En Junaidy was more than accommodating as we wanted to learn more about the guesthouse and the community rural eco tourism initiative done by the village.
Food was amazing, we glad we chose the village meal cooked for us by the family instead of going out to the town to eat.
Sleeping with the waves and waking up to the sunrise by the sea was both mesmerizing and healing!

Our stay at Tajau Laut was nothing short of spectacular. Situated right by the beach, our rooms offered breathtaking views of the sea, creating a serene and calming atmosphere throughout our stay. What truly made our experience exceptional was the unparalleled hospitality of the owner.
Upon our request, the owner graciously accommodated us, allowing our entire family to stay together in one house, ensuring our time together was both comfortable and memorable. Moreover, their thoughtful gesture of providing freshly homemade local breakfast added a delightful touch to our mornings, allowing us to savor authentic flavors while admiring the picturesque seascape.
The proximity to the beach and the sea-facing rooms amplified the tranquility of our stay, offering a sense of relaxation and rejuvenation that's hard to find elsewhere.
Tajau Laut exceeded our expectations in every aspect, from its idyllic location to the warm hospitality extended by the owner. If you seek a tranquil retreat with breathtaking views and heartfelt hospitality, look no further than Tajau Laut!
The location, while offering a serene escape, can be a bit challenging to find initially, almost tucked away from the hustle and bustle of civilization. Once located, it unveils a cluster of houses nearby, offering a sense of community within this tranquil setting.
For those seeking a serene getaway, the secluded atmosphere and the proximity to other houses provide a unique charm, fostering a feeling of immersion in a local community. However, it's good to come prepared for the tranquility that sometimes includes the sounds of nature.

The family who run this place are really nice and friendly.
Facilities as stated are basic but its well priced, free filtered water, comfy bed, pillow and clean.
Nice seating area to watch the sunset and morning coffee with a sea view.
The 15rm dinner was nice as its whatever the family are having.
Cold showers - fine for a night or two especially with it being so hot.
Fan, which is better than nothing.
Wifi was good too.
Lovely quiet area too.
The blanket was small for two people (was only a single).
The free breakfast was a few pastries. The samosa were good but personally the others weren't for me.

We stayed here for 5 wonderful days, what an amazing location. The rooms overlook the sea - in fact, the sea comes under the lodge at night and you go to sleep listening to the gentle waves.
It is picture perfect. Each morning you can watch the sunrise from the balcony - it is quite simply stunning.
Breakfast was different and delicious every day, we had fried things and fried rice, fresh donuts and other bakery items, nasi lemak and often toast as well. The meals on offer for other times are always freshly cooked and most delicious. The family were very kind to share with us some food on occasion, it was always delicious, they were very kind and welcoming.
Udey - the host, can organise a taxi to and from wherever you need at a good price. We caught this taxi to the bus station, with Udeys' brother and father - a lovely and inspirational family. Udeys' brother learnt his English (which was really very good) from watching English movies - namely the BFG. They are part of a family of 10 siblings.
There is a couple of small shops in the village which sell toiletries, noodles, biscuits, drinks and bread.
The snorkelling is fabulous - you will need to ask Udey where to go - he and his family have been involved in the coral regeneration programs, right infront of the chalet is not good (although we did come across a couple of beautiful starfish) but over to the left and right - a short walk along the beach and the corals are beautiful and plenty of fish.
We really enjoyed our 5 days of peace and relaxation, we will definately come again and stay longer next time.
Accomodation is simple, rustic but lovely, comfortable bed, simple but adequate and clean bathroom with shower. There is a small kitchen area, with water dispenser, toaster, kettle, tea and coffee.
There is rubbish on the beaches although there is a long term clean up plan. To be fair, pretty much everywhere we have travelled including the Maldives has a similar problem these days
We liked everything

Very nice owner and what a peaceful quiet place. We loved our stay away from the crowd. The room was clean and comfy. Shower pressure was the best we had in Malaysia! You are away from everything so don't forget to buy food or order with the owner day by day for RM15 per meal.

The owner was very friendly and kind. Check-in and checkout process was easy and smooth. It was located in a village area and near the beach. We were given the rooms facing the beach and the view from the balcony was mesmerising. It was a great experience when we got to spend the night listening to the sound of the waves clearly. Suitable for those who want a relaxing vacation with peace at night and to be closer to nature. The beach was also clean. We would say that this is the best rural tourism we ever experienced. Very recommended for all nature lovers!
The water pressure in the toilet was a bit low but we still enjoyed the stay.

It is located in a small rustic.village in Northern tip area of borneo, about 20 km from the town of KUDAT..
There are no shopping facilities, only a cpl very small shops for snacks and water etc.
You need to make contact with the owner Udea to help arrange tspt or you hire a car.
The rooms are comfortable and are right on the waters edge. Udea is a Dive Master so will take you out snorkelling etc if asked
His mother makes all meals which are of local food.
There are no credit card facilities so you need to bring cash
It is typical village life, so chill out and enjoy it
Sometimes no water for shower, but no big deal.

I love that the balcony of my room looking straight to the ocean! It's a very tranquil place with no commercial tourism activities. A very pleasant place to relax. I could see the livelihood of locals and kids playing on the beach. The owner contacted me before my check in date to guide the way. It is recommended to take the longer route to avoid the off-road way that is not suitable for small cars.
Nothing that I dislike. But just beware of the dogs when strolling around the beach. They are very protective of their neighbourhood.

seaview, vibes, beach with a lot of seashells, kampung vibe, awesome host, cute fluffy orange cat that appeared just after check-out, chilled host that gave me the best room with seaview. in the morning, the sea tide even went below the chalet which was awesome. chilling at night at the pantry/next chalet while enjoying the sound of the sea and inhaling the sea air. just awesome!
on 2nd day the sea was a bit rough , so couldn't swim

Abang was very helpful. They went out of their way to help us when our bike got punctured and it was raining.
We moved from West Borneo to the East and this has to be the best stay in Borneo. A bit far from the city but that's what makes this place special.
You can go for a swim or snorkel just 50m away from the guest house.
If you are a guest travelling to Kudat, please maintain the cleanliness and the safety of aquatic life. The locals are working hard to preserve the same.

It's a great place to stay if you are looking for some relax. It's in a middle of nowhere with a great sea view. Room is basic, but we don't mind it at all. There is some basic breakfast, kitchen, free drinking water and they could make you a dinner as well!
Owner is a really nice guy also!
Can't complain on anything, you just need to know that isn't a 5 star hotel :)

Superb hospitality and secured stay. Immediate facing the sea, rest with tranquility of the wazes and surrounding. Fast Internet connection with their free WiFi. Light breakfast, coffee, drinking water are available. Equipped with shower (without heater) and sitting toilet. Double seater sofa is available in the room. Transport could be arranged to town with extra fare. Overall is great experience staying here. Recommended.

The place is runned by a really friendly family. If you want the mother can make lunch or diner for you as guest and they help you with everything. The place is perfect if you want to relaxe and enjoy the quietness of the tip of borneo. You sleep above the sea and if you like snorkeling you can do it directly in front of the accomodation.
