Clean room, comfortable bed and good breakfast in room
Mirror in bathroom far too high for us!

Very friendly staff and after my boy said it was for his birthday they left quite a few beach toys for him outside our room. Very nice and made my noy very happy.
4.1
Excellent location and communication. Room was well stocked and clean. Everything worked great. The staff was excellent and willing to help with any of our needs.
Beds could be a bit softer. I know some like firm mattresses but it is hard to get used to if you're a side sleeper. No other issues noted and well worth the value for location and cleanliness.

Very warm welcome. Very kind owners, who went out of their way to provide excellent service. As during the night the fire alarm went off (false alarm) they felt the need not only to reimburse the night (which really wasn't necessary) they also supplied us with a bottle of wine and drinks for the children, with an apology card. In our view we prefer a fire alarm that goes off when nothing is wrong to an alarm that doesn't go off when there is. Despite the hotel clearly having had a hard corona time the service and warmth made up for any minor discomfort. The hotel is ideally suited right next to the beach, with unobstructed sea views, and is perfectly located for anyone who is travelling to catch a ferry at Harwich and needs a place to stay over. Ample parking space provided by the hotel.
The hotel could use a freshening up of the exterior and decor, but understandably the past few years must have been very challenging for a hotel that could not operate during pandemic lockdowns. The owners deserve a break to carry on their business and build it up further. All credit to their tenacity and guest oriented approach!

Very small uncomfortable bed
Musty smell in room

Staff were very nice and accommodating even though i messed the booking numbers up. Great beer in bar. Location is fantastic. They provided a fresh Cravendale milk bottle in fridge along with yogurts, cereal , orange juice and water bottles.
I only gave 9 instead of 10 as i asked for a VAT receipt and was never given one. Hopefully they can see this and send it onto me .

The breakfast in the room. Shower was good and hot. Fairly large room but hotel dated. Served its purpose.

Breakfast was fine it was a complimentary continental breakfast
4.1
Spacious room, clean, friendly welcome, parking space
No cooked breaky, stairs, bar shut at 8pm (would be nice to have had a few drinks in there before bed)

The room is great with a terrific view, we had prime view of a magnificent thunderstorm that night.
Water is provided, along with some tea time and breakfast goodies
We had a special parking place, thank you.
Second time we have had the 'pleasure' of the initial receptionist who's look and manner made me feel like I should not have had any right to even have entered the building in the first place. (that is probably a deal-breaker for me) We are looking at other options for next year.

Excellent location on seafront, close to everything. Large fan provided during hot weather. Breakfast items provided in the room and generously topped up - cereal, milk, yoghurt, croissants. Good shower. Easy check-in and check-out. 2nd time we have stayed here and will do so again.
The rooms are nothing fancy and not everyone will like eating breakfast sitting on the bed but suited our needs.
4.1
Location okay close to the shops and beach
There was no lift we was at the top lots of stairs

Very comfortable room
Easy checking in process very happy thanks

We are both not very mobile No towel change in 4 days. There was no staff communication. "bbreakfast" was very poor just left outside the door.
Was not told there would be lots of stairs and that the bathroom was also upstairs in the room.
It needed to have a rail on the stairs to get to the bathroom

The room was nice and cosy. The shower was quite big. The location is AMAZING
The lady behind the bar was so rude to my partner. She didn't realise we were staying there and if we hadn't paid before then we would have told her where to stick the keys!
4.1
The extra towels and bottled water in the room. The stick a rock for the kids were also a lovely gesture
There isn't a lift so would not be able to bring my disabled mother
4.1
A very well thought about large room, with excellent shower facilities and an excellent view of the sea, the bar downstairs was an additional bonus.
I will definitely visit this establishment again, the staff were very helpful polite and really had taken into consideration the needs of a guest with every aspect of the room.
Booking.com did not inform the hotel we had 2 children with us.
Despite this the hotel were very quick in accommodating our needs and ensured there was enough beds for us all, which was very pleasing.
The stairs were a slight struggle with our cases as there was no lift, however this is a very small issue, which was massively outweighed by the excellent service, polite staff, excellent room and fantastic view of the sea.

Just across road to sandy beach I know I will be staying here again
It’s a no brainer.
Read some of the complaints? From previous guests, they must have been eating stupid tablets when writing their reviews.
Excellent excellent excellent! Lovely place to stay

4.1
Size of room and bed although it was a bit on the firm side The breakfast which consisted of cereals, yoghurt and pain au chocolat. Milk was in a fridge. I enjoyed it watching the large TV.
A late check in would have been good but the reception and the pub closed at 2000 which I found really unusual. Perhaps staff shortages played a part? I did ring the hotel twice the day before my arrival, once there was no reply and the second I got a very curt "no B & B staff here goodbye!" An email via Booking.com did get a reply the next day though
4.1
Room was spacious and comfortable, with a really nice shower.
Lunch served downstairs was great
Everyone was really friendly
Location was great- right on the beach
Would definitely book again
4.1
1. The shower!
2. The ability to put a family of 4 adults 3 kids in rooms in close proximity to eachother
3. The parking facility and ease
4. The welcoming member of staff - friendly, cheery, clear on directions and instructions etc
(Feedback from others in group - I slept like a log with no problems..)
1. Limited fan location / use in the room due to cord length and limited plug locations
2. My MIL said her bed was "lumpy and uncomfortable" (single) (the other three adults in two different beds didn't have the same complaint)
3. The rooms are on floor 1 and 2 - my MIL struggled with the number of stairs to access (2.5 flights, with handrail, nice and wide, with landings - think it's only an issue if you have issues with stairs generally but now you know)
4.1
Room view was wonderful, breakfast good. Location brilliant
Less stairs
