Our stay in Bass Harbor could not have gone any better. A beautiful large house that easily accommodated our 6 adults. The house is much larger than it appears in pictures, with all the amenities you will need. Our communications with Bob were excellent. Bob was a wealth of information on advising us things to do on our short stay. The only issue we had was the stay was too short!!! Thank you, Bob and Mary, for being such great hosts.

Our stay was wonderful. House is as described, and area is so convenient to Bass Harbor activities. Most places in Acadia or Bar Harbor are within 30-40 minutes. Would definitely like to stay here again.

Communication with Bob, the property owner, was excellent and made the entire process extremely easy. The property was modern, clean and well stocked with anything you may need during your stay including equipment to cook lobster and seafood boils. The life safety features of the property to include well labeled emergency shut-offs, compliant smoke detection, and accessible fire extinguishers added peace of mind. Overall, an excellent experience!

We enjoyed this property so much! It was well stocked with everything we might need to make our stay comfortable. The owner was very responsive. A storm passed through just before check in and power/internet was out. Luckily everything was restored before check in but the owner, Bob, was proactive in letting us know so we could make plans for dinner etc. if needed.
Close to Acadia and Bar Harbor.
Loved the deer greeting us every time we came back to house and when we woke in the morning.
Highly recommend!

An excellent stay for 7 adults. House was as described online. Bob was responsive and we took advantage of his supply of firewood. We also used one of his bikes for one of our several bike rides. The local Seafood Ketch restaurant was great for lunch and dinner. Cadillac Mountain was a highlight. Hikes were pretty much everywhere. Bar Harbor was extremely busy with parking difficult to find.

Bob and Mary were perfect. We appreciated the quick and accommodating responses that they provided. When we arrived at their lovely home, we couldn't help but notice the bottle of wine. We saved it for a delicious spaghetti dinner that my wife served a few nights later. The numerous and spacious rooms allowed our party of six with two pooches to easily fit. We would certainly like to return in the future!!! Thank you again, Bob and Mary!!!!

Property was very clean and we love the location on the quiet side of the island. It was close to all of our favorite places. Bob was amazing to work with. Great communication, no surprises.

Nice spot that was perfect for 8 adults. The kitchen and dinning room were the perfect layout of family dinners and cooking together. Bass Harbor is a nice little walk down the road and a great little working harbor. We had a great time.

Or stay was peaceful, the neighborhood is quiet and hard to see through the trees. Bass Harbor hasn’t changed much over the years compared to much of the island. The house is bigger than it looks in the photos and provided five of us with two dogs great accommodations for the long weekend. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Had a great week- house suited us perfectly, very happy to be able to have our dogs with us! Really appreciated the ability to cordon off the kitchen and back decks.

The property owner was very responsive and the home was comfortable and equipped with everything for a perfect stay. We loved Bass Harbor. There were sights and activities to take advantage of, but not touristy. The home's location provided quick and easy acces to Acadia NP. Our family of 5 ((plus a puppy) had plenty of room; the home was thoughtfully equipped with careful attention to details. We appreciated all the amenities (including the puppy) for a memorable visit. The hosts even provided a rack full of brochures describing things to do and places to see..... very thoughtful! We will plan to return!

Bob and Mary were very communicative and helpful. We thought the house was warm and comfortable for our entire family. One thing to mention is there is no air conditioning which was only an issue the first day. The rest of the stay the weather was cool so we were very comfortable. We are very thankful for all the information that was left for us, maps, hiking guides, fun things to do. Would recommend going to Peter trouts it was the best food! Thank you for everything :)

Summer trip
The house was nice and extremely well stocked. Nice pots/dishes/etc(especially the lobster pot and outside cooker). It was a nice secluded spot. The house isn’t flashy which makes it feel like a home away from home. Bob was an extremely good communicator and answered questions extremely promptly. He is definitely a super host.
Note: if there is no wind the mosquitoes are very bad. This only happened the last day we were there. But there were bad everywhere we went that day. No reflection on the property just a heads up to bring bug spray.

A beautiful home close to the ocean
This is a beautiful home with all the amenities you could ask for. It was sparkling clean with plenty of room. The children especially enjoyed the downstairs with foosball table. The home is close to the ocean and we took a family nature boat cruise out of the harbor on a beautiful sunny afternoon. We would definitely stay her again.

An amazing house with fantastic hosts
We just returned from a long weekend spent in beautiful and scenic Bass Harbor, Maine. Our hosts, Bob and Mary could not have been more hospitable. They checked in without being obtrusive and their house is well-appointed with everything a guest could need. We were very comfortable there and everyone was happy. I highly recommend this house and these hosts.

Great stay Memorial Day weekend
We had a great visit to the Acadia area. This property was well located on the quiet side of MDI but near plenty of dining, hikes, etc. Bob and Mary were very easy to communicate with and the house met our expectations.

Excellent stay for Acadia
We were looking for a place close to bar harbor as we were going to visit Acadia National park. This house was fantastic. The owners were so thoughtful, answered all of our questions and the house was so nice and clean. We had our 2 1/2 year old daughter and she loved the children’s room and the fact that it was stocked with some small toys. That was a lifesaver for us in the evenings after dinner. We had brought a few toys but since we flew it’s not like we could have bought a ton. We also walked 30 minutes to the lighthouse to watch the sunset instead of dealing with the parking situation so that was awesome. We had a mama deer and baby deer visit as we drank coffee one morning and it was so nice to just get away and unplug.

Lovely home in Bass Harbor
We had a great stay at the house. It was clean and had everything we needed. It is close to Acadia National Park and is just down the road from the Bass Harbor Lighthouse. The neighborhood is quiet and spread out. We would definitely stay here again.

Great family setup
The home was a perfect setup for our family. Kids and adults had their own space and plenty of room to stretch out. The location was perfect for all of the activities we had planned in the area and served as a peaceful retreat for down time. We would absolutely recommend and would stay again.

Super Host, Super House
There is a reason Bob and Mary are super hosts. They provided everything we could possibly need during our stay, from a great house to restaurant recommendations and everything in between. We can only hope that all future VRBO stays will be as wonderful as this one was.

Great location, house and owner
Bass Harbor area seems to be much quieter than the Bar Harbor area. Location is great. House feels secluded, but is close enough to walk to harbor and restaurants. Short drive to lighthouse and several easy hiking areas. The house was very nice. It had plenty of dishes, pans, utensils, dish soap.... Everything worked great in the house, and we cooked dinner at the house 3-4 nights. The owners were helpful reaching out before the trip, checking in early and at the end, and offered to help at any point during the trip. They left a binder in the house with suggestions, and so we didn't need to reach out to them during our week. We would certainly rent this house again.

More than happy
Our stay in ME was our 2nd week of vacation. Bob and Mary's home was far better than our previous vrbo in Cape cod. The house was clean, accommodating, well laid out and in a great neighborhood. It made having the dogs very easy and we were able to do things with them, but also feel safe and comfortable leaving them at the house. The kids loved the "kid" room and all the adults were comfortable as well. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!

Fun Times
The house was perfect for our needs: 3 couples with varying interests--we hiked, biked, swam, sauntered, shopped, and of course ate, finding everything we needed at the house! Thanks.

Great House
My family of 5 adults and 2 young kids had a wonderful week at this house. We loved staying on the quiet side of the island and found lots of trails and places to explore just a short drive from the house. It provided the perfect home base for our trip. The main entrance of Acadia and Bar Harbor were about 30 minutes away but this didn't bother us at all. We easily made this drive once a day but also really enjoyed the pockets of Acadia close to the house. Definitely recommend hiking Beech Mountain and spending time at Echo Lake.
The house was even better in person than the pictures depict and provided the perfect amount of space for our family. The kids loved their "kids room" full of toys for young children. The kitchen was fully equipped with anything you might need and was nicely setup. We spent a lot of time around the dining room table which was huge and outside around the firepit. There were lots of guidebooks, maps, and information which we found helpful. It was nice to have access to the shed to store our bikes for the week.
The owners were so welcoming and provided great suggestions for spending time on the island. You can tell they want to make sure guests have a wonderful vacation. I would definitely recommend renting this house and would stay there again for a future trip.

Fantastic Memorial weekend in Acadia
We had the best time spending Memorial weekend in this incredible house. The cleanest, the most well-equipped rental we've ever stayed in, and all-around charming. Great location for hiking in Acadia and enjoying the area. Bob and Mary are lovely hosts, always just a text away for anything we needed

Awesome Stay in Bass Harbor
Home was very clean and well laid out. Lots of nice touches, including a fire pit (which we used almost every night), a nice Weber grill, and an outdoor lobster cooker. The shed was very convenient and allowed us to lock our bikes and keep them out of the weather. We loved that the home is on the ‘quiet side’ of the island, yet close enough to many hikes and carriage trails for biking. Owner was very easy to communicate with, and always responded to emails within hours.

Very pleased. Nice property for those with dogs
Owner is genuinely interested in your good experience. The house is a great size for a family and is very dog friendly. There were thoughtful touches everywhere to make you feel immediately comfortable.
The house was a good value on a nice quiet street just off nice quiet Bass Harbor. Peaceful, and a quick drive to anywhere on the island.

Clean, Spacious, Quiet Location
Well stocked with all the utensils needed to cook & dine(including cooking lobsters) and everything had complete, easy to understand instructions. All the regional information provided in the 'bookcase" was a huge plus in picking hikes & activities. We had 7 adults & a dog and never felt cramped. Very good choice if you have a dog.
The host was outstanding. Available & informative.
Overall 5 stars!
