About this apartment rental

Absolutely clean basement apartment that is totally renovated. We replaced the kitchen with a breakfast area that includes a table, chairs, microwave, small refrigerator and coffee maker. Perfect for people who want to eat and snack but not fuss with cooking. The living room has a nice sofa, matching chair and wide screen TV. It is comfortable for your short term stay with more room than most hotels. Driveway parking is included. In a quiet and safe family neighborhood yet only one block to buses which take you to MBTA in 5 minutes with access to all Boston. If driving; downtown Boston, Harvard Square, MIT or Tufts can be reached within 12 minutes, Rt 93 in 2 minutes. Minimum stay 3 nights April-Sep 2022. Must down and climb stairs-this is a basement apartment.

We had a wonderful stay. The host was very accommodating. The property was extremely clean. The location is extremely close to the bus line which gets you to the subway orange line very quickly. I had never ridden a subway before and was able to figure out the system to this location with ease.The property was also extremely quiet. Nice selection of quick dining options close by.

We enjoyed our stay at Claudia and Tim’s place. It is just like the pictures on the website. Our main complaint was the stairs down into the basement apartment. They are very narrow and there is no railing. (To be honest, there’s really no room for one.) There is a landing that you step on and around the door to turn on a light switch to help you see to go down the stairs. If you come in at night like we usually did, you have to be careful you don’t miss a step reaching around for the switch. (We started just leaving it on.) It is also hard to get up and down these stairs with luggage.

We were looking for a place to stay when we visit our granddaughter. Location was just what we were looking for. However, the beds were terrible. We only needed a place to sleep and one bed was a lumpy mattress and the other was a coil box spring covered with a thin mattress pad. The shower was all very small. We are not large people but there was no room to even turn around. It was about 2’ by 3’. We will not be returning on out next trip.

This apartment was a perfect home base for me for a stay centered in Somerville. Clean, quiet, walkable. The 89 bus is minutes away and gets you to Davis Square easily and from there you can go anywhere.

Arriving was difficult because it is a very dark street and hard to read or even see the house numbers. The light at the door of the apartment is motion sensor so the light was off when I arrived and I couldn’t see where I was going. Had to call Claudia to find the door. The television had terrible reception and I could only watch maybe three or four channels regularly and they don’t pay for cable. Normally that is fine but the reception was terrible. Couldn’t even watch the Celtics game. Lots of stomping upstairs. At time it sounded like furniture was being dragged on the floor. It was loud and annoying during my stay. Found two centipedes in the bathroom the third day I was there. Made sure I wore slippers in the apartment. Lastly, need a car to get around to places to eat. Took a lot of Ubers. Wouldn’t stay here again.

The property very small, especially the bathroom. The shower was the same size as one from a travel trailer. The beds were comfortable enough-that was nice. Communicating with the difficult. I had asked about good places to eat around the area and never heard from them. They did leave us some potato chips and tea bags though. Next time we’ll stay somewhere else.

My daughter and I stayed here while I helped her move back in to Northeastern about 5 miles away. Claudia and Jim's small lower level flat was perfect for us as a home-base to get to and from campus quickly. Also, nicely within walking distance of Somerville restaurants and parks. Overall, very clean and quiet and Jim and Claudia were easy to communicate with and helpful with any questions we had. I would definitely consider staying here again under similar circumstances

Just what we needed.

This was the second time that we have stayed in this property. We were in town to help our son and daughter-in-law with child care for the week. They don't have the room for us in their home, so this was the perfect spot for us. It is a 15 minute walk between this property and our son's. My wife was able to nanny at their place while I stayed behind and worked remotely. The internet is good and the place, overall, is comfortable. The owners are very nice and accomodating.

This apartment was perfect for our stay. We did not need kitchen facilities (although we did take their recommendation and have breakfast at the Brazilian Pastry Shop down the street) and we paid a bit more for a roll-away bed in the living room for my sister. We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was cute and the location is in a quiet neighborhood. The walking distance to the subway to get to Freedom Trail is not that far away. There is a great little park near by with an amazing public swimming pool for your kids and there is an ice cream place not too far away either where you can grab a cone on your way back from you walk from the subway. Claudia and her husband were great hosts and extremely friendly. I would highly recommend this little apartment because of the location and the history of the homes in the area. Some have been there since the 1800's. I could live there in that community!

Property exactly as described, in a pleasant established neighbourhood. Easy access to public transport to downtown Boston. Comfortable and clean. Hosts provide abundant local useful information, even bus timetables. Also provided tea, coffee, cookies and a couple of bottles of water . Microwave and small refrigerator great for a snack, but you have to go out for meals. Never quite got the knack of adjusting shower temperature, but this was not a major issue. We would definitely consider staying here again.

My husband and I completely enjoyed our stay at the basement apartment. It was so very clean, and the furnishings were updated and comfortable. The description given in the ad is accurate. Everything you need for a short stay is supplied. Your entry/exit is completely private so no one is disturbed, regardless of your schedule. The area is safe and public transportation is close. A special touch was the snacks and bottled water that greeted us upon arrival. We do recommend these accommodations.
