Built in 1929 and restored over the last two years to its original grandeur, the home is one of the most outstanding properties on the island. It has three floors, each providing panoramic views of Samos/Vathi town and harbour and totals 180m² of living space, with an additional 60 m² roof top.
Located just metres from the central pedestrian shopping mall and the main town square, and a 20 short walk to Gaggou Beach the luxury home offers all of the convenience of town living from a secluded and quiet position.
The property comprises a formal and an informal living area, separate dining room and kitchen – all as originally configured but totally updated. There are three double bedrooms, and a study/fourth bedroom. There are two bathrooms (main with large shower) as well as a toilet area on the rooftop. All rooms have stunning views over the port, town or surrounding mountains and capture all the summer breezes, while the master bedroom has a private wrap around balcony.
Fully Renovated Traditional Home: The house is a traditional up-market house, nearly 100 years old. It could not be better located for anyone interested in staying in Samos/Vathi - close to everything but in a quiet secluded area.
It is made of local stone - the outer walls are 80cm thick and internal ceilings are 3.5 metres high. The renovation completed in 2008 included new plumbing, electrical re-wiring, replacement of light fittings, laying new floor coverings and installation of central heating and solar hot-water. There is a water pump that ensures good water pressure in every part of the house - including the large upstairs shower room.
The original wooden windows and shutters have been repaired and repainted and the front door replaced by a hand made replica of the original. The house has been re-painted inside and out in the traditional style of the house. Facing towards the harbour, the house is always cool and receives refreshing breezes in almost all weather conditions.

Large house with 3 large bedrooms, but only 2 bedrooms have air conditioning. Rest of house is not air conditioned.
Rooftop area is excellent, beautiful view. Very central location in Vathy town, near main square.
Contact with host and checkin were great.
There is a toilet on each of the three floors.
Toilet on bottom floor has small handheld shower, really only useful to rinse your feet off from beach.
First floor has main bathroom with bath tub and shower.
Second floor has toilet only.
Some of the lights were not working during our stay, and we had to get new batteries for the AC and TV remotes. Also, the TV wiring wasn’t connected up, but we managed to figure it out and get it working (only 1 TV in house).
The listing says it’s renovated, but we thought it really needs a bit more work.
Overall, it was reasonably comfortable and the view on rooftop compensated for some of the other points.

I live my dream
A well located spacious house with a spectacular view overlooking the old town and the harbor of Samos from a beautiful large roof top. The rooms are clean and the bathroom fulfills all your needs. The owner of this lovely house was pretty involved in giving us a hand where ever we need. The lunch we had together in a typical fish restaurant was very delicious.
Finally if you want to have a great time , go to
Samos : )

Steven's house, which he has lovingly restored, is a wonderful place for a family vacation. We were seven adults and a 6-month old child. We all fit comfortably and enjoyed the spaciousness and wonderful airiness of the rooms. Air conditioning in the two main bedrooms provided excellent cooling. The other two bedrooms (one a "library") were just fine although they only had portable fans. It was unusually hot for June when we were there, so additional AC would have been welcome, but the breezes from the north provided ample comfort.
There is a marvelous rooftop veranda with lots of room (and a second refrigerator nearby). We found ourselves ever assembling roofward!
The kitchen is amply outfitted for home cooking. There are three toilets to accommodate a crowd. For a family our size, we could have used a second shower, but really we are not complaining.
Steven, our host, was ready to accommodate if problems arose, but we really never had any.
We parked our car a block away, and it is a five-minute walk to the town square with restaurants, boutiques and specialty food stores, so we felt almost like locals.
The museum with the famous kouros is also only a five-minute walk, ferries 10-15 minutes, and it's easy to get on the road and traverse Samos island.
The only downside is that the house is really not built or situated to accommodate anyone who has difficulty with stairs -- there are many both inside and outside. But a marvelous accommodation for anyone seeking to live among the residents of a typical Greek village.
High recommendation from us.

My wife and i decided to begin retirement with one year in Samos ,we contacted Steven and arranged 11 month occupancy, the house is huge about 1200 sq ft on each floor and the two levels have four bedrooms and two bathrooms ,it is conveniently located just a block from a commercial street and two blocks from the main square
But the most amazing thing about the house is the rooftop, it has 180 degree view of Samos harbour, vathi town, ferry terminal and open Aegean to the north
The rooftop also has a bonus room for overflow guests and a third bathroom ,If you rent this house you will enjoy just spending time up on the rooftop enjoying the spectacular views

The house is a grand home of immense proportions beautifully restored to its original character. Every room was well equipped offering wonderful views from each window. The terrace was breathtaking with 180 degree views of the whole of the Vathi Bay and town. We could not have asked for more. Within a few steps from the main town, the convenience was great.
Also I want to thank John who came to greet us at the port and bring us to our car and to the home. He was a gentleman even providing us a few groceries items in the house to make a head start.
My family and I had a wonderful stay and we will definitely be considering taking it up again.

Dear Steven
We had a wonderful week staying in your house in Samos. The town itself provided the perfect base to explore Vathy and some of the surrounding areas. Loved being able to buy fresh local produce from the nearby market, eggs and fruit for breakfast. We had some super meals out in the town which were very memorable. The island is totally genuine, friendly and safe. As for the house, it was a such a quiet and restful place to stay with all the comforts of home which you rarely find with holiday rents. So much has been considered for the benefit of those staying there. It is a beautiful house, really spacious, comfortable and clean with the character and original features of a period house which we truly appreciate. The roof terrace was superb - the views !The location was so convenient for the cafe's, supermarket, restaurants, museum ( which was excellent) and shops. We had wonderful weather with was an added bonus.
We would loved to return to Samos another time and hire your house again if it were available.
Thank you so much.

This is a beautiful house in a good location in Vathy close to shops and restaurants and well set up for self catering. All the bedrooms were lovely with views, a joy to stay in. Lots of space to chill out in including the fabulous roof patio overlooking the town....great for sun worshipers. The owner was fantastic and couldn't do enough for us from the first contact 6 months before....he made our stay very easy. We hired a car and saw quite a lot of Samos and used the owner's crib sheet to chose towns and restaurants to visit very successfully. The car allowed us to spend our days exploring and sunning and swimming at beaches a short drive from town.
I would certainly recommend this house for a great stay on Samos. If this house is unavailable the owner has another house out of town with just as much loving attention given to it. We were very lucky to find this house and its very helpful owner.

My sisters and I were welcomed at Samos Airport by John our
Property Manager who organised our baggage and escorted our Taxi into Vathis - an unexpected service but most appreciated.
Our first impression of our magnificent home for the next 2 weeks was of complete awe and stepping inside the ornate front doors did not disappoint. The home which has been restored in all its former glory is very well appointed with every luxury at your fingertips. From the kitchen(a woman's delight) to the laundry through to the bedrooms and beautifully renovated bathroom - my favourite amenity being the immense shower recess. Most importantly the beds were very comfortable with quality linen and towelling. But for us the "Icing on the Cake" was the Rooftop Entertaining Deck partly covered with comfortable lounges and dining setting and equipped with kitchenette and toilet. We spent many a balmy evening sipping champagne and cocktails admiring the stunning views across the town and Samos Bay up into the mountains and experiencing the beautiful sunsets.
Situated in a Pedestrian only area a short stroll down the steps leads you through cobbled streets and into the town centre with unique tavernas and shops tucked away in every lane-way a shopper's delight! Many a morning was spent in the town square overlooking the Bay sipping coffee and planning our day.. the owner provided a great synopsis of the Island which guided us to the best attractions and fabulous Tavernas from secluded beachfronts up into the mountains. The authentic Greek food is to die for and very cheap as are the local wines which are free of preservatives. Samos is a beautiful green island with secluded beaches, lush rain forests and intriguing villages. The churches and Monastrys are well worth visiting. Ferries leave daily from Samos to Turkey and the other Islands.
The hospitality of the Greek people on Samos has left a lasting impression. They are very warm and friendly and made our stay so much more pleasurable. We are returning next year and can’t wait to return to our “Home away from Home” with all it’s old world charm and warmth so much more than just a holiday house.

From being picked up at the airport by John, our wonderful Customer Service Property Manager our holiday in Vathi was made memorable by us staying in this beautiful home. There were panoramic views of the harbour from the bedroom floors and a spectacular rooftop entertainment area watching the beautiful sunset with a cocktail in hand. It was quiet yet situated right next to the heart of Vathi with many restaurants and coffee shops. Our favorite Restaurant being THE STEPS. The home had every facility imaginable and has been tastefully and beautifully restored. Samos is a big beautiful green Island, so by hiring a car with ample parking close by we able to explore the beautiful mountains and amazing beaches.
It was all the Website claimed and much more

Suuntaisimmekohan matkamme sinne seuraavaksi..?

Tolles Haus mitten in Samos Stadt

Perfect for Us
This home was an ideal base for our 10 day stay in Samos. The descriptions and photos were everything and more than we were expecting. Great location, well renovated with traditional features retained in a pedestrian only area very close to the town square. Parking was not a problem. We were an extended family of 6 which included teenagers and we all loved it. The owners provided us with very good local information and they were very prompt with communications.

Toller Urlaub

Great location
We loved this house. It has a wonderful feel, great amenities and is bright and airy as described in the description. Being located close to the town square, makes one feel part of the community. It was well suited to our group of 5 with bedrooms located on 2 levels, a formal living room, separate dining room and great rooftop area with comfortable lounges, allowing us personal space. Sundowners on the rooftop were enjoyed every evening with stunning sunsets over the town and harbour with the Mediterranean in the background, there is even a fridge on the rooftop.
The house has recently been tastefully restored with all the rooms freshly painted. The kitchen has all the equipment that is need to whip up some gourmet Greek food. There is a modern flat screen TV that wasn’t used much as there is always so much to see and do.
The owners, Jodie and Steve were very accommodating and helpful. Everything was organised with the keys being available on our arrival with heaps of useful information about the island, the restaurants, the town and people.
We would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a break from the usual busy tourist locations. We felt that we became part of the local town community with the school one block away, the town square an easy walk through pedestrian lanes where the local people socialise drinking coffee in the evenings, a fresh food market open every weekday and the fishing jetty that sells fresh fish within 5 minutes walk. We cooked our own meals sometimes; however the local restaurants within easy walking distance on the waterfront and in the pedestrian lane ways all served great fresh Greek cuisine. We tried in vain to visit the local museum; it was always closed even when it was supposed to be open during the advertised time.
In order to experience the whole island, it is definitely worth hiring a car for a few days to visit places like Pythagorio and the tunnels also The Temple of Hera at Ireon. Manolates is a wonderful mountain village. Kokkari is a busy tourist beachside town with a great beach and we would highly recommend the whole grilled fish at Meltemi Restaurant.
It is a great stepping off point to visit Ephesus in Turkey, which is well worth the visit.
