The rooms were comfortable and quiet. Having the use of the kitchen was a real bonus for us.
Pub is lovely, food is excellent. Thank you 😊

Being able to prepare our own breakfast in the kitchen was convenient for us, and appropriate to the price-point.
It would have been super to have been able to eat in the pub downstairs - we arrived in the early evening with that as our expectation/hope, and - in a small village - were rather at short odds of finding somewhere else to eat!

Room was nice clean
There was no en suite. The areas to get the the room were very cluttered. There was supposed to be breakfast included but there was nobody there to tell us what to do

Didn't have one as I did not stay in the end.
I parked outside the front door was locked so I went around the back. Through the mud and past the rubbish. There was a patio at the back with french doors I entered and the lady said, abruptly, we don't open till 5.30 I told her I was staying there so she took me up to the room. Very steep and very dirty carpet. I saw the room and she left. The bedding was very old I lifted the quilt and saw there was a cover on the mattress I lifted the matress cover and the mattress was stained. I decided it wasn't the sort of hotel I and my partner wanted and told the lady I was leaving and she could keep the £50 cost. I usually stay at Shsnn House in Tadcaster which is only £45 per night and is spotlessly clean and the bedding fresh and clean. I am surprised and dissapointed that you have somewhere of such poor standard on youbooks plus someone with walking problems could not manage the stairs, they are dangerous.
Kind regards
Grahame Lawson

Good location, pleasant staff
Breakfast was advertised as being included, but we did not expect to have to cook it ourselves

You have to make your own breakfast. I didn’t.
I tried to book for Monday night but it was unavailable. I selected Tuesday. However, I received an email saying they shut on Tuesdays but they let me in. For some reason, every pub in the area closes on a Tuesday but I found a restaurant in Selby that was open.

Convenient for village centre.
The booking.com website description is TOTALLY misleading and wrong. The rooms are small and front onto a busy main road, therefore noisy. There is ONE bathroom containing a toilet which is shared by all the guests and resident staff - completely unacceptable. There was NO continental/full English breakfast- there was a small dirty self-help kitchen with very few resources. The few parking spaces outside the pub were fully occupied throughout out visit, and no convenient parking nearby.
Wi-Fi was never offered or mentioned.

The atmosphere was laid back and relaxed
Bikers rat run so noisy till late . The bar had a band which I enjoyed but went on till twelve so if you like an early night try elsewhere

- The area was beautiful.
- the room had a TV.
- friendly staff.
- mattress was very hard so difficult to sleep. Definitely needs changing.
- room did not feel clean and there was a lot of spiders. Needs a hoover.
- the whole place smelled strongly of dog including the room. There was strong air freshener also so not good for asthmatics.
- the shared bathroom was stained and had silver fish.
- the kitchen was shared and the fridge was full of meat so didn't make any breakfast.
- no one was around when I left in the morning.
- shared facilities/area with owners so felt more like you were staying over at someone's house.
- had to park a few streets away as all the spaces were full.

The food was good and very reasonable.
Good price for the night. However, I certainly wouldn't want to pay anymore.
It wasn't advertised that it was a shared bathroom and down the other end of the corridor from the rooms (not the best if need toilet in the night and wasn't aware upfront).
Breakfast. On being shown to room also shown where a kurchen is and informed have use of all things in kitchen but the Breakfast is make / cook for yourself with the ingredients left in the kitchen.
Not what is expected when advertised as breakfast included.

Firstly, this is a vibrant pub full of the best kind of people. Second : the staff are all naturals. After that: Food and drink are of a good standard and exceptional value. There is a personal touch about it all. The picturesque quaintness of Cawood is an experience I greatly appreciated too
Would be better again if the bathroom had been en-suite
I’m used to a lot of leisure travelling and don’t expect old buildings like this to have all the latest “mod cons”. What they lack there, they make up for in personality 10 times over!

Traditional local pub setting, in a very quiet and nice village. The staff at the property were great and we loved Lulu the dog!
I would just add a couple of water bottles in the room

Very little
Bathroom totally detached from the room long walk to the toilet at night.. Breakfast room nowhere to sit had to cook own food. Butter was empty. Zero parking had to walk long distance to accommodation. Just a very bad experience.

Lovely location, nice hosts

Kathy the landlady is lovely, she has created a great atmosphere in her pub downstairs and is absolutely a highlight of your stay- nothing is too much trouble for her! The staff are all lovely too who are serving the drinks and cheap homely food- we had the chilli con carne which was just YUM. There was a band on during the evening who were fab! Kathy has great taste in music! The kitchen was well stocked for breakfast the next morning and the bathroom was clean. This is a great value for money stay.

Kathy is a great host - we were warmly welcomed and made to feel very much at home. The pub is most quaint with lots going on. The use of a kitchen was really helpful.
An ensuite bathroom would be lovely but we knew it was a shared facility when we booked.
4.1
The breakfast was bread for toast but no butter cereal all in a separate help yourself kitchen no drink facilities in the room
They had no food menu on as it was a Monday
No en suit, bathroom was at end of corridor, and no an inadequate breakfast and drinks facilities

Great location
