We had a fantastic stay at Clairview over Labor Day weekend. Harley was very easy to communicate with and a fantastic host. The house was clean and well equipped. All the beds were very comfortable. Watching the sunrises from the screened porch was a real bonus. We would definitely rent this property again if the opportunity arises.

We had a wonder stay! Heed the advice of a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights to ski and spend time away during school vacay week. The road to the house is unpaved and a bit rutted, but we had no problem getting in and out with our SUVs. The scenic drive in and out suits the peaceful home nestled on the hill. The house has plenty of space for the 5 of us with our 8 year-old loving lofted beds. The entryway made getting ready for skiing a breeze. The house is well-situated ~1.5 miles from Sugarbush.
The owner was very accommodating, reaching our prior to our visit, and provided good instructions about the house. I could tell he loved the home and was happy to share it with us.

Base of location for MLK ski trip to Sugarbush. This is a great spot for a ski base, but you should know going in that you need to be prepared for some quirks.
4x4 all wheel drive required in the winter.
The house relies on well water. Bring bottled water for drinking/coffee/tea. This is relatively common in VT ski homes.
The heating is locked on the thermostat at 68 in the winter, but there is a separate gas stove to heat the main living and a fire place with plenty of firewood.
Bathrooms are older, and there is limited hot water. We were recommended no more than two hot showers in an hour, else risk being without hot water for awhile while the tank recharged. Did not have an issue when advice was followed.
Check with the owner if sheets/towels will be provided.
The rest speaks for itself, the beds were comfy, the place has amazing views, it is generally well appointed, there are is only one neighbor, and the location is 5 minutes from the base of Lincoln, and 10 minutes to Mt. Ellen.

Had a great week in Vermont staying at this mountain cabin. 5 min to hit the slopes on Sugarbush! The views from the cabin were incredible and a great fireplace made it super cozy. You do need a 4 WD vehice to get up the dirt road leading to the cabin!! Would recommend!

We had a great stay at Claireview. Harly was quick to communicate and provided us with lots of ideas for the area. Clean, well stocked, comfortable beds, screened porch, and the magnificent view made for a memorable stay. It was a pleasure to be his guest and we would stay again for sure.

We took our honeymoon here! Harley was wonderful and gave us all the information we needed for a great stay! We enjoyed the view, had fires, and cozied up inside when it rained! The area was wonderful- lots of hiking and swimming- and lots of cool spots to eat and hang out- like the Big Picture Theatre (do dinner and a movie) and the Max Taco. Great towns to visit nearby with bakeries and shops. We loved it!

NIce mountain home. Beautiful winter wonderland with wonderful sunrises. We found everything we needed to prepare meals. 4 minute drive to Sugarbush ski resort. Great place to come back to after a day of skiing . We relaxed and played games by the fire. Harley was very helpful about the directions and the check in process. Would be nice to stay other seasons also.

My family had a great time. We spent the week after Christmas and we were lucky to experience snow fall. The cabin has all the essentials and we were able to enjoy the fireplace. Harley was fantastic. He asked about our interests and guided us about the area. He even checked in to make sure we were ok. The cabin is about a mile from the ski lodge Sugar Bush and Mad River is super close as well. We enjoyed the are and would recommend the location. I didn’t find the mountain scary to drive, but would recommend a 4 wheel drive for the last drive up to the home. It was a wonderful family get away

This property was perfect for a weekend enjoying the Mad River Valley. The house is very comfortable, the view is incredible, and the location is hard to beat. Harley was a great host - helpful, communicative, and thoughtful. We're looking forward to returning!

This property is on the side of a mountain overlooking a valley, covered in trees in full color change. It is isolated, with a neighbor, not present. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and fun. The beds were comfortable and this was needed as we were exhausted at the end of every day, with all the places walk/hike, shop, and visit. The living room was a comfortable place to relax and visit. We didn't do much cooking, with all the places to eat in the area. But the kitchen had everything we needed...to include a coffee grinder and toaster oven. They had a grill which we did use. Lovely deck area with lots of seating and a three season porch. We would love to stay here again sometime.

We met another couple to stay at this house. We hiked locally, hiked the long trail, visited Warren Falls and Lake Pleiad, stopped off at Breadloaf, the Chipman Inn and the Ripton General Store on our way to Middlebury. Walked the Stowe Recreation Path. Had creemees at Morse Farm, the Waitsfield Canteen, and Lulus in Vergennes. Rented Ebikes in Burlington and rode the bike path to South Hero where we enjoyed a local winery. Ate dinner at Hen of the Woods Waterbury. Great pizza at American Flatbread at beautiful LaReau Farm. And SO MUCH MORE! We loved returning every evening to Harley’s beautiful home and sipping adult beverages around the fire pit. Every morning we watched the sunrise and were greeted by hummingbirds and baby deer. Couldn’t have had a more lovely time!

My adult children and I had a thoroughly relaxing week here enjoying the area attractions and chillin on the porch taking in the amazing views and natural landscape. The house had everywhere we needed.

This cottage was just as advertised, cozy and quaint and just a 5 min drive to sugarbush. Plenty of things to do right at the cottage. Communication from the owner was first class and above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Harley’s property is perfect. It’s location feels private and remote, but it’s minutes from the sugarbush. The view from the house is gorgeous and it’s clean and comfortable. We would definitely come back.

This deck house is super close to the Sugarbush Mountain base lodge. It's clean and has everything you need to cook - no need to venture out to restaurants unless you really want to!

The pictures do not give the view justice! Only a couple minutes from Sugarbush base and made for the perfect ski weekend. Harley was easy to communicate with and all his info and directions were spot on. Absolutely would rent again!

The property is gorgeous, the rooms are comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped for anyone who plans on cooking meals there... it's all excellent. The host texted us to make sure we arrived safely and see if we needed anything. Our family enjoyed our time there. We highly recommend it!

Great experience dealing with the owner. Awesome location, close to mountain. Gorgeous morning views overlooking the valley.

This was a great stay. The host was amazing and in contact all the time. The TV and couch area were wonderful for the whole family and the kitchen was also clean and well arranged.
I could also see this being an amazing summer spot. There's a sledding area on the golf course nearby too - a treat for kids - and location couldn't be closer to sugarbush. One does need a good car to get up the hill though - especially in icy conditions.

We stayed at Clairview for a few days to celebrate a wedding anniversary and it was exactly what we hoped for. The house was very cozy and clean and had all the amenities we needed - full kitchen, grill, fireplace, washer/dryer, internet & smart tv. The views from the deck were spectacular, especially during peak fall foliage. Harley was a connected host - he called the day before our check in to provide details on getting to and accessing the house, and he checked in mid-way through our stay to see how things were going. The hosts also provided documents ahead of time (and in a binder at the house) with this information as well as recommendations for food and activities nearby that was a helpful resource. The location feels somewhat remote - in a good way - but is actually quite close to everything you could need and want: grocery stores, restaurants/breweries, local shops, hiking. We enjoyed a very relaxing stay at Clairview - it is a great retreat!

We had a great experience staying at Clairview in the Mad River Valley. The house felt like staying at a friend’s house- comfortable, cozy, gorgeous views from the deck. Everything needed was there from the well- furnished kitchen to comfy beds to wood for the fireplace. And a good selection of books for a rainy day ( that we didn’t have).Deer and hummingbirds visited, the surrounding garden was lovely with fall color. All in all a great place to stay and we’d like to return, maybe in winter. Owner Harley could not have been more helpful and responsive.

Gorgeous views with great outdoor deck and seating to enjoy them, plus screened in porch as well. House was spotless and kitchen was stocked with everything you'd ever need and more, including a coffee grinder (didn't use but it was a surprise to see). Great communications with owner.

Nestled in the woods with spectacular views of the nearby mountains this rustic home seems designed to encourage visitors to take in all the surrounding natural beauty. Large picture widows, a wrap around deck , beautiful and lush. garden- all contributed to the enjoyment.
The large living/family room had comfortable seating, games and books galore, Kitchen is small but well equipped ( utensils. pots and pans....). Everything was clean and ready to use!
Comfortable beds ( bring your own sheets and towels as these were not provided). Again- everything was clean!
Harley checked in on us several times during our stay to make sure we were comfortable and to answer any questions. He responded promptly when we reached out.
Overall a great choice. We would recommend Clairview highly.

Clairview was perfect for our spring ski weekend up at Sugarbush. The location is great as it is a 5 minute drive to Lincoln and it is adjacent to the golf course for some good long walks or sledding with the kids. The views are amazing from the main living spaces. We enjoyed watching the sun come up over the hill each morning and got some reading in on the deck in the late afternoon. We also enjoyed the cozy family room with the wood burning fireplace after a long day of skiing. The kids loved the matching Lazy Boys - one for each of them!

Clearview has its own character, and is a great place to call your base of opperations when you’re bounding between the two great ski hills of Sugarbush and Mad River Glenn. I’d love to come back for another trip sometime. I stopped back at the house mid-day while skiing at Sugarbush. It’s pretty great to have an area so close, especially during a pandemic.

This is a cabin with lots of charm and fantastic location. It was super cozy and family friendly. We loved the fireplace! The owner is easy to work with and responsive. Two min from Sugarbush, 10 min to Mt Ellen and 15 min to Mad River Glen slopes. Sugarbush is a bit pricey with more crowd so the other two mountains are great options. Great snow!

We stayed between Christmas and New Years and went skiing at Sugarbush. Very close to the mountain and easy access to stores and restaurants. The views from the house are amazing. The drive up to the house is a bit tough. With some real ice or snow would be tough to navigate. Owner was great to deal with. I highly recommend and would love to return in fall or summer.
