About this house rental
This accommodation is newly created in a 400-year-old large village house and retains some lovely period features such as high ceiling, panelled doors and chandeliers. It provides comfort such as a super king size bed, a rain head shower, aircon, tv/dvd, open wood burning stove, complimentary bath products, Roberts revival internet radio, WIFI, ensuite, separate kitchen/diner and a sunny terrace with lovely views to the village over an orange grove. We had an amazing stay at this property in Fornalutx! It was perfect for our stay and we enjoyed cooking a few meals ourselves in the kitchen when not enjoying eating out in a couple of delicious restaurants in the beautiful village. We very much enjoyed relaxing on the little terrace after spending our days exploring and walking around the area and beyond. Loved walking to Soller and taking the tram to the port. Also really loved walking the other side of the valley to Biniaraix. The region is absolutely beautiful and the accommodation was spectacular. We hope to return again! Thanks so much Julie and Neil for the wonderful stay!!

What an incredibly wonderful & refreshing stay we had at Neil’s lovely place in one of the most beautiful villages we have ever been to! From the start, Neil’s communication was really helpful. We were so glad we got to meet him in person as well! Such a kind guy. His place in Fornalutx is amazing! It was easy to find, extremely clean and really well thought out. The kitchen & patio are stunning w/ lots of character, & the view is just amazing! We loved sitting out on the balcony with a cold drink & snacks post hike! The main room is so spacious, & we really appreciated the extra drawers & hangers for our things. The bed is extremely comfortable; we slept so well! Since it was January, we got to use the fireplace, which made it all extra cozy! The shower felt so nice as well. We absolutely adored the space, & this is one of those spots that you immediately feel “at home” in. And Fornalutx! Just stunning! The orange trees & mountain views & friendliness of the people blew us away. It was so nice to walk to the bakery, grocery & tapas bar from this apartment. It’s also a great base to hike or go to the coast. The hike to Soller is only an hour & makes a great morning activity. Neil’s tips on parking for the apt were so helpful since we had never been; we parked in the large lot across from the pizza place, & it was super easy & a quick walk down to his place. I could continue on about how wonderful everything was but will just say thank you Neil & Fornalutx! We will return!

This beautiful apartment is tucked away in a historic mountain town. The accommodations were very comfortable and the flat was equipped with all the essentials + a beach mat and umbrella. There are lots of cute restaurants nearby (many with beautiful views), and it served as a good home base for me to explore the island by car. FYI, this town (and many others) has very narrow roads, so I’d rent the smallest car possible. I can’t imagine going to Mallorca and not staying in the mountains now that I’ve seen how beautiful it is! The area is positively breathtaking.

This is a wonderful location and Neil's house is very comfortable. A nice collection of welcome goodies in the kitchen and fridge allowed us to settle right in without visiting the store first. The signed copy of Neil's book was a treat. We hope to visit again.

We just spent four nights at this little slice of paradise in Fornalutx. I can't recommend enough! The accommodations and host were so lovely! My favorite activity was relaxing on the porch with a glass of wine, plate of olives and the beauty of the mountains and orange groves surrounding you.
The roads are tiny so I do recommend a small car to navigate this gorgeous part of the island.

The apartment was cozy with comfortable furnishings. Kitchen was used everyday- so nice to have! Easy walking to several restaurants and food shops. Driving around this area is NUTS! So smallest car possible with full insurance!!! Believe me you will need it! Host Neil was there for us in a moments notice. All good!

A lovely romantic property with stunning views is correct. Neil was a perfect host - very helpful in providing advice. Enjoyed his books. The property is a few minutes walk from the centre of the pretiest village in Mallorca. A magnificent place!
We really enjoyed our stay and Neil’s and Julie’s place. The apartment itself is gorgeous, with everything one might need. It has a little terrace with a spectacular view, overlooking the mountains. The check-in and check-out was very smooth and they were also incredibly quick and helpful with all the questions we had. Moreover, they prepared a very generous welcome package, which was unlike anything we’d seen in other places. Fornalutx is a beautiful place, so we strongly recommend visiting it and staying at Neil and Julie!

Ideal para un fin de semana en pareja. Lo mejor la chimenea, aunque todo lo demás con un gran nivel. Ubicación perfecta si te gusta el relax y la montaña.

Spacious apartment with fantastic view.
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful village. We had a great welcome from Julie and Neil and appreciated all the little extras provided including Neil’s detective novel set in Fornalutx. We loved the view of the mountains from the kitchen and balcony.

Gorgeous place on a quiet street, parking across street or nearby
We loved our stay and it is just as beautiful as the pictures portray. Julie and Neil were the perfect hosts. Quiet and gracious and nearby if we had questions. They were kind enough to give us a copy of Under the Mallorcan Sky, written by Neil and a must read when visiting. It's a mystery travelogue and really fills a visitor (especially a first time visiter to Mallorca) in on the culture and history of Mallorca through the eyes of an expat.
We loved the balcony off the kitchen and our hosts provided niceties in the kitchen. Thanks again. We love Fornalutx - a trip of a lifetime for us west coast USA travelers.

Relaxing oasis
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Majorca. The appartment was very comfortable and a joy to return to after a day of sight seeing. Beautiful scenery. Neil and Julie were great hosts.

liebe Vermieter, eine schöne Wohnung - liebevoll eingerichtet, Hauptzimmer wenig Tageslicht - im Sommer bestimmt von Vorteil.
Schöne kleine Terrasse mit viel Sonne vom Mittag bis zum Abend. Eine Liege fehlt zum Glück.
Küche müsste sauberer sein - eine intensive Grundreinigung notwendig.
Ansonsten alles in allem eine gute Wahl

The best place in the best mountain village
We had a great stay with Neil and Julie. The flat was perfect with all the equipment you could ask for and beautiful decorated. We enjoyed sitting on the terrase enjoying a nice breakfast cooked in the romantic kitchen. Simply fantastic and we will be back for sure. Thank you Neil and Julie

schön aber mit fehlern
die Wohnung ist keine 75 m 2 groß , leider sehr dunkel ,, die Küche ist renovierunngsbedürfig , der Backofen nicht sauber, die fugen zwischen den einzelnen Elementen müssten erneuert werden , Geschirr ist da aber was kostet bei Ikea ein Parr Tassen mehr, in der Toilette muss die bürste gewechselt werden, der Wasserhahn zum Zähneputzen sehr sparsam , die Waschmaschine ist auch nicht sauber, habe diese bei Kochwäsche zunächst gereinigt, schade eigentlich das man das nicht hinbekommt auf die Kleinigkeiten zu achten. Die Aussicht ist sehr schön und ein Fahrkünstler muss man sein , wenn man überhaupt einen Parkplatz am Haus bekommt . Wir waren schon an vielen orten der Welt leider stimmte hier Preisleistungsverhältnis nicht. sorry aber ich bin ehrlich

a great apartment, but....
A really lovely apartment, in a beautiful spot. Our only criticism is that we felt that the kitchen was not very well equipped...e.g. We felt the roasting tray was unusable, and there wasn't really anything that would go in the oven. Admittedly we probably cook more than others when we're self catering.
But apart from that we would certainly be happy with a 5 star rating.

Amazing little gem in beautiful Fortnalutx
IF you are looking for a calm, relaxing place to chill, cook, take long walks, watch DVD's, light the fireplace or the bbq you have found the right place to stay. Julie and Neil are great hosts, very friendly and will do anything to make you feel at home.
