About this cottage rental
Just around the corner from one of our favourite Cotswold pubs on a quiet lane more used to traditional horse power than the multi-cyclinder variety, sits the aptly named Corner Cottage, a delightful cottage, sympathetically restored with style to provide the perfect weekend escape and ideally located as a base for a longer stay exploring all the Cotswolds has to offer.
Lower Oddington is an idyllic village just a few miles from Stow-on-the-Wold, an attractive market town and the highest point in the Cotswolds. This peaceful spot oozes charm and Corner Cottage benefits from two excellent pubs within easy strolling distance, one around the corner and the other in neighbouring Upper Oddington, easily reached on foot.
Character features from original flagstone flooring, stripped pine doors and an inglenook fireplace combine with comfy seating and tasteful decor to create Cotswold chic interiors making Corner Cottage an ideal holiday home. The dining kitchen is country style with everything you'll need to make a feast and leads on to a suntrap courtyard, perfect for idling over morning coffee.

Excellent location, very homely and always enjoy our stays at Corner Cottage.
Heating seems set too low ,didn't come on in the morning, apart from the bathrooms.

Corner Cottage is a very nice cottage in a lovely village but we did have a couple of problems that, as it turned out, were not exclusive to this cottage. We found it was invaded to a minor degree with wood lice, but this is a problem more to do with the weather and it is not the only cottage in the area with the problem. There was also a damp smell throughout, (which was commented on by previous guests in the reviews), that we got used to so that didn't spoil our experience too much. The feedback from the agency was very good and the housekeeper, Keith, came around and explained the background to the problem of the bugs. He offered to clean the cottage again but as we were leaving in two days anyway we declined the offer. As I say, we got used to the problems, and they didn't spoil our experience too much. The village is ideally situated to explore the Cotswolds and the cottage was nicely decorated and the double bed on the first floor was comfortable, but being only a double it was too small for two adults I felt and one of us slept in the single bed on the first floor. We abandoned the double bed on the top floor because it seemed to be favoured by the bugs, whereas the ground and first floor not so much.

Had a lovely stay at corner cottage. Everything was perfect and the location was ideal for us. The only problem was with the top floor bedroom which was extremely damp and quite uncomfortable to sleep in at night. Other than that an excellent stay

This was our 3rd time in this cottage and we love how charming it is and had a lovely stay. The interior design and the attention to detail is a credit to the owner. The welcome hamper pack was truly welcoming. However this time we feel the need to address a few issues we had we are sure that they are all solvable. Housekeeping this time was not good in certain areas, it hadn't been hovered in the lounge, food particles were in the rug and the floor was dirty, wife had to hoover soon after we arrived. The floor of the ensuite on the top floor was not cleaned and there were lots of cobwebs everywhere. Other issues were that the heating was locked. When the heating was needed it was an inconvenience to have to phone the number provided to get it turned on so we didn't bother. It was needed in the shower rooms and a couple of evenings when we returned from a meal out it had that chilly damp feel. I know this was in late August but late evening temperatures can drop. Another suggestion is to put some cushioned covering on the beam in the top floor bedroom, hit your head on that and you see stars for days. There is also a bad smell coming from the shower on the top floor. We hope these issues can be resolved.

Lovely cottage in Cotswold Village near to Stow and Moreton. Small outside terraced area. Had a main bathroom and an incomplete en-suite in the top floor bedroom which at time of occupation had a bit of a smell. Warned in advance. Dishwasher but no washing machine. Front door lock annoyingly difficult to open/ close and needs replacing. Hot water remotely controlled and had to alter timings with owner. Generally very clean. Lots of walks and places to eat nearby.

Beautiful and spacious cottage in an idyllic location
Beautiful and spacious cottage in a very affluent and quiet location just down the road from the pretty market town of Stow. Cottage has all the amenities you need, surprisingly spacious for a cottage but with all the features you would want to see, especially the cosy living room with comfy sofa and log burning stove - the provision of wood logs was also greatly appreciated and a nice cake left for us on arrival which we appreciated.
There is also a modern, clean and well stocked country kitchen with everything you need. All Bedrooms are a good size and beds lovely and comfy.
The house was nice and warm, perhaps a little too warm actually - scope to drop the temp slightly if possible, it must be costing a fortune!
The cleanliness of the cottage overall was good, but we found there to be lots of cobwebs in many of the rooms, on the ceilings and behind the cupboards in the bedrooms etc.
The front door lock is also faulty and it took repeated attempts to unlock whenever we used it - frustrating at best but potentially quite dangerous if a fire was to occur.
We also found the hot water availability to be difficult to manage between the four of us, it typically ran out towards the end of the day so we ended up with no hot water on a couple of occasions if we all had showers.
We also received two grey towels that appeared to have been bleached or stained quite badly, we wouldn’t expect to have been provided towels in that condition, they are better destined for the bin! The other white towels we received were much better.
Overall we really enjoyed the cottage, it really is beautiful and the location was perfect, hopefully the few minor points could be addressed to make any future stay even better.

Another great stay
When we arrived it was as good as I remembered it from last year.
The housekeeper who looks after the house is really helpful and very responsive, she helped with the hot water and lack of floor towel for the shower immediately.
The bathroom paint is lifting on the ceiling but aside from cobwebs on the ceilings, the cottage is perfect. Cosy, perfectly located and very tastefully decorated. It’s the second time we’ve stayed and I’m sure we’ll hope to stay again.

A lovely property in a great location
The property was very welcoming, clean and in a quiet village. Lots of beautiful places to visit a short drive away.
Had a problem with the smoke alarm but it was soon sorted by Cotswold Hideaways.
Enjoyed our stay and would return again in the future.

corner cottage
Only one bath towel per person for the week was not really sufficient due to no washing machine or drying facilities.

Lovely setting
Perfect little cottage in a quaint village setting. Cosy and comfortable, but perhaps the ability to manually adjust the heating a little would be helpful in cold weather. Other than that could not fault it.

A DIFFEREENT CORNER
A lovely "corner" of the Cotswolds and in a character cottage. A mx of modern and character decor which worked. Really enjoyed stay in a lovely village and area. Welcome items much appreciated. One criticism which is becoming a recent trend is remote control by owners of the heating. Wasn't much of a problem as the weather wasn't cold but when you are too cold having to text and gain the owners' attention is inconvenient at best and unsuccessful at worst e.g. 4 in the morning. .
Would definitely stay again. Also left somethjng behind and the owners were very helpful. Thank you.

Pretty cottage
Corner cottage is pretty and fairly well equipped.
Our biggest disappointment was that the owners control the heating remotely. We are owners ourselves of a holiday let and don’t believe it’s right to decide when and what temperature guests would like the heating. That’s up to them. The one and only shower was either luke warm or scalding but the owner simply said that ‘it should have been fixed’ and that was that. Finally, we were surprised to find the bed dressed in a non washable velvet throw and cushions which is not ideal, especially in the current climate.

Wonderful location beautiful cottage
On arriving, we had no issues getting into the property with the key code all ready conveyed to us. it was nice to see there was tea and coffee available in the lovely kitchen. We read through the book that was available telling us handy info of places to go and see, restaurants and places of interest. The temperature was a bit chilly and as soon as we contacted the lady who looks after the cottage, she put the heating on and set it for the rest of the week. It is a great location for everywhere around, We had somewhere new every day, some days we ate out, other days we cooked. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. looking forward to going again.
