Trotz 3 Tage Regen u. Buchung eines Kletterkurses, der demzufolge ausfiel, waren es ein prima Urlaub

Es war eine ausgezeichnete Idee, die Ferien in dieser Hütte zu verbringen. Das 4-Bett-Zimmer war ausreichend - die durchgängige Matratze war für alle bequem. Die Gemeinschaftstoiletten und die Gemeinschaftsduschen waren sehr sauber und gut nutzbar. Das Frühstück war phänomenal, ein Bufett, mit allem was das Herz begehrt und für 4 Euro konnte man ein Lunchpaket buchen, in dem neben Proviant ein Mlüsliriegel und ein Stück Obst war. Das Abendessen laut Karte war auch ganz wunderbar. Die Bedienung war zuvorkommend und flink. Möglicherweise hätte man zum Abend auch eine deftige kalte Platte bekommen, wir haben leider nicht gefragt, hatten aber darauf Appetit. Die Wirtsleute hatten großes Vertrauen zu uns, am letzten Tag hatten wir die Hütte ganz für uns allein - zum Frühstück kam ein Kollege und hat uns das Bufett wie gewohnt bereitgestellt. Wir waren voll, voll, voll zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder, wenn denn Platz für uns ist.

Wir haben eigentlich keine Kritikpunkte - nur ein klitzekleiner Hinweis: Wir hatten einen Raum oben. Dort ist im Schlafbereich ein Fester in Kopfnähe. Leider brannte das Hauslicht von der unteren Zimmerbelegung sehr, sehr lange und hat uns etwas beim Einschlafen gestört - weiß aber nicht, wie man das beseitigen kann - vielleicht könnte man den Dauerschalter kürzer einstellen?

Breakfast was great, location amazing (although quite the walk from end of Malerweg stage). I think the beds were actually comfortable.

Only one shower, rooms are very noisy (so need to be a bit lucky with your neighbours). Restaurant was closed (I guess always on Wednesdays), but the host did inform us the day before.

Amazing hospitality. Recommend highly.

We booked last minute and ended up arriving on foot in a huge rain storm to find no bedding and that no food would be served that night. I called the owners and they were amazing, coming out to give us bedding and to cook food specially for us. This is a great place to feel like you are in a real mountain hut while hiking in the Saxon Switzerland national park.

The communication about bedding and food only arrived at 10am on the day of our arrival. We were already hiking this point so didn’t find out there would be no food available until it was already too late. Be sure to check details before you leave.

Highly recommend to anyone seeking a combination of relaxing experience and adventure

The Ottendorfer Hütte proved to be a great choice for our group of friends. Hosts were were always ready to answer our questions and provide knowledgable recommendations, since our booking to moment of arrival. Our group of friends did not all know German and the staff was very friendly and helpful in communication in English. The location is beautiful, with stunning natural surroundings that provided a peaceful atmosphere, and the facilities itself are really uniquely designed and clean. Even if you don't come by car, you can move easy with bus to Saxon Switzerland park, and beautiful tracks if going by foot - the Ottendorfer Hütte even gives a bus pass for the duration of the stay which is practical. The breakfast served each morning was very filling. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a combination of relaxing experience and good tracks with a little bit of adventure. It is suitable for families with kids, as solo traveler and group of friends. Thank you Ottendorfer Hütte team!

hotel should not take bookings or let customers know and price accordingly if facilities advertised are closed

staff member who did breakfast was really nice

everything was shut apart from our bedroom. couldn't use any of the other facilities e.g living/eating area. just a basic room to sleep in . eery being there alone

Good location, big parking, breakfast was fine.

The personnel during the evening in the dining room was impolite, long waiting time for a service and unpleasant conversation. Just two showers for so many people and 50 cent for 5min of hot water.

Great location with the best staff. only check the bed arrangement before booking.

the hostel had the best staff especially the boss Frau Baer. very friendly and helpful. the vibe is suitable for a holiday for hiking in the area with the wooden cabins and nice greenery around. the breakfast included was nice and we were satisfied, especially the fresh bread. we don't eat pork so they apologised and asked us to tell them before hand to provide something more suitable and that was a nice gesture beside picking us up from the bus station which was super nice to do.

the only thing is the beds arrangement. being exactly next to each other. some modifications could be made to give more privacy to the bed and provide electrical sockets for them also. maybe something like a capsule bed

Nice stay in a beautiful area

Comfy beds, great breakfast, and it was just a couple minutes drive away from hiking and biking trails. Quiet and tranquil surroundings, would recommend to anyone who plans a trip to Sächsische Schweiz

great! :) hopefully i come again!

i loved the location, it is in a really nice place, for me maybe a little far from the malerweg which i was doing. I liked that the price included breakfast and the room was very comfortable :)

hm, i think it could be a little cheaper - one night before i came here, i stayed at a place, which offered me all the things i got here and the price was 17 eur for the place to sleep and 6 eur for breakfast.

I didn't see that i only booked a mattress, that was my mistake. Luckily I had a sleeping bag with me. After that I had to pay for the shower and extra tax. All no problem, but then the owner asked me if I wanted to give a tip and I find that strange. I don't think that's polite. I've given it, but they won't see me again.

very unsatisfactory, rude staff, extra expenses we werent aware of.

they charged extra for towels and bed linen and also a spa tax for some reason. they tried to squeeze extra money for everything, charged us 4 euro for a bottle of water.

Never again.

Breakfast was OK. Rolls a bit stale though. Room did have a heater.

Main road has been closed for years but somehow not marked on Google maps still, so we had to do a 20 minute detour. Bed was terrible. Just 4 old mattresses on the ground next to each other. Room was not cleaned, rubbish left in there. Some staff were very rude. WiFi didn't reach rooms. Extremely loud, as walls are thin and they cram lots of guests in. Terrible value for money. They charge extra for bedding. They charge extra for hot showers. You have to reserve to shower. Bathrooms are shared between all guests, around 30-40.
