What a wonderful little gem this cabin was!
It was absolutely perfect! The center porch was a phenomenal space regardless of the weather. It was fun to play games in when it was raining and perfect to watch the loons after a busy day!
Everything was spotless, the kitchen had everything we could possible need, beds were all very comfortable, plenty of toys and games for the kids, the outdoor equipment was all perfect. The location was easy to find and not far from things to do.
We will definitely be back!

On the lake? You can watch the water lap at the shore from inside the boat-like living room with its large floor to ceiling windows, so it almost feels like you're “in”, or at least “on” the lake.
This amazing confabulation of two cabins joined by a screehouse breezeway offers a multitude of locations to enjoy the immediateness of the lake being just steps away. You can sit in the master BR and watch it from there. Rock yourself to sleep on the breezeway without fear of bug bites, or watch it while eating dinner at the dining table, or while cooking in the overly well appointed kitchen. If you're more hardy, you can sit above the lake on the deck, down by the fire pit a foot away from the lake, or out on the swivel bench on the generously proportioned dock.
Sunrises, moonrises, sunsets, and your own personal planetarium are viewable from said dock. As is the invigorating sun waters of the world's best alpine swimming pool. The loons are so close that you may think their ominously haunting calls are coming from inside the house.
The beds are incredibly comfortable and the cabins are as Maine as it gets, all setting the stage for the best vacation you could wish for - rain or shine, hot or cold, alone, with another, or an entire family. This IS as good as it gets, you'll thank your good fortune that you found it.

It was so nice to be steps from the water and have access to a canoe, kayak and SUP. The nice dock, swimming pad and large screened in porch were all great features as well.

Perfect Vacation
Loon Camps was the perfect place for our family. It had everything we needed to enjoy time on the lake and the kiddos had plenty of games to play. The camp was well stocked with blankets when we had a couple of cold days. We'll definitely be back again or find another rental with the same agency.

Great stay at Loon Camps at Waters Edge
Great camp in a beautiful spot on Rangeley Lake. The camp is well appointed with everything you'd expect to make for a great vacation.
We hated to leave!
Also, Morton & Furbish was great. They were professional, courteous and very responsive, especially when we locked ourselves out of camp early one morning! They were there in no time to let us back in.
We highly recommend Loon Camps at Waters Edge and Morton & Furbish!

Loon camp at waters edge
Cute little camps with screen porch and kitchen to share. It comes packed with activities for everyone! We called the office about a light bulb that burnt out and an empty tank for the grill. They were very polite and quick to respond. The walk in beach area and dock were perfect for young kids! The cabin is close to town and shopping. Our family had a great time!

Excellent
Loon Camps at Waters Edge is a beautiful camp on Rangeley Lake. It was a bit on the chilly side, but with the view that we had it didn't matter. Cabins are nicely done, having the two separate cabins give everyone the own space if needed.

Nice, nice spot
Truly inviting property just steps from the shore. There's a fantastic screened-in porch, a wonderful sunroom to hang out or eat in. The only drawback to this property is that if you are a walker it is not conducive to being able to really leave the property as it does abut route 17. That said, otherwise it is totally fabulous.

We enjoyed this lakeside home so much!! The home has all you need! There is a beautiful deck overlooking the lake. The water is magic with an easy walk in and deck. Love the loons at night! The location feels remote but just 5-10 minutes to town. We hiked Angel falls(beautiful) and part of AT to Piaza rock (more challenging but worth it). I would recommend this spot and hope to return!

My family has enjoyed many homes on Rangeley Lake over the past 25 years! We have stayed in many of Rangeley Lakes grand houses when we numbered 10+. I am now coming to Rangeley with a single guest for a week! Loon Camps is far in from #17, so the traffic, noise especially logging truck noise does not interfere with the quiet and calm we all treasure on vacation! The beds are very comfortable, the ventilation is wonderful because of window placement and the lovely large screen porch is divine! I l have never encountered a more well furnished kitchen and only wish I had this incredibly equipped kitchen when I was cooking for 10+.

Our week at Loon Camps
This is an interesting camp. There are two cabins connected by a large screened porch which contained a seating /TV/eating area. The primary cabin had 2 bedrooms, bathroom, seating/eating area and kitchen while the other cabin had 2 sleeping areas and a bathroom. The camp allowed the 2 families to be together while allowing us to have our own space. The camp was well equipped, very nice and the eating area comfortably sat all 8 of us for meals. The water had a nice sandy area for the grandchildren to play in and the dock was well kept.

Best Lil' Camp on the Big Lake!
After 30 years of renting at various homes in Rangeley with our 4 kids, (now all adults), this place outshines them all. Why? Privacy, accessibility to all outdoor adventures, all modern and updated amenities provided including super hot water, lobster pot, working toaster, Wifi and 2 large screens for late night movies; outdoors they provide a very decent canoe, new life jackets (we saw some for the little kids).....etc., etc. This is a great rental for families with small children, kids who need their 'screens' but also set up for a romantic get-away.

Unique camp on the shores of Rangeley Lake
A most impressive concept that brought an obvious vision of the Homeowner to fruition, Loon Camps at Waters Edge was a real delight. Our one week stay was all we had hoped for. The set up of these two conjoined cottages makes for a perfect scenario to provide absolute privacy and separation of the sleeping quarters. Each cottage has its own bathroom and both are connected with a really functional and large screened in area. The kitchen was well appointed and a very effective use of the area. The large dining/living room on the kitchen side cottage has an abundance of glass that affords fantastic views of the lake. The same needs to be said about the view from the largest bedroom as you are able to wake up to a full view of the lake. The water access for swimming and the dock, make for a host of possibilities to enjoy the water. It bears mentioning here that Morton & Furbish are very rewarding to work with as their politeness and professionalism are top notch. They responded to our only issue literally within minutes. The loons, ducks, the eagle - all part of the lake effect that we love so. Hoping to return soon - we would highly recommend this camp to anyone looking for a great place to experience the Rangeley region.

Special Place
Wonderful spot on the lake. Quiet neighbors. Lake equipment in good condition. Perfect jumping off point for some great hiking. Cooler on those chilly nights. Master bedroom bed had higher end mattress that my husband and I could not roll over in without considerable effort. Other beds reported to be comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. My first experience staying in Maine and I am hooked.

Perfect rental on the lake
Stayed at Loon Camps at waters edge for a week with family- great location and had everything for a relaxing week at the lake. Enjoyed use of canoe and paddle board and liked the level entry into the water making it easy for swimming and boating. The cabins are small but make great use of the space with ample beds and dining areas. Loved the screen room connecting the cottages and dubbed it " the gaming room" with many heated cribbage and Yahtzee games played during our stay. Also liked that the cabin was in Oquossoc with grocery supplies available just down the road. Only recommendation may be extra seats in living room for cooler nights - but we all had a terrific time and would love to stay here again. Thanks for great Rangeley memories!

Best Cabin to rent. Especially for large families!
This is our second year staying at Loon Camps at Waters Egde. The owners obviously take tremendous pride in their property as its well maintained and the continue to improve it! This year the moves and extended the dock to give you a second beach and somewhere to jump into the lake. It's also amazing to have a location with Wifi. Everyone always wanted to come hang out at our cabin to catch up on emails and post their beautiful pictures for their friends at home to look at and be jealous they aren't here!
As we go with 3 generations it's great to have the separation of the two cabins so my parents had their own space to retreat to. But the screened in porch made an amazing common area and someone for everyone to gather when it rains yet still feel like you're enjoying the outdoors! We plan to rent every year as long as it's available.
