Lovely cottage, beautiful location very rural. Close to matlock and bakewell around a 15 minute drive. Castleton and Buxton just under 40 minutes away. Hot Tub was clean and well kept. Hosts lovely. Goats on site very friendly enjoyed the food left to feed them with. Field for dog walking very handy. 2 rooms both with ensuites, very spacious well equipped cottage. If we were to visit Peak District again we would definitely stay again.

The main space is beautiful - a well equipped kitchen with condiments, tea/ coffee and pots and pans. A really comfortable sofa. There were lots of boardgames and plenty of leaflets and information about the Peaks to help plan your days out.
The hot tub - this was fantastic. Great temperature and a beautiful view of the sunset! We used it daily. The hosts provided plastic wine glasses to use in the tub area which was useful.
Other touches - there were sofa blankets, a hairdryer, iron and shower gel for the bathroom.
The hosts were responsive to issues.
A few small changes would change my rating from a 7.5 to a 9.
1. One of the bedrooms only had a small double bed (4ft rather than 4ft 6). It was quite uncomfortable and tight for my partner and I (and I'm only a size 8!). It could easily be changed.
2. The bathroom door for that room has a glass panel so you can see someone showering. Fine for couples but not so for friends. It also meant the light would come through on to your face in the mornings. Recommend you bring an eye mask. Again this can easily be fixed by the owners by covering up the panel.
3. The hot taps are as hot as kettle water. If the owners put a warning sign above the sink that would help.
4. There is no wifi in the property despite the advert stating there is. There is only a mobile dongle capped at 1GB. This would usually be ok but it often didn't work at all and only one device could connect at once. Clearer advertising (e.g. in the original booking message) would fix this preconception.
5. A bit of feng shui would make the space more practical. The sofa could be by the fireplace with a tv mounted. The dining table is too big. Better to have a storage cupboard to fit all the extras in (e.g. the ironing board and baby high chair was stuffed under the beds or in the wardrobes giving us less space to put our things and cluttering the already small rooms).
To be a 10 some bigger changes would be needed
1. One of the bedroom ensuites has a toilet which is too close to the door so you can't close the door while you sit on it! This means both bathrooms require you to be sharing with someone you feel very comfortable with! This was a design error and harder to change.
2. The bedrooms are quite small - since the lounge is so huge it would have been preferable to give a bit more space to the bedrooms.

Nothing
Everything. Grimy hot tub, murky water. No heating. Freezing bathrooms. Uncomfortable beds. Thin, cheap duvets. Flooding showers. Dirty sofa. Bathroom the size of a caravan - your knees touch the door while using the toilet. Electrics hanging out - health & safety risk. Property manager didn’t care.

Absolute heaven on earth. Beautiful house with views of nothing but the stunning countryside. Host Rebecca was super lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. Hot tub over looking the fields made for an extremely tranquil and relaxing break. Gorgeous kitchen made cooking a pleasure. Beautiful surrounding forest and countryside for walks and runs. Perfection!

The hot tub was lush. The place was lovely and clean. James, our host, was so super helpful. Our toddler loved feeding the goats every morning :-) I would highly recommend!

James was lovely and the Scenery was lovely apart from the road at the side what was quite busy so wasn’t very private, cottage was nice and clean inside
the hot tub had scum around the edge and water looked a-bit merky so I was only in for 5 mins and had to get out don’t think it was clean water…

Superb location, lovely views. Modern cottage with everything you need, very clean. The beds were comfortable. The hot tub was a great addition, as well as feeding the goats.
The bathrooms were a little cold compared to the rest of the cottage. The kitchen could do with an extra oven tray, and it would be nice to have a coffee table in the lounge area.
4.5
lovely setting and views and plenty of room in the shared space. fab hot tub with daily cleaning
whilst there was plenty of room in the shared space this was at the expense of smaller bedroom space and one bathroom was particularly cramped. hard to use toilet with door closed as no leg room. oven needs a good clean and was dusty around the outer edges as well.

Everything about this place is great the views, the hot tub and the whole cottage in general. Great location
There wasn't anything not to like!

We enjoyed a really relaxing few days here. Thank you

being on the farm surronding by animals was really nice, good sized hot tub and the cottage decor was modern and inviting
Capped WIFI so couldn't stream anything, we planned to watch a film in the evening which we could not do because of this. Also the hottub overlooked a road and was open to people around the cottage walking past so wasn't very private

The property was lovely, with fabulous views. Our daughter loved going out to see and feed the animals, and our dog loved all of the big fields to race around in.
