About this house rental
Attractive property right on the sea front, literally 5 meters to the beach. Sea front garden to enjoy BBQ's etc and when the sea goes out you can collect mussels, cockles, oysters etc.
The bungalow itself is fully equipped with everything you should require. The top garden is just in front of the beach which has a boundary fence to stop the little ones escaping and a gate at the back.
Relax: Point Clear is recorded as being the driest area in the British Isles with the least rainfall.
Make the most of the summer months by relaxing on the beach or windsurfing on a blustery day. The sea sometimes resembles a mill pond at high tide, it can be so calm.
If you like sea fishing you can cast from the beach and catch bass and plaice (and crabs of course).
At dusk enjoy the sunset over Mersea Island it makes a lovely ending to the day.
These properties are quite unique because of their situation right on top of the beach. You can have bbq's on the beach as long as you tidy up afterwards. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself.
Dining & Entertainment: If you like dining out in the evenings try St Osyth or Clacton.
Or on the site there is a fish & chip shop, a Chinese take-away,
local pub which children are welcome and entertainment.
St Osyths has restaurants and pubs for dining.(Chinese & Indian)
We recommend St Osyth's for fish and chips.
The Ferryboat public House 10 minutes walk and allows children. Outside the pub is a hot food hut which is open until 1.00am.(seasonal)
Point Clear shares its area with 'The Orchards Holiday Village'.
Although it is not a part of it and is separated from this area. As you are staying in a bungalow you will not be allowed access to |The Orchards Holiday Village|.
St Osyth has over 17 miles of coastline and was designated a Port in the 13thC. So boat building and coastal trade is a huge part of its history. Cargoes of hay and straw for London's stables and loads of sheeps cheese and butter also.
There are 120 listed buildings in St Osyth, 78 are within the Historic Town limits. Many of the farmhouses are listed, several now offer holiday accomodation. The moated aisled St Cleres Hall has been in continuous residential occupation since 1320 AD.
The main settlement of the village is designated as an Historic Town, and as such is protected by a long established and extensive conservation area. St Osyth is in essence a small medieval town clustered around the precinct walls of a once powerful Priory.
The Parish Church inside dominates the open space and is a grade I listed building which is very large and gives a clue to the prosperity of the village in Tudor and Georgian periods.

Lovely outlook onto small beach. Many larger sandy beaches within 20 mins drive.

The property was very comfortable but probably needs some updating. It is situated in a very nice position and most of the surrounding properties have been updated and modernized to a very high standard.

Our stay there was a pleasure, clean, comfortable, and extremely quite and peacefully, the children would love the bunk beds, and only 5 metres to the beach promenade and sand, bus service only a few minutes walk, extremely satisfied.

Cottage with Sea Views
A great little cottage right by the sea, fully equipped as a home from home, with its own car parking space and views across the sea to the island. Good mobile phone coverage. Nice sea side garden to sit in when the weather is fine too.

Wonderful-sea-view bungalow
Very comfortable accommodation almost on the beach. Good walks. Close to local food shop and within easy reach of Clacton-on-sea by car or bus for family entertainment or Colchester for better shopping.

Perfect location
This was an amazing location, right on the beach. A short drive to town for typical beach amusements and far enough for peace and quiet. The bungalow was perfect too, had everything we needed and more. It was clean and presentable, I will definately be returning with my children!

Perfect get away from it all
Arrived to find lovely clean property very well equipped. My granddaughter was in her element on the beach directly in front of the bungalow. Beautiful views and sunsets. We took the foot ferry to Brightlingsea and went on the pedalos in the Scout boating lake behind the beach huts, it was such a refreshing change from everyday life, and I cant wait to go again!

Great holiday by the sea
This property was an ideal size for us two. It's situation, right next to the sea, is perfect.
It was comfortable, had everything we needed and was clean. The only small irritation was that we had to clean the oven before we could use it. Otherwise it was perfect and we would definitely go again.

Comfortable Clacton
Stayed here for a week.
It had all the amenities and felt very homely.
I would recommend this anyine.
Great view of the sea, where there seems to be plenty of activity with sailing vessels. Very picutesque.
Would certainly stay again.

Fabulous as always
Just got home from another lovely relaxing weeks holiday at this place. We've been holidaying in this bungalow for over 10 years now and it never disappoints us. Right next to the beach, it has every home comfort you need for a relaxing holiday. You have to be quick to book though as the weeks get snapped up quickly,no doubt repeat booking from families like ours as it's affordable and well equipped as well as being safe for kids.

My husband and I took our 3 little granddaughters (7,5,2 yrs) and had a really good old fashioned seaside holiday, it was perfect for what we wanted, lots of sandcastles were built and a jolly good time was had by all.

We have stayed here on holiday over the last 10 years and it never fails to delight, whether rain or sunshine. The bungalow is clean and cosy but not cramped,in fact a real find at the price. It's lovely that you get less hustle and bustle here but the other busy seaside resorts are not far away, like Clacton and Walton. You are not far from a bus route and they are frequent. There is a great little cafe within 5 minutes walk away along the seafront.
My kids love the fact that the beach is a few feet away and there is enough room in the garden to play football. There were crabbing lines and fishing nets already there, with comfortable garden furniture for sitting and watching the world go by
We stayed last week and the quietness was amazing and so was the weather!
We will book for next year soon as weeks get snapped up quickly. Thoroughly enjoyable holiday! 😀

Just got back from a brilliant week in point clear. Property was clean, very homely and had everything we needed. such a great location right on the beach. The sea is tidal but my kids had as much fun climbing on the rocks and playing on the beach when the tide was out as swimming in the sea when it was in. Theres also easy access to some lovely beaches in jaywick and clacton. The open air swimming pool in brightlingsea and the foot ferry were great too. People were very friendly - you get to meet a lot of dog owners and families walking along the sea front - and andrew the owner was great - great communication, very helpful and a pleasure to do business with. I have already recommended this bungalow to family ... but on the proviso that we get first call to book it again next year!

Fantastic place to stay! Our 4 grand-kids said "best holiday ever!" In the past we have gone to holiday 'parks' so we were a bit worried the kids would get bored without a club to go to. How wrong! They just had so much old-fashioned fun on the beach, swimming, crabbing and just running around. It is really safe. I even got to do some fishing. More than enough space for the 6 of us (the two girls doubled up in the big bed). I would advise you take a BBQ if that is your thing but other than that there is everything you need. Don't expect the Ritz, it's not perfect but in its own way that's what makes it 'just perfik'. Thank you Andrew & Sharon.
