorated living room. The cottage had everything we needed and was spacious for us all, the main bedroom easily fitted a travel cot into the room. We had an evening meal at the Bluebell which was nice and went out on walks in the local area. The bus into York was easy to catch outside the Bluebell.
Everything was perfect

We arrived in the dark. Couldn't find the cottage - asked in the local pub and they had never heard of it. My daughter eventually found it using the light on her phone. Signage could have been better. Inside it was clean, but there was nothing to tell us how anything worked. Received an email the day after we returned telling us where to find booklets about how to work the microwave etc. Not much good to us! Why wasn't it sent before we went?
We were asked to be quiet which we were. The neighbours however seemed to spend their evenings running up and down the stairs and slamming doors!

Lovely quiet place, no shops near by is my only gripe

Spotless clean cottage in a perfect location. We visited Knaresborough and Harrogate which were both 30 minutes drive.
TV has netflix which my 2 teenagers appreciated! Lovely garden for our little dog to enjoy.
Very comfortable beds, we all enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep.
We ate at the Bluebell Inn a few doors down from the cottage. Delicious food and G&T!
Excellent communication form Gary (the owner) We will most definitely return.

This beautiful cottage is in such a wonderful location. The village is pure escapism from the hustle and bustle of life. The cottage was spotless, VERY well equipped and was the perfect base for us a a family (children aged 8 months and 4 years). The WiFi was super fast, and the TV was better than we have at home with the range of channels. We loved the fact it was connected to the WiFi so we could stream YouTube too! We couldn’t have been anymore happy with our stay, and the communication from the owners was the best we’ve ever experienced.

Lovely qaint village
Lovely friendly villagers.
Lovely walks
Peace and quiet
A secure and safe garden for the pooch.
Lovely decorated attic room for the teenager with an electric socket and WiFi for her always needed mobile
The owner popped round to check we were ok. Very pleasant guy. Details left should we need to contact them for anything.
My bed was really comfortable. I'm sure it would have been a lovely sleep if only our pup would've let me sleep!
Packing up and leaving!

Clean. Main bedroom. Bathroom.
Stairs far too steep nearly didn't stay. Top floor bedroom beds are toddler beds but you could not safely put children up there. We heard lots of noise from next door and creaking. No parking at all had to park along the road. No facilities in village and pub was extortionate and food poor.
4.5
Very convenient to York and family. Clean and comfortable

Quiet area...Good facilities nice and homey
