About this apartment rental
Saalbach-Hinterglemm is one of the best winter sports resorts in the Austrian Alps and with the link into Fieberbrunn in the Tyrol it has become the largest ski area in Austria. Offering over 200 kms of pistes to suit everyone from beginners to downhill racers. The village is easily accessible from Salzburg and Munich airports. And just 10 minutes riverside walk from Saalbach's centre, and its main ski stations, lies Haus Koenig, a traditional Alpine chalet with a balcony overlooking the river. This, architect designed, apartment is on the top (second) floor of the chalet and exudes Alpine ambience. It has ski/board/bike storage in the basement and the owners will direct guests to where skis/boards can be stored close to the lifts allowing the morning walk (and the resort's famous apres-ski activities!) to be enjoyed in comfortable footwear. Alternatively, to hire skis/boards/mountain bikes, etc.If apres-ski relaxation is preferred at home, there is an ice-bar on the balcony overlooking the river. A fully equipped Alpine kitchen facilitates fine dining at the traditional corner dining area. The owners, both ski guides, understand their guests needs! It is also a great summer location with numerous activities for all the family. Cycling, river rafting, hiking, walking, activity high wire location, tennis, golf, swimming in the mountain lakes. All activities for the whole family.

Perfect location between the 2 main entry points on the slopes. Close to the bus stop too if need be.
Bathroom was large and decent hit running water.
Room sizes were good and has everything you need.
Only downside, which isn't really one as it's more about what we have got use to expecting, it's a family home so lots more items around compared to other vrbo / home rentals I have stayed in.
Would definitely stay again

The apartment is 'what you see is what you get'. I liked the sound of the river and the footpath behind the river that led to the supermarket. It was a well-sized apartment for a family of four. We rented our ski-equipment with sport 2000 with a free depot, which came in handy (good service as well!). We liked the apartment, though I must admit the twin beds need new matresses and I was a bit disgusted by the bedding, when we removed the sheets and pillowcases on the last day (blood stains, old pillows). We slept very well, though. IPerhaps that could use a bit renewal... Thanks for letting us use your Apartment! Best regards.

Unfortunately i can't add pictures to this review to support the points I'm stating here. look me up on socials, I'm happy to share them.
Don't book this apartment please book across the street where they were very helpful. This apartment was extremely dirty, and the owner refused and was not able to have it properly cleaned at all. He disconnected the line and has a typical way of communicating, to stay away from his responsibility as a host.
We found the Kitchen covered in grease, smelly and sticky. Oven and microwave with foodparts in it, Toilet had poo on the outside, and smelled, large amounts of dust across the apartment, bloodstains on the bedwear, previous guests clothing and a very old can of pringles under the bed, washing machine broken (given other reviews already since 2018). Worn out matrasses with springs poking your ribs and so on. The owner hardly replied to our request for a solution and said the dirt was caused by an open window. He redeemed 40 euro for the cleaning we did in our holiday ourselves. Eventually we had to leave early, the general cleanliness level was dangerous to our health and far away of what we are used to experience in Austria. All in all, it could have been easily solved by just sending in a cleaner.
I generally don't do reviews. In this case however I would like to warn you, and I will take the risk of another discussion with the owner.

Enjoyed our stay in this apartment, would rather have been closer to the town and lifts but still only a 5min walk,
Jan replied to all questions asked and was an easy check in.
Apartment was clean and tidy just a little bit cluttered but the hosts use the apartment as their own home too so is expected.
Only downfall was the way I was emailed about the cleaner moaning about cleaning, I don’t know what you expect with 5 young men sharing a 2 bedroom apartment, we cleaned quickly in the morning before we checked out. I know a few people with property and holiday lets and they have never heard of a cleaner moaning about cleaning.

We had a good value stay for our family of 5. Comfy and spacious living room and lovely balcony. 10 mins walk from ski lift which is fine as there is lockers for hire so no need to carry ski gear. Amazing village and amazing ski area, would recommend staying here

We had a lovely holiday in Saalbach. Apartment had everything we needed, location was good for us just a short walk to skiing & après-ski bars. A little too much snow Monday & Friday but 3 perfect days in between.
Many thanks
Steve

Nice apartment but run down an in need of maintanence, also overfull with owners stuff. Dishwasher seems not function for a long time. The washing machine in the kitchen was taped with a notice , “use the one in the cellar” . Bathroom faucet very loose, quite scary to use, shower pole loose as well.. closet shelves fallen down., cooking utensils an pans/pots old and worn. Communication not overly friendly and the owner accused us of entering the appartmemt hours before we had even arrived in Saalbach. Would have been nice if she had checked the facts with us first.
