Location, friendly staff, food was good
Room was far too warm, no view. Leisure pool was tired looking and lots of safety hazards.
Sharp unprotected wire end in pool supporting lane floats. Hairdryers never been cleaned and clogged up at the intake end, fire hazard.

The breakfast was very good, bit a holiday highlight in fact, good variety of foodstuffs, ordering speciality eggs, florentine and salmon for me, and the buffet full Irish alongside.
I was pleased with the leisure facilities; the gym, the only one in Killaloe, is not super polished but is better than average for a hotel for weightlifting equipment, free weights, bars benches and exercise space - enough to keep the local gym goers happy who were the primary users of it. Also decent running machines, a bike or two, and a couple of Concept 2 rowing machines for the cardio folks. The sauna and steam room were great - fortunately they were recently back working again after being out of action for some weeks or months apparently. The pool slide was fun, surprisingly quick. As a swimmer I had no pool safety concerns; I was curious about the deep end depth when chatting to a local in the steam room before using it - 1.5m was clearly signed as expected so the tragic incident a few days later probably wasn't related to that.
No lift so elderly people were struggling with the stairs from reception and getting help from other guests with their luggage if they were lucky. I realised afterwards I'd not offered to help an old couple with their luggage as they stood aside for me at the top of the stairs so I didn't like myself for that, someone else offered before I thought of it.
The leisure facility lockers weren't lockable - that's a concern so I put my valuables in a bag poolside.

Great location by the river Shannon. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Food was very good and reasonably priced, breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice.
Bathroom has rain shower head which wasn’t very powerful.

Good location.
swimming pool with slide was great fun for the kids
At the time it was being renovated and there wasn’t many places to sit and have a drink but I know that’s just a temporary thing

Breakfast was very good, the slide in the pool is excellent. Food and staff really good also.
Rooms were noisy at night so had interrupted sleep. That was the one thing that hopefully can be remedied but not sure how.

Stunning lake view, friendly staffs and delicious food
Room soundproofing not good, too noisy as we could hear people passing through the corridor which distrubed our sleep quite few times. Room heating was completely turned off, maunal operation. No lift. No door stopper which was painful.

Lovely location and great view of the lake.
Breakfast was superb. So much choice and plenty of it.
The pool and hot tub had so much chlorine in them that we had to leave within 5 miniutes. The hot tub was full of scummy looking suds too.

What a fantastic hotel.
From check in to check out the staff were excellent - well trained and very helpful. The guests were a lovely mix of families and couples or all ages.
I think that when you check into a hotel you can pick up what your stay will be like from the general atmosphere when you arrive. There were happy guests in the lobby who chatted to the children while we were checking in.
Food choices were great and the Pizza Shack was a great option for the kids. Breakfast was great and the pancake maker was a great addition. Even though there were breakfast slots there was no rush on us unlike some other hotels.
The leisure centre was very family friendly and the water slide was a massive hit.
All of us really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back.
The changing rooms in the leisure centre could do with a bit of a facelift.
