The property had spacious rooms, a good shower, and was clean. The staff were really friendly. The location was great. There were a lot of stairs and incline to get to the hotel so keep that in mind if you don’t do well with stairs!

Toller Pool mit schönem Blick auf das Meer und ein wirklich gutes Frühstück.

Very quiet, clean and well-maintained. We visited in the offseason and had the place almost to ourselves. Gorgeous view overlooking the town and the sea. The town was utterly charming and even the downside (the walk down to the town for every meal) made for an interesting experience. The pool was very clean but cold! Easy free parking.
As it was the offseason there were no services. We were stumped at checkin as you had to call a number to summon a staff member, but our international phone plans are data only, so we had to flag down a handyman to make the call for us. No breakfast was offered, no drinks at the pool. I think all this would be better in high season.
Be aware that to get to meals and services in town, you have to walk down a very steep path with steps (about a 10 minute walk) down to the town. It’s not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

L' emplacement
Dommage.

Very clean. Nice courtyard pool. Excellent breakfast. Close to coastal restaurants. Parking spots. The view and ruins nearby. Local cats are well behaved.

Our host was very kind and spoke very well French. The whole place looked beautiful. The apartment is well located, right on top of the port area. We also appreciated the pool very much and the flexibility of the staff for the hours of its opening.
The apartment was quite dark (lights which didn't create a cozy atmosphere) and the furniture was a bit old. Because of the wind and the sewers system on the whole island, there were bad smells coming to the bathroom that were difficult to bare, although they became a bit less strong after someone had taken a shower.

The view from the terrace to the sea is stunning, the breakfasts are very good - a large selection, orange cake, yogurt, filo pastries, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit. Chora Sfakion is a great destination for a few days.
There's a bit of a stench from the toilet

Had a wonderful stay. Nice room with beautiful view. Nice breakfast with lots of fresh products. Highly recommended!

Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal.

Lovely apparment, not stylish but comfortable and with everything one could need. Loads of room and brilliant views. And an amazing breakfast every morning!
Nothing.

The view is great (twin room). The host do make you feel welcome. They know where you can go and what to do and gladly tell it to you. The connections by boats to great beaches are good! It is a very nice and quiet place for families.

Lovely breakfast with self made pastries: superb. Amazing view and convient acces to the village through a nice small path amongst the houses, only 5 min walk. Extremely friendly received by Maria, who immediatley helped us out with an extra fan (heat wave at the time), arranging a boot rental etc.

Nice breakfast, location is good, close to the beach.
There wasn't a courtain in the room.

Thé breakfast was excellent! Great host
The hotel is a family hotel, so not for a group of young friends

Spinach pie and other pies for breakfast were very very delicious!
Stargazing from the pool is a special experience!
Strange position for breakfast buffet (very narrow corridor).

Friendly staff. Very helpful with local restaurants, sightseeing, travel and parking.
Nothing.

The breakfast was excellent and the reception was friendly.
One must be very fit to make make the exceedingly long trek up and down the path to and from town. This would be quite challenging if one has knee issues.

Sfakian Horizon was a pleasant stay and a 5 minute walk to the small town. The staff were very friendly and gave us some local recommendations and the pool area and breakfast included were great.
The double room we had was actually two single beds which was slightly annoying but nothing major. The room was a bit basic and could've done with a refresh but nothing that stopped us enjoying the stay.
3.5
Spotless room, conveniently located for the port, although up a steep hill.
Could be noisy as our particular room was on the road and next to reception. However this was probably reflected in the price we paid.

it was quiet clean and had a swimming pool
liked it all

everything!
location, room, breakfast, the very helpful receptionist
only tiny problem, not being able to hang the shower head.

We were able to Park in the premises of the hotel. The people were really nice and the pool although small, was lovely too. Best thing of the hotel is the breakfast, all kinds of treats prepared by a very kind lady!
4.5
Quiet rooms. Lovely breakfast - freshly cooked quiche, cinnamon pastries, apple pastries, eggs, bacon, fruit, cereal...fresh juice etc. Different each day, by the pool.
Clean rooms. Drying rack provided (yay! Helpful).
Lovely staff.
Short walk to beaches. Up hill on the way back but you could shower by the pool and have a swim at the top if you wish!
Lovely view from the pool terrace. Easy parking at property.
Vrissi Beach was lovely and had a sandy part at the start so you could get in and out easily without pebbles. So clear.
The town has character with old buildings and narrow pathways.
Good air con.
All good

Loved my apartment and the view from the balcony. Excellent AC, fabulous location to the main town, quiet at night and comfy bed. The breakfast was excellent.

very clean great location great breakfast and staff was friendly, especially at the cafe
the apartments next to the pool have no privacy at all, unless you close all the windows people are coming by all the time almost inside your room all throughout the day. not comfortable vibe for this price, although room was great in terms of space and commodities
4.5
The position is simply great. Outstanding sea view and great price/quality ratio. Private parking is a plus in this little town.
Breakfast is average and it is quite “unusual” that we should pay an extra to have a proper coffee.
4.5
The lady making the breakfast had different surprises every morning and put a personal touch to the experience. Excellent local breakfast by the pool. The rooms were big and clean, nice-sized pool.
The aircon unit was only in one room so the other did not cool down well, but was still tolerable. Most of the breakfast tables were in full sunlight, but some shade was being set up while we stayed there so this is probably fixed now. Smoking is allowed in the rooms and there was a weak stale smell in the bedroom. The biggest problem was finding the hotel for the first time. You really need to know the local pathways between the buildings to find it on foot. Unlike many other establishments, Sfakia Horizon was not signposted when approaching from the harbor. Just a few arrows pointing in the right direction would have helped! Once we learned the route, or when you start walking downhill from the hotel, it's very close to everything. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay there.

Wonderful little find!
My wife, 10 year old boy and I just spent 2 nights at the Sfakian Horizon whilst we tour around Crete. We initially chose this hotel for the parking and swimming pool. Due to the reasonable cost per night, we weren't expecting too much. But it far exceed expectations.
I gather the hotel changed ownership 3 years ago and was immediately impacted by the pandemic in their first season. So goodness knows how they got through that. The building is in great condition with refreshing colours throughout. The grounds and rooms are kept immaculately clean. The pool area was a huge bonus for our son, with fantastic sea views, loungers and clear water.
Breakfast was made with care by a lovely lady who worked tirelessly (I'm sorry I didn't get her name but thank you!) preparing baked pastries along with the usual breakfast fare. They also serve drinks and snacks by the pool.
Ours poolside apartment was spacious with a/c in the bedroom (which reaches the lounge if you run it for a little while), sofa bed in the lounge, decent size kitchen, dining table, flat screen TV in both bedroom and lounge, a huge amount of storage and private patio out front with table and chairs. Whilst furnished quite simply, I felt the apartments provide more than you need for a comfortable stay.
The location is great, just a few minutes stroll up hill through pretty, winding alleys from the water front where there is an abundance of excellent tavernas. We really did fall in love with the town.
I feel the Sfakian Horizon is a boutique hotel at heart, with a very calm and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were so friendly and went to great lengths to make our stay comfortable. Katerina at reception was particularly delightful. We're already thinking about returning next year because our stay was too short!
Nothing, it was just right for us

Location is good as we can easily walk down to the port or the beach.
Very basic apartment with few kitchen items. Noisy air condition.

The hotel has some parking spots, which is a plus. The rooms are okay. Breakfast is in buffet, with fresh backed paisteries.
A lot of stairs to do to get to the main strip, but that’s normal in a hill town.
3.5
The breakfast was really delicious with a touch of homemade delicacies. Mrs Eleni, who was responsible for the breakfast, was very nice to her customers and prepared a really good breakfast with a lot of variation every day. The reception offered good service when I requested a fan because one of the rooms lacked air-conditioning. The swimming pool was areal plus for the kids.
I think the price of the room was too high in respect to what it offered. The view was really amazing from the balcony but the room was really spacious. However, the room needs renovating and air-conditioning. Only one of the rooms had an air-conditioning.
5.0
Well positioned place (closed to the town)with a wonderful sea view and swimming pool. Very good breakfast with greek home made products (kiria Eleni is a very good cooker!)
