We enjoyed our stay in the cabin. We found everything we needed to spend the week relaxing. When we decided to roast hot dogs by the fire pit, Papa joined us.
My son and I ran inside and watched him eat only the hot dogs that were cooked. It was a memory we will never forget.
The lake was beautiful and relaxing and the cabin is a short drive to the town of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Village and Asheville.
We would stay here again but we will keep all cooking indoors.

Riverbend stay
Riverbend is a lovely community, with a nice beach for children. The house was as pictured and comfortable for our group. A few improvements would turn a good place into great. Upstairs bed-one could feel the springs- downstairs bed was a bit too soft for bad backs, internet was not sufficient for work or streaming (if you want to watch a movie, or need to check in at work). Although we requested 2 gate passes, we were told we needed to get by with one. Unfortunately due to gate problems, we could only get through with the pass, and our group had to wait for / or meet each other to get through. We could have called the owner on the phone, but this seemed inconvenient on a regular basis. (Outdoor furniture would be nice for meals outside.

Lake Lure House stay
House was really nice. It was clean and fit our need for a stay while attending a wedding in the area. The air conditioner broke on Saturday and after 3 calls Liz got it taken care of on a Sunday!! Much appreciated!! The place needs some minor repairs but was a still a good value at the price! The biggest issues besides the A/C was access to the place. It was a 10 minute drive from the entrance during the day but at night it was very difficult to see the roads do to no lighting! Getting in to the secure gate was also a little bit of a pain as we had 3 cars and after 6 ( no attendee ) you have to punch in a code which was a not always easy. Great place if you were staying at the house and doing things on the lake. We were not so that is why it was more difficult. I would defintely like to come back and play with the toys on the lake!!

No check in info provided provided, no working WiFi
I emailed the day before to see about check in info since it’s supposed to come the week prior via email. I did not receive a reply. I arrived at a back gate up a mountain in the pouring rain with my 3 kids crying and we couldn’t get in. I called the property manager 6 times w/ no answer. She replies via text and then sends the check in info then at nearly 5pm. You have to go to a separate address which is a church near the front gate. This would have been great to know beforehand as we had been standing in the pouring rain trying to open a gate while waiting for liz to answer. The bed downstairs is not like the picture, it’s basically on the ground.. the upstairs bed is HARD. The WiFi is nearly none existent. No ones tablet would load and I had to sit in my truck to use my WiFi hotspot in order to work. The cabin is in a good location with a fun lake for swimming but it’s about an 8 minute ride on gravel roads to get to the main road. There is no trash pick up, you have to bring trash to the front which was not told to us prior. The drains are all incredibly slow so you’re standing in water while showering and the shower curtain has mildew. It was cute but could use some cleaning and updating for example the plates, silverware and comforters. Host provided beach towels and toys which was great. Not all the lights work and the bulbs are dim. Also only one key card is provided. This is an inconvenience when others are staying with you. The downstairs is incredibly HOT, the ac works great upstairs but downstairs was always hot. There were cigarette butts on the lawn and in the flower pots which I assume is from previous guests but still gross.

Great place for a family to stay.
The house looked small from the outside. Once we walked in we were amazed at the space inside. Everyone had room and no on was on top of each other. If you have children this is a big deal. The house had all the necessary thing for a week stay. The fire pit was a nice place to retire to every night for s’mores. The area around d the house had so much to offer without even leaving the community. The beach area was 5 mins down the rd and we had a great time there. Across the Ed from the beach was a little walk to war the kids could use tubes and go down the little river there. Hiking had a lot of choices to choose from that were close. We loved this place and had a great time. Thank you for sharing this place with us.

Tucked away cottage
This home was exactly as the owner described. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for our crew and the cottage was very clean and spacious! The fire pit out back was awesome and large. I believe we were too early in the season to find firewood for sale, however, we did find some FireL ogs at the Ingles grocery store to burn. Seating is limited (for about 6) , but we had thought ahead and brought our camp chairs. The only issue I had (not my whole family) was the location. It was not what I had pictured in my mind, although the location and grounds are beautiful. This cottage is a 5-8 minute drive from the gate on gravel roads--providing you don't get lost. It took me about 3-4 times traveling the road to become familiar with which roads to turn on, even though they were marked ( I used GPS several times and am obviously not the greatest navigator). There were two small kayaks for renters to use and two small lakes inside the subdivision/community within a 5-6 minute drive. If you like to cook, there were plenty of cooking pans and gadgets in the kitchen. If you have a favorite pan for sauteing or frying eggs, probably bring that. There was a small charcoal grill for renters use. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience!

Our First Cabin Trip
We chose this location for the spaciousness of the home, modern look and it was dog friendly. We we're excited about the gas fireplace, fire pit and were looking forward to being able to use the grill to prepare some of our meals during our stay. The bed in the bedroom on the main level of the home sits on a very low metal bed frame. It almost looks like it is on the floor. However, the mattress is comfortable. It is different from the picture. We considered moving to the bedroom upstairs but, I have mobility challenges and I wouldn't be able to make it up and down the stairs. Also, the mattress upstairs didn't seem as comfortable when I felt it. The dining room chairs were stained/ dirty and the stove was dirty. I spoke with Liz about this. She apologized and said she would let the housekeeper know. During our stay the power went out for several hours. We were happy to have the gas fireplace to keep us toasty and flashlights inside the home. When I called Liz to find out if this was isolated or the entire community. I was advised it was the entire community. Some of the dinnerware should be replaced as they are chiped. Some of the bakeware could be replaced as well. On the last afternoon of our stay the fireplace ran out of gas. I did advise Liz. The temperature dropped to 27 degrees outside that night and it was a bit chilly even with the central heat turned up. Also, when my fiance turned the gas grill on the last night of our stay the grill caught on fire. My fiance used the fire extinguisher in the kitchen to put the grill out and there was no damage. I sent pictures of the grill to Liz to show that there was no damage. The grill hasn't been maintained well. We enjoyed the quiet peaceful community. Our dog had a wonderful time exploring the yard. It was good to get away from the city. Liz provided good directions to the home and the check in information was listed on the email sent prior to arrival.

A Nice Getaway
It was a nice small group getaway for my boyfriend's birthday. The property was a little tough to get to (but that is expected in the mountains) and the owner/manager did not provide the key code prior to arrival but in the end, all went smoothly. I'm not sure if it was pandemic-related but we had to bring our own hand soap and trash bags as well as additional paper towels and toilet paper. We had such a great time and would rent again.

Fun for a quick family getaway
Beautiful property with ample room for 6 adults. The bedroom with twin beds was not comfy and the internet was slow but we had fun for a couple nights hiking and playing games. Also note soap for the bathrooms was not provided.

Great house great get away
The house was perfect for my mother's 80th Bday. Lots of room and a big dining room table to seat us all. There is an Ingells grocery store very close to the house and close to other attractions too. The only suggestion I would make is to include a map to help get to the house from the front gate. Had a great time in very nice property

Western North Carolina Vacation for Everyone
A great vacation location that has something for everyone. The lakes and water activities, the hiking and outdoor activities, the local restaurants and activities in Asheville. The property is like new, spacious, well appointed, with all the amenities for a family vacation. The owners take great care to think of everything. Looking forward to next year.

Wonderful escape
We really enjoyed our visit to Lake Lure. The property was perfect for our group of 6 (4 kids and 2 adults). The kids varied across entertainment ideas, and there was definitely something for each and every one of us. The kayaks were great and when there ended up being a missing oar, Emily was quick to get it replaced so we could get out. The firepit area was perfect for roasting marshmallows and we loved tubing from the top of the river to the swimming hole. Big Lick Lake (the larger lake in the private community) was perfect for us for each day as an easy place to relax on the beach. We did rent a pontoon boat one day to get out on Lake Lure and that was also a ton of fun. Overall we were really happy. There were some kitchen items that have sort of reached the end of their life and could use a few replacements, but overall we were able to make due. One other thing would be to just double check the flashlights available. We lost power one night and none of the flashlights had working batteries. The power came back on after a few minutes, so it wasn't a huge deal, but it's just a suggestion for safety measures.
We will definitely re-book this home. Thank you for hosting us!!!

Three Star Place
This trip was for a girls family member weekend with five adults and three small children. We live in different cities and met in the middle to spend time together. The pictures are an accurate representation of the house. The fire pit is a nice amenity. There is no wi-fi and cell service is very spotty. There is a "hot spot" to use but it is EXTREMELY slow because of the limited cell service. The kitchen is lacking some of the essentials - cutting knives, full set of silverware, drinking glasses, etc. Same with towels and sheets - lacking in quantity and quality. Also, it's in a gated community that needs a card to access. Only one card comes with the rental and with our situation it was a hassle at times. We would not stay here again but it's a fine place for the price.

Quiet bliss
If you want a relaxing, quiet stay, this is your place. We felt like we were the only two people on the mountain. Great fire pit, everything you need in the kitchen, beautiful bedroom on main floor, great water pressure, lots of light.
Internet is very spotty, so put your laptop down and go kayaking on the gorgeous lake there.

Great stay
Be sure to go to the swimming hole in the neighborhood!
A little tough to find on our gps.
I would have appreciated a little detergent.
Towels could use a bit of an upgrade, so bring your own.
Close proximity to Chimney Rock, which was adorable town.
Owner was friendly and attentive.

Very enjoyable
Had a very nice time at this comfortable home. Lots of privacy and quiet down time for our family. The kids and dogs lived the yard and exploring through the woods. A beautiful place for long walks every afternoon. The lake is lovely and the river walk was great for the kids to splash around in. The firepit was a hit with the kids. Highly reccomend .

Great stay!
Overall we loved our stay. Our only complaint is that the yard that was spoken of so much in the listing, was not mowed (grass was quite high) when we arrived. We arrived on Monday and notified the owners as soon as we arrived. It was not mowed until Friday (the last day of our stay). It was rainy throughout the week; however, we managed to do something each day outdoors without rain, so we feel it could have been mowed sooner. An attempt was made on Tuesday, but was told the lawn mower broke and they would return that evening or the next morning; however, wasn't done until Friday. Other than that, our stay was wonderful. Owners are quick to respond to any questions and have thought of just about everything you could need in the cabin. There are two kayaks, but no life jackets, so if you want to use those, make sure you bring some life jackets with you. Also, if using GPS, use the address to the front gate that they will give you instead of the actual cabin address to begin with. Ours brought us in a back way and then we had to find our way out to the front gate to check in. The cabin was perfect for our family of 5 and we had a great vacation. We loved the beach, lake, and waterfall right up the road. Also, if you are viewing from your phone, you may not see the $100 cleaning fee that must be left when you leave. We were told as soon as we booked it could be left in cash or check. Please note that the check must also be made out to cash. Overall we are glad we chose this location and took away some awesome family vacation memories.

Very nice home. Bright and spacious and very comfortable throughout. Large yard and lots of privacy. We enjoyed the firepit in the evening. Home is close enough to town for meals but definitely a home in the mountains. Very clean and well kept. We hope to return in the fall.
