Welcome to Sugar Beach Resort Penthouse 34, one of the best ocean view condos in Maui. The top floor lanai is very private and looks out on endless ocean and 5 miles of white sandy beach - perfect for peaceful morning or evening walks. Watch the whales during whale season (January to April) without leaving the residence, and experience some of the best sunsets in Maui from the balcony. The ocean view is spectacular!!

PH34 is rented directly from the owners. The kitchen and bath were completely remodeled in August, 2018 with all new stainless steel appliances and beautiful quartz counters in the kitchen for a very clean and modern feel. It has all new very comfortable furniture including a king size bed with a new mattress and bedding (April, 2018). The sleeper sofa is also new with queen size upgraded mattress for your comfort. The condo also has a smart flat screen TV and a bluetooth JBL speaker for you to easily enjoy music directly from your phone while making dinner in the kitchen and enjoying the view. We have provided free wifi as well for your convenience.

Our condo also has central air conditioning which is rare for maui condos - keep the inside at whatever temperature makes you the most comfortable. The condo is tastefully equipped with everything you will need including boogie boards, beach umbrella, beach towels, beach chairs etc.

The complex has elevators for easy access from the condo to the beach and beautiful oceanfront pool, spa, and BBQs. The grounds are manicured and the grass leads you right to be beach, only steps away. There is an activities booking company in the lobby for you to take advantage of Maui's sights and excursions, or just relax all week and do nothing.

Sugar Beach is conveniently located on the west side of Maui. It is approximately 15 minutes from the airport (and Costco!), 15-20 minutes north of Wailea and 30 minutes south of Kaanapali and Lahaina.

Free parking including covered parking and no resort fees or hidden fees. Finally, please note Sugar Beach Resort closes their pool the second week of September each year for annual maintenance. Please inquire about discounted rates for this week.

Beautiful unobstructed water view. Veranda and apartment exactly as described. Spotlessly cleaned. Well equipped kitchen and beach supplies and easy communication with host. Would recommend.

Thouroughly enjoyed our last days on Maui. The location was perfect, in the hub of everything, close to restaurants, airport and a beautiful long beach right outside our doors. The added bonus of the beach chairs was perfect for our day spent at Big Beach. A perfect end to a vacation of a lifetime!

From the view to the location to the condition of the condo…everything was perfect. Pool was great - never crowded. Parking was abundant. Owner was very responsive throughout. Walk right onto the beach and take a left for a 5 min walk to Sugar Beach Bakery (a must). Looking forward to returning.

Great property and a great location. This unit is a penthouse that faces the ocean perfectly! Nicely appointed kitchen (we like to cook). Also, a very comfy bed and pillows. Sound silly but a nice mattress and pillows make a difference after a long day of hiking, beaching and exploring. We will book again for sure!

We have stayed at Sugar Beach five times and this was by far our favorite condo we have stayed in. Communication was quick and check in easy. The condo itself is very clean, furnished with contemporary and comfortable furniture and very nice kitchen amenities. The towels and sheets were new and soft and the bed itself was super comfy! We appreciated the beach gear as well! As always, the view at Sugar Beach is perfect as is the beach. We had a turtle swim next to us one day! Such a great location too…easy access to everything but quiet. We will always come back to Sugar Beach and would, without hesitation book Kevin’s place again!! Thank you!!

We are two adults and an infant, and stayed here for a week in nov-dec. The view from the balcony is magnificent, and the sunsets are incredible over the ocean. The unit is indeed directly over the beach, with a few feet of lawn and palm trees in between. It is conveniently located to everything in south Maui, and easy access to and from the airport and everything around there. And of course getting around the rest of Maui from here is also easy. The kitchen worked great for our needs. We enjoyed the building's hot tub / pool, and walking along the adjacent beach. We also appreciated and used the provided beach chairs and umbrellas. Note if you are traveling with an infant, we had to bring our own pack-n-play crib. We had a great time and would definitely stay again!

Our stay was good but I doubt we would book there again. Since we were unable to stay in our original west Maui location, we had to make this work at such short notice. Condo was adequately furnished with a great view. The owners were nice and were responsive. Only two gripes were the following: 1. Was a small space, esp in the bedroom and bathroom. Space was limited and I somewhat had to live out of my suitcase while offering up the dresser space to my wife. 2. For half of the time, there was a sewer like smell (which was really bad at times). We came to find out it was from the rotting decaying fish carcuses from a fish pond that was drying up across the street. It’s for this reason I wouldn’t book this place again or any other unit within Sugar Beach Resort. We chose to travel more around the island to avoid this nasty smell. It was unavoidable around the entire complex (pool, beach, balcony, parking lot… etc) when the wind would pickup.

PH34 has amazing Lanai views right on the ocean. The condo is equipped with the necessities needed for your stay. We had friends who stayed on the second floor and got wind blown sand on their lanai daily. Being up in the PH we had no issues with sand. Condo is very comfortable. Would definitely stay in this unit again if available for our future Maui trip. Kevin was a super host!!!

It was a great location. The beach and pool area were awesome and that’s where we spent most of our time. After the fires, even though we weren’t in danger. We tried to change our flights nothing was available. Our checkout time was 11am and our flight was at 9pm. Our original plan was to spend all that day in Lahaina. Since that all changed I reached out to Kevin to see if we could get a late checkout. He responded immediately and said he’ll check a few things and get back to me. A short time later he emailed and said his guests coming in that day cancelled. He changed the housekeeping and we could stay until time for our flight. We were so relieved and thankful. We would definitely stay there again.

Wanted to take our teen boys to catch some waves. This condo was a great location- walking distance to the ABC store for quick snacks and amazing shaved ice at Ululani’s. Condo was neat and tidy, stocked with plenty of kitchen supplies to make our meals to save a couple bucks. Bathroom also came with plenty of toiletries and beauty supplies. Highly recommend!

This was our Second Time staying at Sugar Beach Resort. It’s a perfect Location for getting around the island . Awesome Beachfront penthouse condo. Having Beach towels, chairs, boogie boards & umbrellas is great addition. We will stay here again if it’s available when we come back.

We had aa great stay at this penthouse condo! It was so convenient to all the activities that we had planned. Sugar Beach is a long beach that is great to walk along. Sugar Bay Resort is an older condo complex but this unit has been renovated and looks great! Well stocked with all you need!

Everything was wonderful. Great location, the condo was what we expected. However, we were not told that we needed to register with the office. The office reached out to us on the third day. Everything was fine and we didn’t get our car towed. We would definitely go back.

The view from the condo is hard to match or beat. It’s also on one of the most walkable beaches. The condo has been refreshed, but oddly they chose to have you walk through the bathroom to get to the bedroom which is not conducive to full privacy if that’s an issue for you. It is terribly windy at this location in the spring, some days uncomfortably so. I had the back of a lounger blow up from a gust and hit me on the head! We understood that it is not this way at other times of the year, so take note. There is a fully stocked kitchen and coffee maker, which was lovely. Compared to other condos we have stayed at, especially for an almost 2 week stay, we were disappointed in some of the everyday supplies that were left for our use. E.g, they have a note to remove the garbage often to avoid small bugs but left only two extra garbage bags, so we had to buy some. They also only left 3 dishwasher pods and three washing machine pods. Again, had to purchase some because with the limited supply of towels these were gone quickly. The air conditioning never fully cool the condo or bedroom, which was disappointing. While the bath towels are limited, they do thoughtfully provide beach towels, a couple of Bahama chairs and a small soft cooler, boogie board, etc. The location is a prefect jumping off point for seeing the sights Maui has to offer. The view from the lanai and location on the beach are the highlights of this condo.

We enjoyed our stay here even though the weather was terrible while in Maui. It was nice while we were stuck in doors to have a nice place to watch movies or sit on the lanai and read, while enjoying the sounds of the waves.

We were disappointed that the entire pool area was closed for 21/2 days during our one week stay (no explanation other than "unexpected repairs"; unit owner did give us a credit on our rental for the inconvenience); we also had problems with the TV/cable system; Marco (on-site manager) was very helpful in getting that situation resolved. We were surprised at the traffic congestion on Maui and the Kehei area in particular (yes, we were in 'high' season), but waiting thru two or three cycles at traffic lights was not unusual. Bottom line, there are just too many vehicles on this small island!

The view is fantastic and it has a good central location in Maui if you plan on traveling to other parts of the island. The layout is odd, you have to go through the bathroom to get to the bedroom. They skimp on a few things like no kleenex, only 3 dishwasher tablets for a week stay, no luggage stands, and it is one of the only condos in the building that has no patio blinds (not a big deal if you get up early). Our check-in code was wrong, but that was resolved quickly after talking with the property manager. Having a washing machine in the unit was a nice bonus and a good way to lighten your suitcase.
