About this house rental
This family seasonal home on the waterfront is secluded and serene. With direct waterfront and panoramic views, watch sloops sailing up and down the river, lobstermen pulling pots, even occasional seals leaping or sunning. Osprey routinely catch their dinner in the river. Some years, eagles nest at the top of an especially tall pine tree in view of the house.
Explore the clam flats at low tide. (Yes, there are steamer clams for the digging and clamming forks at the house if you've a mind to try.)
Walk, jog or ride your bike around the loop, a 3 or 4-mile circle of road around Stone's Point. Then relax on the screen porch with a book from a large collection throughout the house. Or choose one of the many board games or puzzles available. Of course there's a Smart TV, cable, internet and a DVD player, but who goes to Maine to watch TV?
After a home cooked lobster dinner, put your feet up in front of a cozy fire in the fireplace and remember what it's like to have no agenda at all. Or step outside and look up. With no light pollution, no place has more stars than a clear Maine night sky.
When you crave a little civilization, there are many attractions within an easy drive, many only 10 miles or so away.
Beds: 2 Queen Beds, 5 Twin Beds, 1 Crib

What a great house and location! My family and I enjoyed our stay immensely. Sitting by the water at night with the firepit, enjoying the large, private lot and then relaxing by the fire in the living room at night. Sleeping at night with the windows wide open enjoying the fresh Maine seacoast air. The house is charming and great for a large family get together.

Old Maine coastal home. Very nice

Everything about our stay was great--the house is charming (and spacious), it had everything that we need, and the property is beautiful. Not only does the house have amazing views of the water, it's surrounded by a meadow and the overall feel is very tranquil. We had a great time, and would definitely stay again.

When picturing a beautiful property on the water you can't get better than the location of this house. Plenty around the house for kids. Chairs on the water for adults. We had a great experience.

Our week in Cushing was about as perfect as it could have been. We took advantage of everything the house and location had to offer: kayaking, biking, lobster dinner, sightseeing, and especially enjoying the views from the screened porch. As previous guests noted, this is a comfortable, but not a fancy house, kind of like a visit to Grandma's. Thanks so much! I hope to come back.

Pictures don't do it justice!
It was better than expected and had everything we needed. Amazing views with a lot of area to explore. The kids had the best time of their lives playing on the rocks and starting fire. There's a fun path/trail down the road. Communication and check-in was easy and simple. We had best time and would absolutely stay again.

Comfortable waterfront home with beautiful views and large yard.
Our multigenerational family stayed for a week but wish we had booked 2 weeks. It has large comfortable rooms, a classic Maine rocky shore front, a well equipped kitchen, plenty of games and a huge yard. It's perfect. If you're into shopping and eating out, this might be a bit far away, but if you love the water, enjoy cooking, and just want to hang out with family and friends, this is the place. We loved it and look forward to coming back.

Sea breezes, amazing view and lupins!
A wonderful and extremely remote spot to get away from it all on a beautiful point in Cushing, Maine. The kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed kayaking from the beach. There are many trails nearby that are part of the St. George's River trust that we enjoyed exploring especially the Langlais sculpture reserve. Friendship is the closest town with a general store which is about 20 minutes away. We took day trips to Camden, Port Clyde, and on the way home stopped in Booth Bay Harbor for lunch which we loved!!!

Maine Get-Away From It All
The best part of this house is simply the location. Wow! I could not have chosen a better location for my first trip to Maine. The big window at the dining room table offers the best morning view of the sun rising over the river. The tides were enchanting. The seals, eagles, osprey, groundhog, and darters were captivating. The use of the kayaks and the fire ring at the beach were absolutely wonderful. Finally, the host was extremely helpful and communicative.
Tips for other travelers - this is an older Maine home. You aren't getting a fancy 5-star hotel. You're getting a home with history, plenty of space, a decked out kitchen, a working fireplace, a fantastic screened in porch, and a little wear and tear. That did not detract from my stay in the least.

Perfect!
This was a charming family cottage in a quintessential "Maine" setting: rocks, water, beautiful sunrise, lobster boats passing by. The house had everything we could need, answers to all questions were easily found, and we found we could strike out easily to all the places we wished to visit (Thomaston, Camden, Monhegan Island, even Acadia). Loved that there was a family story to the cottage (and my son, a barn construction fan, appreciated being allowed to look over the great old barn on the property). Rules & amenities were just right - made us feel more like friends staying at a friend's cottage. The screen porch is wonderful! Wish we'd been able to stay longer.

Great place to get away
We had such a great week at Evon's home. The house was large and had everything we needed. There was an amazing selection of books and games which we loved. The views were awesome. We loved watching the lobster boats every day and my kids could have explored down on the beach all day. The kayaks were a nice bonus! This is an amazing property. We hope to return again!

Roomy, Comfortable Home / Convenient Mid-Coast Location
Our family of 10 (6 adults 4 children) had plenty of room in this comfortable and well-equipped house. Many evening hours were spent on the screened porch playing board and card games. Location was convenient to many coastal towns and villages for day trips. Compliments to Evon for his quick responses throughout the rental process. Would love to return!
