About this cabin rental
Welcome to Lazy Arrow Lodge!
This cozy, rustic cabin with modern touches is tucked under the magnificent Tahquitz Peak and nestled between mature, towering pine, cedar and oak trees. The views are magical and restorative - to the East you’ll find Tahquitz Peak towering over the cabin and to the West you can watch the sun set behind the mountains as it’s rays peak through the mature trees on our ½ acre lot. Awesome. Listen to the birds chirping, the woodpeckers pecking, the wind rustling through the trees…and sometimes…the silence. This is the perfect spot for you to unwind, recharge, restore, connect, disconnect, think and not think.
This classic cabin has been lovingly designed with a tastefully curated mix of mid-century modern, cabin and basecamp chic. From the custom Pendleton couch pillows to the charger for your iPhone...it’s got rustic charm yet has modern touches.
Architecturally speaking, as soon as you enter, you’ll feel the cabin’s relaxed and cozy vibe with the all wood interiors, the spacious brick, wood burning fireplace and the high ceilings and windows that look out to greenery throughout it’s 950 square feet. The deck has a 270 degree view, but our favorite view is looking right up to Tahquitz Peak. You can enjoy your morning coffee as you gaze up to it and sip your evening cocktails as you watch it turn from orange to pink while the sun goes down. The cabin is located on a large, ½ acre lot, which is filled with mature pine, oak, cedar and manzanita trees. It’s also fully fenced in so your fur babies will love running up and down the yard and sniffing the land.
The cabin is located in northern Idyllwild in the upscale neighborhood of Fern Valley. It's at a higher elevation than the town of Idyllwild which means you'll get more snow! Only a 2 minute drive/20 minute walk to Humber Park, which is the jumping off point for many awesome hikes of all levels. And you’ll be a five minute drive into the center of the quaint little town where you’ll be able to browse cute shops, go wine tasting or pop into one of the charming restaurants.
KITCHEN, BREAKFAST BAR
The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking/baking/roasting/bqqing needs...there's even a fondue set. Foodies will appreciate! Pull up a stool to the breakfast bar and enjoy a meal there or eat at the 4 person table where you can watch the sun trickle through the trees. Or barbeque outside and enjoy a meal at the outdoor dining table or outdoor couch.
BEDROOMS
Drift off to a restorative sleep in either bedroom. Both bedrooms look up to Tahquitz Peak and have two story windows. Sleep blissfully in the super comfy and cozy King and Queen mattresses and enjoy the stylish Pendleton blankets, (washable wool, of course!), when it gets chilly.
LIVING ROOM
Movie and game night is elevated here in front of a roaring wood fire. Watch your favorite shows on the 4k 49” Roku TV. Choose from one of the many boards games to play…from chess to Operation, there’s a game for everyone. Cuddle up on one of the luxurious leather couches with custom Pendleton pillows and washable Pendleton throws. Set your vibe with the record player and choose between the carefully curated album collection. Or hook up your devices to a bluetooth speaker and stream your own music. The internet has download speeds of 356 mbps…which means you’re good to go for all your wifi needs.
BATHROOMS
Enjoy the renovated main bathroom. Just because The Lazy Arrow is a classic cabin doesn’t mean we don’t like luxury. Wash the hiking dirt away under the rain shower as you look out of the skylight up to the trees. There's also a powder room off of the primary bedroom.

OTHER INFORMATION
Our cleaning staff increased their normally stringent cleaning policies, when Covid was at it's peak, and have just kept those standards going. (please see our reviews, our cabin is spotless!). In addition to our vigilant cleaning, we also sanitize all high touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, remotes, fridge/stove/cabinet handles etc…While the crew is turning the cabin around, the cabin is opened up to allow the air to vent…so rest assured you’ll have a worry free stay.

The property is clean, well organized, and in a quiet location just minutes from hiking trails and town. Highly recommend.

We loved the accommodations and the beds/ linens were very comfortable. The views from the deck were beautiful! Our dogs loved exploring the giant yard. We also loved the turn table with vintage LP’s. We had wonderful time and would highly recommend.

Beautiful view of Tahquitz Peak and Lilly Rock. Very comfortable cabin also with a large fenced in yard including the driveway. Our dog loved it. Only problem was no cell service with AT&T but they have a landline. We actually set up WiFi calling so no problem. We signed on to the cabin’s WiFi but had problems receiving emails and loading web sites on our phones and lap top. Used our Apple TV and watched all our favorite shows in the evening. Close to Humber Park and Idyllwild. Very relaxing.

This cozy and quiet cabin is comfortable, clean, and close to fun restaurants and cafes in Idyllwild and lovely walks in San Bernardino National Forest. The property features a peaceful outdoor area among the trees, and the host was extremely helpful and responsive. We would like to stay here again!

Everything was really nice. Very clean. We even used the bbq. Close to town and close to hiking. The host was easy to communicate with. If I had anything negative to say it would only be that there was food in the fridge and pantry.I just feel like everyone should bring their own and fridge and panty should be empty except maybe some spices.Other than that minor detail our stay was awesome. We even got some snow.

We loved this place. It was clean and comfortable. Fireplace and entertainment area were much . appreciated. Showers were hot and beds were large and comfortable. Neighborhood quiet and the views are amazing. The size and layout were homey and just perfect for us. The check in was simple with easy communication with the owner. Highly recommend this cabin.

Lazy Arrow Lodge is a peaceful cabin set on 1/2 acre just a few miles from town. The trees surrounding the property are beautiful & the interior is exactly as represented online.
The fireplace works beautifully and was so nice on some cool November days! I will definitely be back.
Thanks,Kelly

Enjoyed my stay, the cabin is comfortable, nice, & clean. Relaxing get away, lovely pine trees on the property & beautiful view of the large rock mountain. Thank you again!

It went by too fast! Very comfy stay, except the master bed mattress, which is pretty firm.

I have never seen my dogs so happy. The fenced yard is perfect for scampering after balls and squirrels. We visited when I was still recovering from a broken ankle and not yet able to do a ton of walking. Fortunately, the airy open living room is perfect for just lounging and enjoying the view of the trees. The patio is the same.

This lovely home is just as advertised—it is warm and comfortable with loads of clean windows overlooking tall pines with a spectacular view of Tahquitz Peak. The furnishings are quite comfortable (e.g., leather couches and a large chair; live edge coffee table, dining table with two comfortable benches). The kitchen is well appointed with what we needed in terms of cooking implements and spices and other items. There are large substantial towels in the bathroom with the shower. The hosts have thought of everything, e.g., games, tech, and even a record player and some albums and even dog dishes. The large deck is comfortable when the weather is nice. We interacted as needed with Kelly who answered quickly and was very accommodating when we asked about staying an additional night. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and we hope to return.

We had a terrific time at this cabin. Perfect size, great location (close to Hummer Park trailhead), and beautiful views with a solid or h for entertaining. Cabin was clean, well appointed kitchen, and comfortable beds. Property Manager was very responsive and attentive to our needs. Only minor issue was not knowing we needed to bring toiletries. Suggest lodging description or welcome materials include this for folks to prepare accordingly. Other than that 5 stars!

Cool little cabin with a nice outdoorsy yard. Private, quiet, great views, and a good place to chill out for a few days. Very nice house with pretty much everything you need.

What a great place to get away from the noise of the city! This house has it all - great design, cool music, fun games, amazing views and close proximity to trails and town. Our dog loved it too, as there was a large fenced yard for her to explore. Super quiet neighborhood, all you hear is the sounds of nature. We filled up the hummingbird feeder and enjoyed watched them, and all of the backyard critters from the comfort of the deck (which has numerous comfy seating options!) owner was super quick to respond to messages. 10/10, would definitely come back!

Really very comfortable for up to 4. The cabin itself is modest in size, but remarkably efficient and beautiful in design. Clean, understated, comfortable with tons of natural light, just where you'd want it. Big fridge and TV. Wrap around deck with some striking views peaking through the trees, and there are a lot of trees and shade in this area. It is hilly and might not be best for mobility challenged. A half bath right next to the master bedroom with a full bath (shower stall) off the hallway. Master bed was a bit too firm for my preference. Fun retro turntable and a separate solid bluetooth speaker. Not far from town center by car. Big fenced in yard with a gate on wheels to enclose the driveway. Driveway asphalt is breaking up a bit due to weathering. Friendly neighbors who respond well to kindness and respect. Organized and responsive host. Thanks Kelly.

My husband and I, along with our 2 dogs, came to stay at Arrow Lodge to get away from our home for a weekend, which is heavy in the throws of remodel. It was an excellent choice. Really sweet and clean house and surroundings, very quiet, and felt very safe. The town was small and charming - definitely get some crepes. My dogs had never seen snow and they spent a ton of time outside playing around. Kelly is very friendly, and very responsive. You will love it here.

The property is exactly as listed. We came after an historic snow storm and parking was an issue. It would have been helpful to have salt provided as the melt was freezing every night. We both fell a few times, but I recognize the difficulty the community was facing.

We decided to jump on a last minute chance for a snow storm. I’m so grateful to have found this gem. Very close to Humber park for great sledding and hiking. A short drive to town. The house is furnished and decorated to be cozy and easy to keep very clean.

This cabin was everything we were looking for and more. Quiet, cozy, well appointed, fantastic kitchen, comfy bed, great plumbing and shower, amazing wooded setting. Handy to Palm Desert (phase 1 of our vacation - we had travelled all the way from Canada by plane and wanted to tack on a mountain experience), incredible scenery, handy to the town of Idyllwild but away from town. We completely agree with the many dozens of favorable reviews! We are hikers; due to my partner's recent leg injury, we were unable to take full advantage of the winter hiking close by. Oh well, we had to make do with reading, watching shows and relaxing on the deck and in the cabin! We would love to come back next year!

What an amazing stay! The house was better than we imagined. We celebrated my son's birthday with hope for a dusting of snow. Rain turned to a snow flurry which snowed us in. Kelly was amazing getting the driveway snow plowed when it was safe to drive home.
We played board games supplied by the Lodge. It was a magical weekend. A time to unplug and enjoy or family.

Kelly provided the perfect spot for my old buddies and I to escape our day-to-days and hang out and catch up over drinks and food. It's out of the way enough to get away but near enough to charming Idylwild to fetch anything we needed. Will definitely be coming back!

Loved the cabin! So clean and comfortable. The fenced yard was the best as we could let our dogs roam and they too had a great stay

I stayed here for 3 summer nights with my wife and our dog for her birthday (the wife's, not the dog's!). While this rental was on the pricier side, it was well worth the money! The house is just perfection inside, with all the tasteful and intentional touches that make this the upscale retreat it was. It is plenty spacious with charming decor and a beautiful outdoor deck with majestic views. The large and fully-gated out door space surrounding the house was a dreamland for our dog, that had the time of his life running around and chasing the neighbor dogs through the fence. The house had a good assortment of kitchen goods to cover basic cooking tasks and a great living room setup with streaming services available on the TV. The location was right around the corner from both the wonderful village area and from the Humber Park trailhead. This was the perfect combination of comfort, luxury, and cozy cabin-y getaway feels. We would love to make this rental an annual tradition!

Fun in Fern Valley
Hello! My family and I had a great stay at the Lazy Arrow Lodge back in early June. All communication with the host leading up to our stay was timely and responsive. The location of the cabin is great (close to town and hiking trails) and the cabin property is wonderful. There are lots of trees that allow for great bird and squirrel watching. The cabin itself is just as advertised. We enjoyed relaxing and listening to the provided records on the record player. We even donated a record of our own to the cabin collection that we picked up at the local record store down in town. We really had a great time, and look forward to returning again.

Very Lazy Arrow
It was “just easy” and comfortable. Everything was as we expected and then some. The environment felt so thoughtfully and smartly put together. I even found a new show for our LO! We found the location was good for our needs. If they would have us we would come back. Thank you so much!

Great cabin with unbeatable view
This was our second stay. We love this cabin. It is a well stocked, comfortable cabin nestled amongst trees and with a deck that has an incredible view of Tahquitz rock. This place is also a great for your dog as the large yard is fenced. The owners respond quickly and are very attentive to your needs.

Relaxation in Idyllwild
This is our second time staying at this location and in Fern Valley. The property is surrounded by forest trees. Very quiet and peaceful. The unit was very clean and provides everything you need to prepare meals. Great home away from home. The village is a short drive to a host of restaurants and activities if you decide to go out. Super close to hiking trails. We would definitely recommend this property.
