The location, facilities and peaceful surroundings. Donkey sanctuary nearby and costal walks
The curtains were thin one of the other homes left their outdoor light on all.night . Which meant we couldn't sleep .
Potholes in location roads

Whats not to like, great location for a base, great facilities in the property, washing machine and dishwasher. Comfortable and homely. Loved our short stay.
For us the main bed was a little low (not getting any younger) but not enough to complain about. Fine for our short stay. Bed was very comfy so slept well.
8.0 / 10.0
Nice and quiet location. Complete inventory, everything you might need is there.
Cottage needs some inside and outside maintenance. Pergola is rotten in dome area's, and will likely fall apart when leaned on. The gravel paths on the site, leading to the cottage, are really awful, full of unnecessary potholes. Furthermore, the reception is closed, nobody there. The site looks like it's becoming abandoned.
5.0 / 10.0
Good location. Comfy beds. Good to have washing machine and dishwasher.
Lightbulbs in lounge not working. Curtain rails in lounge barely attached to wall so we didn't dare close the curtains in case they fell down. Large patch of peeling paint in the bathroom by the the bath. Patches of mildew in hall, bedrooms and bathroom. Rotten skirting board and mouldy wall in hall by bathroom (where shower is presumably leaking). Broken clothes airers and armchair and sofa have rips in them. Dog hair in lounge rug.

Loved how peaceful and quiet it was, the donkey sanctuary is within walking distance and a great place to visit we loved it, beautiful walks and nature reserves in the surrounding area, holiday home was spacious, very well equipped and clean, the beds we’re very comfortable and bedding and towels immaculate, we had a wonderful weeks stay thank you.

Our cottage was spacious, well equipped - washer/dryer, dish washer with tablets on the side. Plenty of cooking equipment, the space outside was lovely and the children enjoyed playing outside. The beds were comfy and the bathroom had a lovely bath. The large dining room table was enjoyed by all, eating and playing games. Loved been next door to the donkey sanctuary. The walk from the donkey sanctuary to Weston beach is a must.
The spiders! Mushrooms growing out of the tiles in the bathroom, we had to remove them. The shower head was grim, the shower skirt kept falling off. The place wasn't as clean as I would have liked but I am very picky with cleanliness, it didn't spoil anything but a bit of a better dust and hoover would have been nice, especially underneath and behind furniture. The towels and bedding were really clean and fresh. The kitchen, oven dishwasher and washing washing machine were clean, it was just the finer details. The property and site needed some maintenance to make it truly beautiful. The swimming pool and bar going back would make it a perfect family site.

Lovely modern property. Suitable for 3 people. Good contact with owner.
The pull out bed took up all of the 2nd bedroom and there was no room whatsoever. It would have been better with a sofa bed in the lounge.
No WIFI for entire stay.
Could do with ceiling cobwebs being cleaned. Patio needed weeding and better garden furniture needed. The grounds are tired and need a good garden tidy up

Spacious, hot tub and well equipped kitchen
Mould in the bathroom and en-suite. It smelt damp.

The village is situated in a lovely location with lots to see and do close by
The rooms themselves could have done with a little bit of modernization and some general TLC.

We rented two cottages and both were excellent and exactly what we wanted. My son and his children used one and we used the other with our daughters visiting at different times during the week. We were all very happy with the facilities, beds were good and the kitchen has everything you could want for self catering.
Our particular stay didn't highlight any shortfalls, we were happy with everything.

The location was fabulous, and we loved the proximity to the donkey sanctuary and country walks. Accommodation was well equipped and comfortable. Bill was friendly and quick to respond when we had a maintenance issue
Accommodation was a little tired, and there were some low-level areas that had been missed when cleaning.
8.0 / 10.0
Most of the property/facilities were great. With the odd exception it had everything you needed to make your stay comfortable. It was a good size- there was 3 of us staying but if there had been 4 there was plenty of room to not feel overcrowded. The beds were really comfortable - slept really well - and the linen/towels were good quality. Nice quiet location and close to the donkey sanctuary so we could see them when coming and going. Not far to travel to get to some lovely locations. - we did Sidmouth, Beer, Seaton (bit tired and rundown), Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and travelled further to see Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.
There was a couple of things that let the property down. It was a bit tired in places - could probably do with a repaint outside. The floor as you enter the hall is loose and needs resealing down. Could do with a dustpan and brush as there is a broom but then no way of sweeping off the floor into the bin. The outside handle on the main bedroom door was missing. There was a clothes airer but the one leg was snapped off so it wouldn’t have stood up so was a bit pointless. There was supposed to be internet but none of us were able to sign on to it and our phones only worked early in the morning or late at night. With this in mind a book on places to go to/visit would have been useful - along with local shops/pubs/restaurants etc - as there was only one leaflet about Sidmouth! Also there was a load of spiderwebs along the side of one of the settees and a few high on the ceiling that hadn’t been cleared. The road as you entered the park had some very big potholes that definitely need to be sorted. The pictures on the booking site are a bit jumbled as the interior/exterior of ours didn’t completely match with the pics shown - presume as there are a few to rent on the same park that they’ve got mixed up - but probably should get them sorted for the property your choosing. Although there seems a lot of negative most are easily fixable to make stays better.

Overall the lodge was very nice, good beds, clean and tidy.
We stayed at No 17. This was our second week We had a dreadful start to our holiday the previous week. In this second week we had NO WIFI for 3days, then very limited wifi for the rest of the week.

The site was lovely and quiet, well kept communal areas, and handy for local towns and beaches. Lovely walks from the site around the Donkey Sanctuary.
There were a couple of issues with the property:-
No wi-fi, though it stated there was in the listing,
Some lights in the bathroom didn't work
No instructions for appliances

We had a good view from the lodge, and a large field to walk the dog.
No email/text before we arrived so we didn't have the key safe code. No one replied to our texts /phone calls. Booking.com failed to get us the key code. We couldn't find a hotel in the area to put us up for the night.. Luckily a "Good Samariton" gave us the key. At the back of the lodge there is a pile of old mattresses stacked up, what an eyesore. Tiny fridge/freezer hardly big enough for two. Lots of niggley faults.

Location is great for Donkey Sanctuary and exploring the coast.
All amenities at the property were great.
Beautiful views
Have to cross grass to no 17, was ok as it was dry, can imagine it wouldn't be so easy if it was raining.
Small room needed more storage

Great location. Amazing views. Nice and quiet. Well appointed holiday let.
Minor niggles, no WiFi for first 2 days but soon fixed. Dripping tap in kitchen. But overall a fab place, will definitely re-visit.

Location was good for local attractions.
Not many on-site facilities.
Was told we had a spa bathroom on booking but found on the 3rd night that the spa bath didn’t work after messaging on the first night.

Wi-Fi is very poor but we used our data

very close to where we were working.
Very hard to find once in the site, there was no site plan.
Electricity was an additional cost.
Very poor phone signal, maybe not important to some but very important to me.
Beds were very hard.

Location was perfect for my interests - coastal walks, donkey sanctuary, access to local town/Exeter city, other attractions
The weather!! (Unfortunately, something the host cannot fix).
4.0 / 10.0
The location is really nice and it has a sea view, also the night sky was amazing, you could see all the stars on a clear night. Also loved that the property is dog friendly and it's close to the donkey sanctuary.
The electric meter is paid separately with £1 and £2 coins which was a bit of a shock, especially as the energy costs are so high at the moment. Owners were accommodating regarding the extra cost and we were lucky that it didn't get too cold.
The property has a very big damp problem, the small bedroom were I slept stank of a damp smell, had to sleep with the window opened and the floors would get wet from how damp it was.
The house wasn't very clean, found quite a few cobwebs and dirt and dust on the floors.
Internet is really bad and couldn't connect Fire TV or use mobile phone much.

We've stayed in this holiday village before (in a different property) and really love the quiet location when we go to visit family who live in Sidmouth. There are no facilities on the site but plenty of space for the kids to run around and the nearby walking distance Donkey Sanctuary has a nice cafe and things to do. The property was clean and comfortable.
There wasn't any wifi and patchy mobile signal. This was the same in the previous property we stayed in on the same site. Its a slightly out of town location so it was fine with us - as city dwellers, we had much more fun looking at the stars than our phones, but worth being prepared not to have connection. We had downloaded some kids programmes/films before we went.

Great location, close to the town and the beach.
No real wifi connection. couldn’t access the internet on our laptops and had planned to work from the property
8.0 / 10.0
The house was well equipped clean and comfortable.
We were in the Area for the Bicton Horse Trials and just needed a clean comfortable and dry place to wash & sleep. Honeysuckle 55 was perfect!
Finding the property once on the site and locating the parking space was our only complaint! We arrived in the dark, but even in daylight we never found the associated parking slot so abandoned car nearby each evening!
Other than that all was very good. Would use the facilities again.
6.0 / 10.0
Spacious and clean. Light and airy. Quiet and peaceful. Got to take my dog.
Couldn't open the patio doors. Tried contacting Bill and Debz on their number, knocking their door, leaving a note. No response! No TV remote control. No instructions on using cooker. Bad communications.
9.0 / 10.0
We loved the property, it was very spacious, clean and modern. Also, it's in a great position. Right next to the brilliant donkey sanctuary and great for walking to the sea. We recommend Beer Caves as well.
The site wasn't very well signposted so we had to search for our chalet, however it was dark, late and we had just driven for 7 hours.
The WiFi was very slow but we were there on holiday not to watch YouTube.
There were a couple of minor issues but we will still recommend it wholeheartedly.
The worst issue was I left a bottle of my favorite gin behind!

Tv and dvd not working and towel rail. Needed some tidying up like painting I places and resealing in bathroom

The accommodation’s layout was very good.
The cooker hob, I didn’t understand how to work it.

We stayed in Violet no.18 it was pretty well equipped and fairly clean. Nice view of the sea and quiet in the evening. Lovely to be near the donkey sanctuary. It's a nice base for the area.
The property has a four star rating but it was awarded I think back in 2016 so is in need of updating It needs a new frying pan, and bedding, children's bed/mattress was very uncomfortable and there is a smell of damp in the bathroom. The sofas also have rips on them underneath the blankets covering them. There were no basic condiments or any welcome information with local walks or helpful hints and tips so we relied on other people staying nearby for this information. It's an ok place to use as a base, just needs a little love and attention to make it better.
