About this house rental
Crabbs Park House (originally one very large house and now a semi detached property) is a typical 17th Century Georgian Farm House. with stunning sea views! It is located on an elevated position overlooking Goodrington Church/Waterside and the sea vistas beyond.
Crabbs Park was the original farmhouse once Hunts Cider then later Whiteways Winery.
Winter longer option available min 3 months but negotiable. October 1st onwards - Great xmas house
This is a very spacious, cosy and well-loved home for us, which initially we are renting out over the summer. There is a very large original beamed top (2nd floor) bedroom introducing a new en suite shower, toilet and sink. This room has a double bed at one end and 2 singles at the other with a curtain if required.
The first floor bedrooms (super king and a double) both have sea views.
The lounge has a multi-fuel burner (no fuel provided), with a ceiling with the original acanthus and circular rose pattern mouldings and a chandelier. We have stayed in a lot of holiday homes where the lounge seating is not comfortable, but in Crabbs Park House you can relax in either the 4 or 2 seater leather sofas or the attention seeking rocking chair.
To the rear of the lounge is the dining table, which can seat 8.
The lounge and each bedroom have TVs, the lounge (48’’) and also DVD player. Free wifi
Hope for good weather and sit out on the front decking which gets the last of the evening sun behind and look out into the bay and watch the cargo boats, sailing ships and ferries cruise by. Rear garden has a very secluded patio (sun trap) and new large decking for alfresco dining .
The house is situated in a very quiet cul-de-sac with main bus links at the end of the road across the whole of Torbay or easy access by car to the beaches and all of the other many tourist attractions to suite all tastes.
As keen walkers (and cyclists) we can walk from the house on a couple of beautiful – predominantly - off road paths that lead down to the coast path/beaches (20 minutes) where you can turn right to Brixham (2 hours) and Dartmouth (6 hours!!) or left to Paignton (30 minutes), Torquay (1.5 Hours) and Teignmouth.
Parking on drive for 2 cars, plus lawn if dry or on road in quiet cul-de-sac if needed.

The property was just what we needed for our family. We had a wonderful holiday, everyone was comfortable. There was plenty of space for everyone to have their own space as well as spend time together.
The house is situated ideally for the supermarkets, walks and bus routes. The neighbours were lovely and very helpful as well as the hosts.
The house has loads of character and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare a nice meal. The area is very nice and quiet as well. We relaxed as soon as we got there. We definitely recommend this property!

We had a great week staying here. The location is really convenient for many of the local attractions. Lucy, our host was really helpful with suggestions of places to visit and was very responsive when we had questions. The house is really nice, feels like you’re staying in the owners home rather than a holiday cottage. There was everything we needed and the house was clean and impeccably tidy. Evenings in front of the log fire with a bottle of wine were very pleasant. Faultless experience. Look forward to maybe coming again in the future.

A lovely home from home
We stayed for 10 days for a family holiday with grandparents, uncle and 2 and 4 year old. The owners couldn't have made us feel more welcome or supported during our stay, providing thoughtful information personal to us.
The beautifully decorated, comfortable house sits in a very quiet residential area with great views and friendly, knowledgeable neighbours. There's easy access to a good bus service and footpath to beaches if you're prepared for Devon hills. Almost everything we could have wanted in the house was there from cooking ingredients to wood for the washing machine fire basket (Who knew?!). The absence of a teapot became quite a talking point as everything else was there (I believe this has now been remedied!). There are some steep steps and a drop in the back garden which needed careful monitoring with the very young/old but otherwise quite child friendly.
We were never short of choices of things to do for every generation within local reach and despite being in peak season there were no problems with crowds or queues. Our best days out were kayaking at broadsands beach, the round robin trip with steam train to Dartmouth/ boat to Totnes / open top bus back to Paignton and the Exe estuary cycle trail.
We all felt as if we could have stayed longer if we'd had the time and would love to return. I'd definitely recommend this house as a great base for going out exploring south Devon and a comfortable retreat if you'd rather stay in. Everything a homeaway home should be!
