#315 is a beautiful, light, bright, spacious 2 Bedroom 2 Bath 3rd Floor Condominium with gorgeous views of the Gulf of Mexico. One of the closer units to the water, it's quiet location offers privacy and very close access to stairs, elevator and most importantly, the beach ! For an added degree of comfort and safety, after Covid, a new induct Mercury free home air purification system was installed to provide the cleanest indoor air possible.

Our family enjoyed an incredible vacation at Sand Cay (unit 315) and we'd recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation. The unit was perfectly clean and spacious, and it's great that they supplied beach towels and beach toys. The beach is stunning (we saw dolphins right in front of us!), clean and not crowded at all. We almost never used the pool (which is nice) because we're beach-goers, but it's available. There's also a tennis court (can also play basketball and pickle ball).If you are looking to spend time in the area for a relaxing family vacation, you need not look any further. For us, the convenience of having our own place rather than a hotel room was much better. Just know that Longboat Key compared to Siesta Key (a little south) and Anna Maria Island (closer, but just north) are busier with more shops, restaurants etc. But, you're a 5 minute drive to Publix and about 10-minutes to Saint Armand Circle that has lots of restaurants and shops. We'd return for sure! Thanks to the office staff as well who were both friendly and helpful!

What a vacation! Our family absolutely loved Sand Cay, and unit 315 was perfect! The weather was gorgeous and the amenities were everything we needed. The unit was fully equipped with everything to cook, relax, and venture down to the beach and pool. We vacation a lot with our children and this unit was by far the cleanest, most updated and calming place we have stayed at in a very long time. My husband and I enjoyed playing cards on the deck at night, and the kids loved the Tic-Tac-Toe set. We can’t wait to come back to unit 315 for our next vacation.

Stayed in this rental the first week of August and from the minute we opened the door we fell in love with it. This unit is close to the water and it is very spacious and bright. The owner takes a lot of pride in his he probably because everything looks new with no ware and tear. The bed is so comfortable and i actually ordered the pillows that were on the bed.Owner provided tents for the beach and a beach cart that you can pull your beach stuff inI have rented other units at this property and this by far has been my favorite . I will book this property again.

With the understanding that the property is used mostly as a rental, for the price we would expect a better decor and more comfortable mattresses. The office manager was kind enough to get pillow top, but even then one of the guests was better off sleeping on the sofa. Workmanship on laminate floors was sloppy. Have been staying at this resort for over 25 years.

What a great week! The beach was beautiful, my kids even swam near a manatee! The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. We felt right at home from the Keurig to the cooking utensils, the quick wifi and plentiful towels, even the cute starfish Tic Tac Toe and the beach themed decor. The on site laundry mat, shuffle board courts, and pool added to the fun and comfort of this vacation. Honestly felt more like the Caribbean than Florida! Check out Columbia, Mar Vista and the Chart house for good food and beautiful views. My kids are already begging to go back to Sand Cay unit 315!

Loved the area and the property was well maintained (beach, pool, bathrooms, shower, landscaping, etc.). The unit 315 is in need of a remodel (paint, flooring, new furniture, art, etc.). The hall/guest bath was nicer than the master bath, and the kitchen was small and closed in - should be opened up to the dining room to maximize the view and the natural lighting. But the bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay - including a beach umbrella and beach cooler. Enjoyed our stay.

It's not a full ocean view, but it was just enough to sit on the balcony and have breakfast watching the water. That's all we needed. The unit had some beach gear, which we found very useful. Communication was excellent. We truly loved the beach and the staff at Sand Cay are wonderful. The unit is another story. When we first entered the door we were hit with a horrific smell. We thought airing the place out would help. It didn't. While the place appeared to be clean, opening the blinds and letting the light in told a different story. One of the kitchen cabinets was broken, a blind in the bedroom literally fell off when we opened them, the toilet paper holders in both bathrooms fell out of the wall, some of the outlets didn't hold plugs, the mattresses - toppers helped a little, but they need to be replaced. The sofas had little to no cushioning. There's so much renovation required the list is lengthy. If you're looking to simply have a roof over your head, this place will work. If you have health issues (such as asthma) we would not recommend staying here. It's unfortunate since the location and staff are wonderful.

We had a noise issue the first couple of nights; some other guests talked loudly until early morning hours. Perhaps they didn't realize their voices would carry throughout the common area. A few suggestions would be to replace the electricial sockets. They all were old and would not hold a standard plug, they just fell out so it was hard to charge our phones etc. Needs a new light in the kitchen. There is not alot of light to work in that small area. The fridge took awhile yo cool food but that may just be because we put alot of food in there when we arrived. Perfect condo for family beach vacation
We really enjoyed staying in this condo. It was so convenient for beach time- just walk down the stairs and you are right there, and beach towels, umbrella, chairs are provided. The condo was well-appointed and had everything we needed for the week and was perfectly clean. The office staff on-site were friendly and helpful and the beach itself was fabulous - not crowded, water was beautiful and we actually had a manatee swim up close to us!

Wonderful getaway to Longboat Key
The Sand Cay property was a wonderful spot for my 17-year old daughter and her BFF and I to stay for a few days. The third floor location gave us a nice view of the beach from the patio and dining room for gorgeous sunsets. The accommodations were a bit dated but the simple ‘Florida’ feel actually matched the established and community atmosphere that the location provides — the community pool, shuffle board and grills and lovely landscaping really added to the nice community feel. The space wasn’t as large as appears in photos, but for the three of us it was just fine. We were very impressed with how clean and orderly everything was - kudos to the cleaning crew! The amenities in the kitchen and the main tv were easy to find and use. I was disappointed that the laundry facilities were shared - we are accustomed to having laundry in the unit to use, but this ended up being just fine too. Easy access to the beach and the availability of beach chairs and towels was so convenient. We had a fabulous time and everything was made so easy for us - thank you!

Good location, tired property
Don’t get us wrong, we enjoyed our stay. Unit was very clean, partial view is nice, access to the beach is good. Bedrooms are tiny, really only sleeps 4 (2 other “beds” are older couches in LR). Decor/cabinets/furniture is quite old, faucet in the bathroom is loose, drains are slow, TP holder is falling off the wall. Couldn’t eat on the patio, chairs look dirty/moldy. We spent most of our time away or on the beach. We agree, we would stay at Sandy Cay again, but perhaps in a different unit. Not to be unkind, but renters should know what they’re paying for.
