This charmingly renovated stable, is advertised as being on a 50 acre farm. Truth is, it sits on a baronial estate, complete with hilltop Manor, house, orchards, pond and large greenhouse filled with flowers for the well manicured grounds. Our most lasting memory was sipping wine while sitting in, the Adirondack chairs overlooking the pond and watching swallows swoop down for their evening meal of floating insects.

BE NICE TO REARRANGE THE ROOM TO ACCOMADATE A LARGER BED (QUEENSIZE) FRONT STEPS SHOULD HAVE A RAILING FOR US OLD FOLKS. SIDE STEP TO PORCH SHOULD HAVE A LANDING (1ST STEP TOO HIGH) HAD A GREAT TIME JUST ADDING RECOMMENDATIONS

Our stay was very relaxing and the grounds are beautiful! Very quiet and charming place to stay.

Beautiful property with pond, gardens, short hiking trails. The apartment has beautiful views. It was quite cozy and tastefully decorated. Loved the wall of books with every possible genre. The grounds caretaker was friendly and offered suggestions on hiking trails in Great Barrington. I would definitely recommend this property I look forward to staying there again!

A peaceful retreat that is close to all the Berkshires has to offer.

This was a perfect place for us to stay. The views were beautiful and the area perfectly quiet. The apartment is lovely and has comfortable furniture and lots of interesting books. It took awhile to figure out where all the closets were and what they had in them, but in the end everything was there! Kitchen is tiny but has everything you could want. We would definitely stay there again

Peaceful getaway and close drive to Berkshires spots. Not walkable to anything, but that was fine for us.

It would be nice to have a queen bed

This was a great place to stay near Great Barrington and Lenox. The grounds were beautiful and the lodging had everything you could want. We have three minor complaints. 1) The walls are quite thin and we could hear the neighbors, to the extent that we could follow the dialog on their TV. 2) The floors are a bit hard and the floor mat in the living room (in place of an area rug) is not terribly soft. 3) It's not so close to Great Barrington proper. That said, everything was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of closet space and even a desk for working / Zooming.

Very pretty country setting. Rustic with all the amenities. Easy access to the Tanglewood Concert venue, and visiting Great Barrington, Lenox, and surrounding Berkshires. VRBO seems to have some problems with their web app that made verifications of dates, and finalizing arrangements challenging.

Loved the apartment which was funky and quaint. Had all the right amenities. Enjoyed perusing the library. Grounds are gorgeous. Berkshires are beautiful. Mike and Allison were great hosts. Thank you to Mr. Gilliam also for letting us stay on his beautiful property. Only recommendation is for a larger bed. We will be back!

Quaint farmhouse setting with a pond, wooded trail with brook and neighboring cows close to hiking and everything outdoors in The Berkshires. Close to downtown Great Barrington for restaurants or a microbrew. It was the perfect anniversary getaway.

It was clean and comfortable. The property manager was most accommodating. The location and property was beautiful. This was our first Vrbo stay that did not have a little welcome note with house rules or directions for parking, laundry, where to leave linens when you leave, etc.. It was quaint with everything you would need. The fresh flowers from the garden was a nice touch.

Adorable cottage on a great property. We loved the decor, the cottage had everything you needed. The property was an easy drive to Great Barrington with great restaurants and shops. We will be back!

While there is plenty to do in the Berkshires for cultural entertainment and for outdoor pursuits and for dining, we found Stony brook flat in Great Barrington to be an oasis of beauty and a welcome respite for my husband and me as our home in Metrowest is being worked on. Even though it rained and was gray for virtually our whole stay we were regularly stunned and soothed by the landscape right outside the door. The rough cut knotty pine walls and the well appointed decor also lent themselves to relaxing. The kitchen had everything we needed. The owner was immediately accessible and his caretaker gets gold stars. The garden and woods are lovely to wander and sitting by the pond became our early morning and after dinner ritual. Geese, cows, great blue heron, and a woodchuck all be made appearances to our delight. We plan to return to celebrate our anniversary in 2022.

We truly enjoyed staying at stoneybrook farm. The cabin is beautifully appointed and in a beautiful setting. The property manager was very helpful and pleasant. The only downside was the lack of cleaning service. The cabin was spotless when we arrived, but we were there for a month and there was no cleaning service provided. All in all it was a most pleasant experience and we would be happy to return for another stay.

We loved walking around the property, While quiet and isolated, it was still easily accessible to surrounding venue's, attractions and restaurants. It was rather difficult to decide if we wanted to go out and experience everything around us or enjoy the natural beauty....and the cows next door!!

This apartment in a renovated barn-type building was a great size for a couple (and maybe a child or two). It was recently and beautifully renovated. The bedroom was a good size and was separated from the living room and kitchen area. The apartment was nicely appointed. We were pleasantly surprised to find a bag of coffee and bottles of water in the fridge. The house is in a farm area and very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed staying there and the price was fair.

My partner & I wanted to get out of Boston and enjoy the Berkshires. We planned on taking in a couple of hikes, visiting local breweries, downtown shops and local restaurants. We enjoyed our stay immensely! The apartment is beautiful & cozy--the pictures do not do it justice. I wouldn't have minded being snowed in! The property is absolutely beautiful and fun to snowshoe on. The value and location is incredible. We will be back & are currently making our friends jealous with our pictures.

Although this was a great location and had the potential to be the perfect get away spot (perfect size for a couple), there was a wasp invasion within the house that ruined the last night of our stay. The wasps only seemed to come out when the weather warmed up (around 70 degrees) and were crawling in and out of the ceiling with about 10 wasps flying around the unit. It prevented us from enjoying the unit for most of the day and we decided to wait until night fall hoping they'd dissipate. We mentioned it to the owner on the property when we saw him walking about, who seemed to be aware of the situation and downplayed it. Unfortunately, the wasps did not let up when the sun went down and my husband got stung. We ultimately decided to leave the premises on our own accord, not feeling safe enough to sleep in the unit. We tried contacting the property manager of the unit the next day for a refund for the final night. Unfortunately they were not responsive until a formal complaint with VRBO was filed. And even at that point, the property manager did not offer us a satisfactory resolution. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place as it is currently an unsafe situation to stay in in the warmer weather, especially if you are allergic to wasps or have young children. Given that the property manager and owner were aware of the situation, you would have hoped they would have managed it appropriately but that does not seem to be the case. Stay at your own risk.

Possibly the best VRBO that we have ever stayed at. The cabin is perfect for a couple looking for a small place to stay that has all the comforts of home. The caretaker has done a superb job of putting together a quaint little place. The small kitchen has a great gas stove, new dishwasher, refrigerator and a more than adequate stock of pots, pans and dishes. The cell service and internet are both very good. Plenty of hot water and a strong shower. In addition, there is a washer and drier available for use. The area is great for walking and enjoying the wildlife. Beartown State Forest is only about a mile away for those wanting a bit more excercise. The only minor downside is that the mattress needs replacing. All in all, a place to come back to more than once.

I usually prefer to spend less on my accommodations as I spend little time there other than sleeping. This place was very comfortable and relaxing and was in a beautiful location with just a short drive to downtown as well as hiking and biking trails.

Perfect spot for two people. Very well located. We could go hiking in the morning, visit museums in the afternoon and then go to the theater or Tanglewood at night.
