About this cabin rental
This Vintage Rustic cabin, primarily designed for the camping & fishing enthusiast, is just one cabin of a 7 cabin resort. This cabin was built in the early 1930's and holds every bit of that vintage character. It may be a little rough around the edges but this authentic cabin holds the wonderful allure of days gone by. Electrical outlets would have been added a few years later and air conditioning wasn’t even thought of at that time. Those details won't matter to the outdoorsy kind coming for the camping experience where lake activity fills your day and evenings are enjoyed around the campfire. This charming cabin has a knotty pine interior and all the basics to create an Up North camping style atmosphere. A lifestyle one will appreciate becoming acquainted with.
All the cabins are lined up next to each other along the shore of a beautifully serene lake. This close proximity to other cabins have traditionally created a friendly community style atmosphere where guests mingle and create lasting friendships. This is the kind of place where your grandparents brought your parents, your parent’s brought you, and you are now bringing your children to create beautiful memories while spending a nostalgic vacation in a familiar old cabin.
This 1 bedroom cabin sleeps 2 people in a queen size bed. There is 1 electrical outlet next to the bed. Other electrical outlets are minimally located throughout the cabin.
The cabin has a kitchen with everything to cover your basic needs, a dinning space and a simple bathroom that includes a warm shower. The spacious 10’x6’ enclosed porch overlooking the lake. Perfect for spending a quiet evening with a loved one.
Whether you are looking for a home base to camp at the lake or a base camp while you explore the area’s attractions, you will enjoy this cozy cabin and all its imperfections. More than anything, you’re gonna love the authentic charm and the carefree lifestyle that comes with camping Up North.
Pets are welcome on the property for an additional fee of $25 per night / per pet, paid at time of arrival if not otherwise paid. This includes pets of your visitors to the property.
Free Parking is available for 1 vehicle per cabin. 1 boat/trailer per cabin is also free but are required to be parked in designated area elsewhere on the property. Extra vehicles require a $25 per day fee and must also be parked in a designated area elsewhere on the property. This includes vehicles of your visitors to the property.

My husband and I wanted to see Mackinac Island. The Mitigwa cabin was the perfect place to stay. The ferry is about 15 minutes away.
When done with the day trip, the Mitigwa cabin was wonderful to come back to. Nestled right on Carp Lake, we had a campfire every night. The cabin was clean and brought back memories of my grandfather's cabin in northern Wisconsin. Richie was the perfect host. He was pleasant, responsive and there if we needed anything. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely stay there.

If you like rustic cabins on a fabulous lake, you’ve found the perfect place. Pet friendly. Could use some more silverware, but we brought our own plastic.

Everything you need for a comfortable getaway..All of your basic needs are met for a worry free trip. The host was very hospitable and kind. Every cabin is spaced out enough for privacy or close enough to join and meet new friends. I Will return in the future

The cabins were cute, cozy, and a perfect quick getaway. The view of the lake was beautiful, would be a great summer spot to enjoy the water. The bed was not super comfy, but for the price it was perfect. We brought our dog and he enjoyed the cabin too! We would return.

It was amazing for the price and the owner was very accommodating.

Cute and cozy place. I wish the bed had been more comfortable, but for the price, I cannot complain.

Great spot on the lake , with a very of a big oak tree that hung in the water blocking the view, the cabin was just an empty box , no homy feeling, bare dusty walls , charged 150 for my dogs being there , which I don't get. There's no damage my dogs could do to this place that isn't done already. Love the lake , but would not stay here again.front door didn't even close right.not much for cooking supplies either. Sorry but you need to do some work around here. Instead of just taking people's money.

We loved our stay. Beautiful view on the water. Cabin was cozy and charming.
Richie was there to greet us. He was a fantastic host.

The cabin was as advertised. Very cute old-style cabin. Windows were kept open due to the wonderful breeze blowing off from the lake. We would spend time on the porch when the sun came up and, in the afternoon, would sit out by the lake and watch the people going around on their boats. It was very quiet and relaxing. We would definitely stay again!!!

We love coming here every winter. It is quiet, cozy, tidy, and simply all we need. Ritchie is great - very welcoming. Clyde's across the road makes a great pizza too!

My husband became very sick on our way to our cabin. I had to take him home immediately and then I called the Doctor and we did a video appointment. My husband was at the Oncologist/Hematologist that morning and received his treatments. He had a reaction to one of the medication he received. I can show proof of his treatment.

The cabin was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the view of the lake and the stars. The sun rises from over the lake were absolutely breathtaking. Check in process was easy and communication with property owner Ritchie was good. We look forward to staying at 7Lakeside Cabins again real soon.

I rented this cabin online never having been to Mackinaw City. At the time I didn't realize it was a VRBO rental. With a 15 Hour drive we didn't get there until 9 PM but we called Ritchie the Owner and he was very understanding and said he would be there to welcome us which he was. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The only problem I had was the shower nozzle was HORRILBILE! The water just SPRAYED out in a mist!

Welcomed warm cabin on a chilling day. Experienced what that past visitors must have enjoyed, even back in the early days ...1920's .

Enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave
If you are looking for a no frills place to base a Macinac trip, this fits the bill. There is no AC and just the basics at a group of 7 1920's little cabins on a quiet lake 6 miles south of Mackinaw City. The owner is friendly and helpful and there is a nice cafe on the water a short walk away. My daughter and I didn't want to leave and hope to go back next year.

Great Stay!
This cabin is located very close to Mackinaw City which we loved! Cabin 5 had a great sunroom we enjoyed each morning. The cabin was perfect for all our needs especially being local to areas like Mackinaw City, St. Ignace, and an hour away from Sault St Marie. Great communication with the host who was there for any questions we had regarding travel or local restaurants. The cabin and yard space by the water was very clean and nicely set up. We definitely will stay again!

Fantastic Rustic Cabin
If you are planning fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, exploring in the Mackinaw City area, or even just looking for a quiet winter hideaway, this place is cozy, comfortable, and welcoming. The sunrises over Carp Lake are so beautiful. The accommodations are simple and clean, but the provisions are basic, so bring your own "extras" or conveniences. I've only been the winter, so it is pretty peaceful and quiet. I love this spot and can't wait to come again.

Definitely coming back to stay again!
Affordable, clean, comfortable, and enjoyable! These cabins are so clean and cozy, and they are in the perfect location. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. We had absolutely everything we needed (and if we didn't, all you had to do was ask) and can't wait to come back up and stay again. Thank you for the great hospitality!

Clean and nice.
I just went up for a getaway weekend and it was very relaxing with my dog. It’s nice it’s dog friendly. Everything was very clean. Definitely an older cabin so was a little drafty and I went on a very cold weekend(-14 with windchill) , but the fireplace in the bedroom kept it warm. It was nice being in winter there was also a smart tv in the bedroom. It was very pretty and quiet area Highly recommended.

Carp Lake cabins
Very nice place. Not fancy but exactly what you should expect for the old "cabin resort" type property. Amazing location for views. Great owner. About the best location for being close to everything yet feeling secluded. Great restaurant for breakfast and dinner just 3 minits away. Pretty perfect! We'll be back.

We had a great time. We used it for a central place while we drove to the major cities. We also had an amazing honeymoon.

Cozy, Affordable Cabin with Beautiful Views
My partner, dogs, and I loved our stay at Lakeside Cabins. The sunrise and sunset views of Carp Lake were stunning and the ferry to Mackinac Island was only 15 minutes away.

Relaxing little cabin
Smallish bedroom, but decent sized in the kitchen and nice screened-in porch. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was very small but doable. No mildew smell. We sat on the back patio and enjoyed the evening. We didn't get around to lighting a fire in the fire pit, but would have liked to. You could hear the waves lapping the shore, making for a nice atmosphere. The cabins one either side had people with firepits and they did talk into the night, but they weren't rowdy. I could imagine, depending on who was there, it could keep a person up. I could hear them fairly late, but it wasn't disruptive.

Location location location!
Overall a wonderful stay! So close to mackinaw city but far enough away to still be quite and relaxed without the hustle of the tourist town! The lake itself is beautiful! And you truly couldn’t be any closer to the water! Already planning our next trip here! Thank you!

Very peaceful, lake is beautiful.
A little disappointed that we couldn't fish off the dock- too shallow water. Everything else was great.
