We had an amazing week here. The pool is fabulous and the accommodation spacious and well equipped. It is easy to get to some of the lovely sites of the Dordogne. Lynne and Mark are friendly but unobtrusive hosts. They gave us lots of valuable tips on where to go.
There is a friendly bar, a spar, a boulongerie and a good pizzaria within walking distance, not to mention the evening event in the next village where we danced the night away.
We unreservedly recommended this accommodation.

We had a great time staying at La Perroquet with members of the family coming together from the UK and the USA. The farmhouse had been well renovated and furnished and had a large kitchen for family breakfasts and meals and an outside dining area for BBQs and evening meals. The swimming pool was excellent, greatly enjoyed by all especially the children. The owners have tried to create an authentic historic French feel which is great. However the authentic 6ft French beds with wooden head and tail boards posed a problem for some members of our family who were over 6ft. It would be worth thinking about removing the wooden tailboards to allow for taller guests, at least in some rooms. The owners, Mark and Lynn, were very helpful and introduced us to local events, such as village get togethers on two evenings. Would certainly recommend it to others wishing to have a family reunion. Thanks to Mark and Lynn for providing this opportunity.

Excellent communication with property owners who were extremely pleasant and helpful. Even though they lived on site, they were very careful to respect our complete privacy. Gardens and pool area were beautiful. A short walk to the village which had a Spar, a pizzeria, a bakery and a bar.
House was well equipped with all required!
Highly recommend!

We stayed as a group of 4 families, 15 in total and had a fabulous week at ‘Le Perroquet’
We loved the rustic French charm of the properties and the layout of the 2 separate houses were perfect giving lots of space to spread out, plenty of bathroom facilities & great showers ! The house is very well equipped for catering for 15 with plenty of crockery & fridge/freezer space. We enjoyed lovely long lunches & suppers under the large shaded table in the garden .
The pool was fantastic, kept extremely clean and had enough sun loungers for everyone as well as plenty shade for those that wanted it .
Mark & Lynn were excellent hosts, on hand if needed but very discreet when they crept in to keep the pool clean for us.
We loved this unspoilt area of the Dordogne, enjoying the market in Bergerac , a fabulous night dancing with the locals at the evening ‘Gastronorm market ‘in Mouleydier and a great day kayaking on the river from Limeuil with Aquafun Canoes (run by an English man !)
With just a short walk into the village the Boulangere , Spa shop and friendly bar were very handy , with larger Supermarkets just 10mins away in Bergerac .
Though the river runs at the bottom of the beautiful garden the banks are too steep to access here & in an evening the Mosquitos were out in force (definitely come armed with repellent ). You can access the river with kayaks in Mouleydier but not allowed to swim in it there as we discovered !!!
We would definitely recommend this property for large groups wanting to experience the Dordogne & would love to return one day.

It was an easy week despite holidaying with 4 children under six! The pool was brilliant and the space in the garden ideal. The small road that the property was on was surprisingly busy and with some noise to those sleeping on that side of the house. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a large bar-b-q also. Our hosts, Mark and Lyn were quick to respond to all of our requests or queries. We really had a good week.
Perhaps the only improvement would be blinds to the roof windows - to help the kiddies sleep longer and the adults to survive better with more sleep themselves!

We have just returned from a truly memorable holiday at Le Perroquet. Nine members of my family, ranging from 12 to 80 years, stayed in the gites. They are as described and had all the utensils and facilities that we needed. We enjoyed lazy days by the pool and most nights had a barbeque in the beautiful garden.
We walked into the village most mornings for bread and the little bar on the corner was always a good pit stop after a long walk along the river Dordogne.
We would definitely recommend Le Perroquet, if you want beautiful, unspoilt, rural France, with all the ammenities of Bergerac and the region on your doorstep.
Finally, Lynn & Mark were great hosts, there if we needed them, nothing was too much bother, they just wanted us to have a lovely holiday!

Coming back for a second stay, even better than last time! Loads to do in the area, lovely house, garden and pool. Mark and Lynn are great hosts with lots of advice on what to do and nothing is too much trouble. Can’t wait to come back again xxx

We've just spent a week at this beautiful & comfortable house. There were 12 of us all together combining 3 families and we found the house extremely well equipped and very comfortable. The pool was perfect and the large garden meant we were all able to spread out and have some space but also come together when we wanted too. There was enough seating both around the pool and in the garden to all eat comfortably together and Mark & Lynn were excellent hosts, there if we needed them for anything but very respectful of our privacy too. i would highly recommend this property for a large group. We would definitely use this again.

Our family of 10m stayed in 'Le Perroquet' in July and had a wonderful holiday. Mark and Lynn the owners were very helpful in advising about places to visit and local festivities and although very helpful were very unobtrusive.
Local amenities like pub, boulangerie, supermarket etc are within walking distance .
The house, gardens and pool are superb and lovingly looked after.
The house facilities were very adequate for a large family and satellite tv was a bonus for children.
The only slight drawback is that the bedrooms do get warm and fans would be very welcome particularly for guests who fly.
However, we would have no hesitation in highly recommending this Site.

We stayed as a large group of friends who met at University and had a wonderful time staying at Le Perroquet. Despite some issues (like a major Thunderstorm taking the power out) Mark and Lynn were absolutely lovely and always on hand to help out (and provided lots of candles to deal with the light situation) The accomodation is made up of two seperate gites, a large house and a smaller house with large living areas in each which were perfect for communal cooking. Also, special mention goes to the amazing power showers in each of the houses. The pool was lovely and kept very clean by Mark & Lynn.
The Gites are based about 11km outside of Bergerac and there is a lovely little village called Mouleydier a short walk away with a Spar shop, Bakery, Butchers etc... and Supermarkets are about 5km away if you need them.
I'd recommend hiring a car if you want to see what the best of Dordoyne has to offer but there are plenty of lovely walks and chateaus in the near vicinity (we hired bikes and cycled through some of the beautiful counntryside that surrounds it)
Overall, we had a lovely time and would not hesitate to recommend it.

We were a family of 10 adults and 1 toddler, so we hired the two gites giving us 7 bedrooms in all. There was lots of room for all of us, with a lovely spacious garden (including Poppy the dog who kept our toddler entertained for hours with her ball) and we made good use of the lovely pool which was kept scrupulously clean by Mark. The gites were exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped. Mark and Lynn were great hosts ; there when you needed them but not at all intrusive. The local village was nearby, 20 mins walk with bakery, bar post office etc. Bergerac a very pretty town jut 30 mins away. We all enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to recommend it.

We stayed here as a group of 14 friends who met at university. The house is spectacular: big, beautiful, well decorated, and very clean. The grounds around the house are also vast, with a large swimming pool, a couple of acres of land, and the river Dordogne running at the bottom of the garden! We had a great time just relaxing in the house and grounds, as well as getting involved in all the local activities - night markets, day markets, river walks, kayaking etc.

The property was excellent just what we all needed, the pool was a great asset and the kids were never out of it although it was cold it never bothered us or them. weather was superb and we could not have asked for anything better. The owners were lovely and were always there if we needed them. I would definitely go back it was one of the best properties I have stayed in we had the best 2 weeks thank you.

We came here for a family holiday - grandparents, children and grandchildren, 13 in all. We were all taken aback by the quality of the accommodation - the owners have wonderful taste and a terrific eye for detail. All of the rooms were large and furnished beautifully and the bathrooms were very modern. The garden is amazing, the pool was cleaned in the early morning every day. We enjoyed many happy meals at the long, covered table outside. Mark and Lynn were very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. We played lots of outside games because the garden is so large and there was a very good table tennis table which we made a lot of use of. The Dordogne area is beautiful but sometimes we found we were just happy to spend time around the pool and garden, so relaxing. Main points are quality and cleanliness, we were really impressed - only sad part was when we left. Spar 5 minute walk and a cheap but very good takeaway pizza shop in Mouleydier, some good river walks there too.

We decided to take a family holiday in Bergerac and Le Perroquet fitted our needs wonderfully. There were 13 of us, and therefore we booked both cottages. Right from the outset the owners were helpful, answering our emails for advice about activities and facilities promptly. Their comments were very helpful, and saved us the trial and errors method of finding our feet when we arrived. They pointed us in the right direction for a good local wine supplier, and we felt Mark and Lynn greatly added to our overall enjoyment of the holiday. The accommodation is of a good standard, and certainly excellent value for money. The garden is huge, and the seven children present made full use of it, memorably when Mark mowed a decent sized racetrack into the grass, which provided hours of fun as they raced each other round (on foot!). Local shops are five minutes walk away, but the big hypermarket was our main source of provisions, and is only a short car journey away.
Overall, this property is a great base for a holiday in the Dordogne, and I would certainly recommend it.

We stayed for a week with friends here and had a really lovely time.
The houses are very comfortable and well appointed. We particularly enjoyed being able to eat outside at the long table under the covered dining area looking out over the enormous garden. The pool was kept beautifully clean.
The local shops for really good quality bread etc. are a 10 minute walk, 5 minute bike ride or 2 minute drive away.
There's a very big Intermarche supermarket about 10 minute's drive towards Bergerac which has pretty much everything you need (and more!) in terms of food and drink.
There's so much to see and do locally that I can't do it justice here, but suffice to say that this is a beautiful part of the world.
The owners, who live next door, are very friendly and helpful.

I am french and live in London, I wanted to celebrate my big 40 in France with my friends. It is the perfect place for it, we had a great time in this farmhouse. It is spacious and give plenty of room for people not to feel on top of each other, all rooms are furnished with traditional wooden furniture and all is very clean. The swimming pool area is great for relaxation or daytime party. I held a Miami Beach party and we had so much fun. The owner Mark & Lynne are fantastic, they are very helpful and great company as we had a few drinks together. There is also a patio area for about 20 people where we had our bbqs and late night fun. Overall, it's a great place to relax and enjoy the sweet ''French life''. There is the village at about 5mins walk so we had our fresh daily baguettes and croissants!!

We stayed here for a week as a group of 12 approx 25 year-olds & had a great time. The property was well equipped and had everything we needed, plus all the rooms were a good size so no-one got the short straw there!
The pool was a good size and kept in immaculate condition throughout our stay, with plenty of sunbathing room as well. Our holiday was made by the vast garden which meant we could play football, frisbee, rounders & volleyball (using a net we bought from a local shop) without restrictions on space or needing to worry about interrupting those in our group who were relaxing by the pool!
A large, covered outside table was a great place to spend the evenings as a group (a bbq is provided). We didn't need to worry about making too much noise late at night which meant it was a great place to stay as a large group and make your own fun. Would recommend for young-ish groups such as ourselves or for holidaying with a couple of families as there's plenty of room for everyone!
If staying here, you'd probably want to have a car but there is a small Spar 10/15 mins walk away so you could just get about get by without one. We had one car between and managed with this and a getting some taxis. The nearest large supermarket is approx 10km away. It cost around 30 euros each way to get a cab into the lovely town of Bergerac (plenty of nice restaurants) from the property (likewise about 30 euros from train station to property as some of our group did).
