You have found it! Mentone Moore's Mill is one of the few properties directly on The Little River and features some of the best water in the area. Just minutes from beautiful Desoto Falls, the private two tiered-dock allows for fishing, swimming and other water fun. You will see numerous canoes and kayaks and many anglers floating by. Combine this with the beautiful, comfortable 3 bedroom/2 bath cabin, you won't want to leave! Enjoy your day on the front porch overlooking the river!
You are going to be pleased with your space here. All bedrooms are set up for maximum comfort. You have a king sized bed in the master - and a special note there: the King bed is equipped with a Tempurpedic! The second bedroom is a queen with a very comfortable firm, yet soft mattress. And the third bedroom has two full size beds.
The open floor plan allows for welcoming family and friend time in the kitchen and living spaces. Plus, the view is breathtaking looking out over The Little River through the many glass doors and windows.
Now, if getting the working member of the family to FINALLY break free and go on that long needed vacation, never fear. There is an office/library space with a full sized desk, reliable WiFi, but the best part is the view while sitting at the desk! You can stay connected, but feel the stress ease away while finishing up that project. But please, don't stay there long. This is, after all, a vacation!!
Special note to the reader of the family: The library has been stocked with lots of book choices from various genres. Most of us bring our own books, but you may be finishing one, or you may see one you've always wanted to if you wanted to "take one/leave one", you are welcome to do so. Please bring a book to replace the one you take. And please be respectful on what you leave! This is definitely the place to enjoy a good book!!
Since we are directly on The Little River, you may want to explore the area by water, but don't have a boat or the ability to bring your own. Well, we have you covered there as well! We have a canoe and two kayaks including paddles and life vests. Just let us know in a message and we'll make them available to you.

Only a short drive from central Mentone, this home on the Little River is only a short paddle to the Desoto Falls picnic area and a view from the top of the falls.
Stephanie really helped us out on short notice when a other property went wrong and we needed a place to stay on very short notice. She was super-responsive when we needed that.
But that was just the beginning. The home
Is very clean, has all you need, and includes very clear guides for your stay and for using the canoe/kayaks.
If you need to sneak in a little work, there is a great office just off the living room with a monitor and view of the river.
We’d definitely stay here again!

Moore’s Mill does not disappoint! This was our second time staying in the cabin and we already have plans to book again. The views and atmosphere are unbeatable. We only live an hour away, but you feel like you are in a whole different world when you are out on the porch. Stephanie has thought of everything to make your stay feel like home. We loved kayaking down to the falls and swimming in the river right off the dock. We made homemade ice cream with the ice cream maker in the kitchen and made a roast one day in the crockpot. 10/10 and absolutely recommend.

We had such a great visit!! The property was immaculate and very well-stocked. Being right on the river with a canoe and 2 kayaks was fantastic for our group of 3 adults and my 2 grandsons ages 6 and 10. There was swimming, paddling, fishing, and rocking on the porch. Nighttime games and fun. Very well-stocked kitchen for our group that enjoys cooking. Mentone is a great little town - lots of art galleries - and we enjoyed the Blueberry Festival at Blueberry Falls Farm. Wildflower Cafe is a must. Great food and the music was fabulous.

We stayed in Mentone Moore's Mill for three nights over the Fourth of July while waiting to pick up our son from camp, and it was the most wonderful getaway. Everything was lovely. From the moment we walked in the house, we felt like a guest, not a renter. The owner had contacted us through vrbo with all the important details of the area and of the house, which is fully stocked with all the appliances you might need, plus a few nice extra touches like cooking spray, extra toilet paper, basic spices, for example, that are not typically included with a vrbo rental, causing you to pack an entire half of your car with all the "extras" you need for a few days of vacation. The home had such a warm, lived in, feeling that made us feel like we were "coming home" and not just staying for a few days. The views of the river were unparalleled. Our family enjoyed the board games, kayaking and canoeing, swimming in the river, fishing, and sitting on the deck overlooking the river in the rocking chairs playing cards. We were so relaxed.
While in town, we enjoyed the Henagar Potato Festival about 20 minutes away in Henagar, AL, for the Fourth of July festivities. We went over to Little River Canyon and saw the waterfall and played in the river above it. We had some good meals at Wildflower Cafe and The Hatter Cafe and had ice cream cones and sandwiches at the Mentone Market and villages in town. Everything about our quick trip was exactly what we needed and we will definitely be back!

The word “cabin” conjures up a certain rough edge… and this home is anything but rough! The features and facilities are beautifully upscale and made us feel very comfortable and at home in the space.
Stephanie has gone above and beyond typical rental hospitality, and has graciously and generously provided so many personal touches. I will recommend this opportunity to all my friends & family.
Being on the mountain gave us a wonderful reprieve from the summer heat, and the water overview from the peaceful porch was so very pleasant. We didn’t have time to take advantage of cannonballing off the dock and we look forward to coming again for a longer visit. I know it will be even more gorgeous in the Fall and Spring with the lovely tree canopies, and masses of rhododendrens.

My parents and I stayed here for a family reunion we were attending that was nearby at De Soto Lodge. And we absolutely loved this place. My Mom said 100 times how much she loved it and told everyone at the reunion about it because we had a whole house to ourselves with a beautiful view of the water. It has everything you could possibly need. It's very quiet and peaceful. It's close enough to stores if you do need anything. I wish we could've stayed longer. Would highly recommend to anyone!

This house had everything we could think of and even things were couldn’t think of. Comfy beds with plenty of space in each room. Lots of little extra welcoming touches.
We loved the big bird feeder and seeing a few species of birds. Some of the ladies really enjoyed the library as well.
Very close to the park - we enjoyed hiking and kayaking at Desoto.
Can’t think of anything to make this a better place to stay.. it has it all.

From booking to checkout, we couldn't rave more! The owner's communication is amazing and the property is beautiful. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you've found the spot. The home is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes etc. The beds were comfortable, although the rockers on the porch were the true highlight. We spent lots of time watching the many birds come and go. Our teen boys enjoyed fishing from the dock. The whole family enjoyed the kayaks and canoe. It’s not far to town where you'll find the Wildflower Cafe, the Mentone Market, and some small shops. Be sure to get the most of your groceries before heading up the mountain. We had a very peaceful, relaxing weekend!

Dont remember how many times we have now stayed at Moore's Mill...but the same group goes every spring and fall ! I have been going to Mentone for almost 40 years , plus other areas where I do Rentals, and have NEVER had any that are this FABULOUS......in every way! The house it self, how clan and wonderfully furnished it is......and then there is the owner who is the BEST communicator , and very detailed ( in good ways ) The only reason I hate to give it five stars, is that I dont want them to be so busy I cant schudle going when I want to! : ) :)

By far the best Vrbo we have rented, the house was spacious and more like a home than a rental. The children enjoyed the library. The host was easy to get a hold of and communication was excellent, she put a lot of extra touches that you don’t find in most rentals. We really enjoyed our stay and would not think twice about going back.

This home is the cleanest property we have ever stayed in. The hostess has thought of everything, and I mean everything, you will need during your stay at Moore’s Mill. The wooded property had a beautiful showing of Fall leaves during our visit. The location is close to Mentone and all the local restaurants and shops. The back porch is large… an excellent area for gathering, relaxing and enjoying the river. We plan to return…Spring will be a beautiful season to visit.

Mentone Moore's Mill is the best place to stay on the river! We took a boat ride up and down the river and while there are other beautiful homes, Moore's Mill is the most amazing. Beautiful deck with rocking chairs, full size windows/glass doors to gaze at the scenery while indoors, lower deck/landing with chairs at the river, kayaks riverside, everything you need. I timed our trip just right for exceptional fall foliage, thanks to Stephanie. The home itself is spacious and beautiful;super clean as if we were the first guests.The kitchen had everything one might need:coffees, teas, spices, condiments, Keurig, toaster, popcorn etc. Perfect location being so close to town of Mentone with it's cute shops and restaurants. We plan to come back in the spring for the flowers and waterfalls. Thanks for everything Stephanie.

We had such a relaxing five days. Our 6 year old grandson came with us and he and my husband fished a good part of the day each day. The house was even better than the description. I highly reccomend this rental. We are already planning our next visit.

Had fantastic communication with Stephanie, owner. She goes above & beyond and gave tons of info. We stayed the weekend for a wedding at Desoto. We were so busy we didn’t get to use the watercraft but it was available. House was fully stocked with all utensils and appliances. Large bedrooms and huge dining/living area. Has nice wrap around porch with rocking chairs that overlook the water. 5+ star rating and we hope to be back.

My niece and I stayed here for our annual trip. Stephanie was a wonderful hostess, with a fun note to greet us, beautiful home and easy, detailed instructions. She is wonderful to communicate with, and our trip could not have been easier to plan due to her wonderful help and efficient responses.
The home is enchanting, beautifully well-kept, and in a perfect location. It is easy to get to and from Mentone or the park. We enjoyed sitting out on the back porch, down by the river and enjoyed kayaking, floating in the river & hiking at nearby DeSoto Falls State Park. The peacefulness and serenity in the woods is just what we wanted.

We loved our stay here! It was the perfect location. We were looking for a place that we could just enjoy being with each other as a family but still have fun (and entertain our toddler year old). We only left the house to get food, otherwise we enjoyed the peacefulness of the river. Can’t wait to go to Mentone again!

Upon arrival we instantly realized we were in our own little paradise. Beautiful, quiet and peaceful! The only noise was an owl hooting in the distance. Being from the city made this place even more special since we were aiming for a quiet relaxing trip. Host was delightful! Many amenities. Easy check-in. Bird watchers dream! Only glitch, our Verizon phones wouldn’t work. But, they provided a Wi-Fi phone so we were able to call home and check on things. Hope I get to go back one day!

We had a wonderful experience at Moore's Mill. The cabin itself is spacious, nicely furnished and well appointed. The office/study area was a great feature for our stay since one member of the family had to do remote work. The cabin location and surroundings were outstanding, very private and the river is beautiful. I highly recommend for a great family getaway.

We had a lovely time at Moore’s Mill cabin. Perfect spot on the river. We loved the kayaks and canoe and did some fishing. The cabin is larger than it looks in the pictures. The kitchen is well stocked and Stephanie was easy to work with.

We had everything we needed and the house was clean and comfortable.
A beautiful time of year to visit, with the mountain laurel, rhododendron, and birds at the feeder.
