Area Amenities:
The Tenants Harbor General Store, is open daily, specializing in morning coffee and pastries, corn, blueberries, native lobsters, fresh-cut meats, and all grocery supplies. It is only a 10-minute walk, or bring your bike for riding the winding roads and scenic ocean and island views. This is a pleasantly old and proud Maine community with its own library, school, and fire/rescue department. Knox County Sheriff's Office provides policing services. One-third of all Maine lobsters come from this county, named for General Henry Knox, George Washington's chief artillery officer in the Revolutionary War of 1776. You can learn about him on the peninsula, as well as enjoy programs offered all seasons at Montpelier, the Knox Mansion Museum, located just another few minutes in the nearby coastal town of Thomaston.
Heading another 10 minutes down the St. George peninsula is Port Clyde, another fishing village. You will enjoy beautiful ocean views while enjoying an incredible meal on the wharf and delicious ice cream for dessert from the local ice cream shop. In the heart of Port Clyde, you will find adventure waiting for you. Whether it's visiting a local art gallery, enjoying a day on the ocean with the Wyeth by Water Lobster Boat tours, or the Monhegan Island ferry adventures to see Maine seabirds, including puffins and American bald eagles, spending the day at the local Drift-Inn beach or a picnic at Marshall Point Lighthouse; St. George has something for everyone.
Here are some things you should know about visiting Maine:
Cell phones: Although coverage is getting better, there are some places where cell phones don't have good reception. Chances are you will have service, but just in case, make sure you leave the number of the house you are renting with those who may need to get in touch with you. Coverage with AT&T can be spotty in many areas of Maine.
Weather: If you have heard it once, you've heard it a hundred times: if you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute. It can be hot in Rockland and cool in Port Clyde so make sure to pack a variety of clothes — from a bathing suit for hot days to a sweater for cool evenings. Check out the current local weather at www.weather.com.
Bugs: A lot of people ask us if we have mosquitoes...we sure do. But they aren't huge and they don't ruin a vacation. Bring some repellent, or pick some up at the local general stores and you will be fine; usually, you won't even notice them.
Dogs: We love dogs around here, but each town has its own rules about pets. Make sure to look for signs stating if dogs are allowed and always have them on a leash. If they leave behind anything, please pick it up, it's not a fun surprise when you are exploring the beautiful shoreline. You can also be fined for not picking up after your four-legged friend.
Unwanted animals: You probably have them too, but raccoons and skunks can make you regret last night's lobster dinner. No one wants to pick up old, smelly shells that have been cast out onto the lawn by these cute, but curious and disastrously messy, little guys. So please don't put off placing the trash in the secure trashcans provided.
Water: Sailor’s Valentine Beach House is not on public water supply. It has a well, with a water filtration system, and is tested regularly once a year. Particulates, discoloration, and iron taste are not uncommon.
Sailor's Valentine Beach House is a Saturday to Saturday rental year-round! This home comfortably sleeps 6 people.

The view is so serene. I own a farm in Vermont and needed a break. This home provides it all. Watching the lobsterman come and go each day to the transient sailboats anchoring off the house each night I found peace.
There were some great restaurants close by the inn in Tenants harbor and the Causeway in Clarks Island. Also McLoons lobster shack was fabulous.

Sailor’s Valentine is a lovely home — it was very clean and well equipped. We had an issue with water when we arrived but maintenance and a plumber arrived very quickly and it was resolved within two hours. Maintenance and the plumber were both very kind and super helpful.
This is the second property managed by Veronica where our family has stayed and both homes were amazing and she is a wonderful host. Look forward to staying here again.

Our family just had another lovely stay at Sailor’s Valentine. As always, everything was perfect - it was clean and beautiful and completely ready for us. We range in age from 72 years to five months, and everyone was so happy to be back for our fourth visit. This home is excellent from top to bottom, but our favorite feature continues to be the large, well equipped gourmet kitchen.
The location is convenient to a lot of interesting things: Marshall Point Lighthouse, Monhegan Boat Line (puffin cruise), Drift Inn Beach, Owls Head Transportation Museum, and all the fun to be had in and around Thomaston, Rockland, and Camden. We had no issues at all with the property, but even when I asked a simple question, Veronika got back to me immediately. Can’t wait until next time!

We’ve been coming to various spots in Maine for many years and in recent years have found that the Tenant’s Harbor, Port Clyde, Saint George area feels like home to our little family. What a wonderful home Sailor’s Valentine is, in a wonderful area. The island views were phenomenal as was the entire house, over all. We were very disappointed to find upon arrival that the dock was unusable due to damage from a recent storm, presumably, but that didn’t impact us much at all. Visiting Maine in March, getting to enjoy a 50 degree day and also see snow falling on the shore with fire inside the wood stove glowing… you can’t beat it.
Veronika came to our rescue in an ice & snow storm and was a real life-saver.
This property was the most well-appointed vacation property I’ve ever stayed in. We certainly over packed, expecting the usual dull knives and questionable pillows… There was no need for extras here, because they have it all, and then some!
Can’t wait to return again!

It’s a beautiful home with spectacular views. It’s an amazing property with top of the line furnishings, appliances and cookware. Well decorated and comfortable bedding. A soaking tub and great showers. Don’t forget the hot tub that’s ready to go. Highly recommended! There’s a grand piano so bring your favorite music.

The views from the house were amazing all week witnessing beautiful sunrises and watching the harbor through a December storm. We quickly learned the names of all the islands visible from the house. The binoculars in the living room were a nice addition.
I had high expectations before arriving at the property and all were met.
Veronika was quick to respond to our questions even early on a Sunday morning.
The house itself was immaculate. The only thing I noticed were some of the utensils had not been well cleaned before being put away in the drawer. It wasn’t a major issue, we just made sure to clean them before using them for the first time during the week.
Additionally, we loved the hot tub, grilling out, the outdoor fire pit, indoor fireplace, puzzles, private dock, beach, birds, ducks, quiet neighborhood, and quaint general store.
I would be excited to return for another week some time. I highly recommend this house.

The house is beautiful and clean. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and bakeware. The kayaks are excellent, as is the hot tub, and it's a terrific place to bike (though no bikes included). Most of all, the view is spectacular in sun or fog. The property is a serene and private getaway, and it was exactly what we were looking for.
Additional pluses: There's a manual ice cream maker and a waffle maker. There are life vests and water shoes for kayaking. The property is very close to Port Clyde (easy biking distance) with boat to Monhegan Island and excellent pies and ice cream at Port Clyde Bakery. Also very close to Rockland (and McLoon's Lobster Shack in Spruce Head, which I highly recommend).
Small minuses: The master bedroom is huge and luxurious with a fantastic view, but the two other bedrooms are a little on the small side. And as many guests have noted, the checkout procedure of vacuuming and washing linens is a bit laborious for the price point. It wasn't a surprise, so it wasn't a problem. But it also wasn't welcome. One very minor last note, there's no nonstick skillet (thought there is nonstick bakeware), which would be useful for making eggs, etc. But that could easily be fixed (hint, hint).
Otherwise, a truly delightful place to stay on the coast of Maine.

This house is amazing. The only thing I would suggest is putting in an outdoor shower. Not a bad thing to have before a hot tub and after a dip in the ocean. I cant wait to return next year!

This was our third stay in Mid-Coast Maine, but our first in this beautiful home, which had everything we needed for our stay. We especially enjoyed the extremely well-appointed kitchen and the views from the dock and waterfront hot tub. It was an easy walk to the general store and restaurants in Tenants Harbor, and a quick drive to Port Clyde, Thomaston and Rockland.

1-week family vacation with three kids. The house is nice. Well equipped w/ large TV, jacuzzi, deck, and a deep water dock. The location is serene, and the views across Tenant's Harbor and the water are spectacular. We brought a boat and had easy access to the towns along Penobscot Bay, the islands, and other adventures. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our family fell in love with this property. We appreciated how well appointed the home was including the comfortable beds and linens, beautiful towels, gourmet kitchen tools and appliances, beach accessories ( towels. chair and cooler) and kayaks. The space was so open and airy with gorgeous views. Veronika was extremely easy to communicate with and was helpful in accommodating us at the last minute. Our family would not hesitate to book this property again!

We just completed our third vacation at Sailors Valentine, and we’re all hoping that we’ll just keep going there every year. Somehow the house was even better than before, which was a five-star experience already. We love the new kitchen enhancements - the sweetest butter-yellow KitchenAid stand mixer and a fantastic waffle iron, among others. The waffles were terrific and cleanup was a snap thanks to the pop-out nonstick grates. The listing depicts this house accurately but can’t fully convey the enjoyment you will experience, indoors and out. Get ready, Ms. Carlson; we’ll be back! Thanks to the whole team for presenting such an amazing property.

We had another wonderful vacation at Sailor's Valentine. The fact that this was our third visit says volumes. The house is perfect and the location is spectacular! Veronika is a pleasure to communicate with and is always very helpful. As always, we were all so sad to leave and can't wait to return!

What a beautiful home at the perfect location!! Being so close to the water was wonderful! We were able to use the kayaks they provided right from there and the water is so nice and calm because it's a cove. The sunrises were stunning!! Also, the house had everything we needed and more. I'm a passionate cook and this was the best equipped kitchen I've ever seen in a rental (and we have rented all over the world). The cleanliness was also very impressive! And the location is also perfect in terms of finding good food. Veronika gave me a great list of restaurants and we had only excellent food and baked goods! We also loved the location because there are so many excursions close by - cute towns, lighthouses, hiking, boat tours etc. We really want to rent this gorgeous house again! And Veronika is super helpful and responsive - I will recommend this house to all my friends

The home, location, gardens and hot tub were amazing! We appreciated the design of the home and how it took advantage of the amazing views. We felt welcome and comfortable - truly a home away from home. There were so many things to do in the area in Port Clyde and boat trips on the Mohegan Boat Line. We also enjoyed Rockland and Camden. Best of all was the time we spent as a family enjoying the home. Thank you for sharing this treasure!

From the moment we stepped foot into this lovely vacation home until the moment we left, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! High end amenities in the kitchen made it so easy to prepare meals. There were such incredible views from the many windows- I took a photo of the view from the master bedroom, and it looked like a painting! We enjoyed sitting at the table and playing games in the evening. We even put together a puzzle our daughter brought from home. Two kayaks were generously provided, and we had 2 tandem kayaks delivered from nearby Port Clyde ( that company was so great! ), so we got to enjoy the shoreline and nearby island as a family. We played in the COLD water ( not for long- lol ) from our rocky, private beach. The guys fished from the dock, and we all star gazed at night- the stars were amazing- we saw many shooting stars!
I messaged Veronika a few times and had a response within 15 minutes. I really appreciated that.
The ONLY negative I could find was the checkout procedures. I was stressed that we could get charged for anything undone- if a piece of furniture or item was out of place, we would be charged for each item. The instructions also stated to not only place dirty dishes in the dishwasher, but to dry them and put them away. I’ve never had those instructions anywhere else I’ve stayed. We were also asked to sweep and vacuum. It felt odd to be given so many cleaning instructions, knowing the cost of the service fees that were added to our very expensive stay.. They were definitely the most stringent instructions I’ve ever seen, and we’ve stayed in many homes.
That ONE negative aside, it truly was such a WONDERFUL vacation with my husband and kids. I miss that amazing view already!

This home was almost perfect. It was clean, light, well appointed in a great location and with beautiful views. I I’ll most certainly stay there again should I visit Tenants Harbor. My one disappointment was that while advertised as having a dock, the dock was not functional when I visited, but I was not notified in advance. We had planned to use the dock for boating, and it was one of the exceptional features of this beautiful but very expensive property. I would like to have known in advance.

A perfect getaway!
We enjoyed every moment of our stay at Sailor's Valentine. The house is beautiful and it was spotlessly clean upon our arrival. We had a few questions for Veronika and she was very helpful and responded quickly to our inquiries.
The neighborhood is quiet and there is very little traffic which makes for a pleasant walk to the general store. There were bright mornings watching the sun sparkle off the water while we ate breakfast, and there were foggy mornings which were equally enjoyable. The location is perfect for exploring the mid-coast area. We cooked almost all of our meals at the house (the kitchen has everything you could possibly need) but we highly recommend nearby Ancho Honey for sandwiches and Laurel's Dolce Vita in Thomaston for bakery treats! We very much hope to return to this special place.

Breathtaking
From the moment we pulled into the driveway, we were completely taken in. The home was just perfect, spotless, and filled with natural light… and the view from the magnificent windows (especially from the master bedroom upstairs) and deck are unsurpassed. We did not need to pack some of what we packed because the home was abundantly and thoughtfully stocked. The short stroll to the general store reminded us of the innate kindness of the people of this area. We enjoyed some of the tastiest lobster from the co op in Port Clyde. We have stayed in both Port Clyde and Tenants Harbor (both Linda Bean properties) and each experience has left us refreshed and revitalized. A visit to nearby Clark Island gave us additional amazing views during our very easy hike. We took many trips to nearby Owls Head, Camden (the view from the overlook on Mt Megunticook trail is absolutely worth the hike) and Belfast, as they were all short rides from the property. I am going to have to end this here as I could go on endlessly as to how truly breathtaking this property and our nearby adventures were. I hope to be able to return annually as this has become one of our favorite and most relaxing experiences to date. We can’t wait to return!

Sunrises and relaxation
Such an amazing place. The sunrise was breath taking and watching the stars at night while you relax in the hot tub was the best. The house was equipped with everything we needed and the area was perfect.

Beautiful view; comfortable, well stocked home
Property is well maintained and property manager quickly responded to our communications. We enjoyed the open concept and comfortable radiant heat. One of our party was able to move around the main level easily using a walker and oxygen tubing. The views from the main living area and master bedroom (upper level) are spectacular. The kitchen is very well stocked with quality cookware and accessories which made home cooking our meals fun and easy. We loved the comfy living room furniture with swivel chairs making it easy to change our view from the beautiful ocean with boats & birds to tv to fireplace.
The only negative, which really wasn’t a deal breaker, were the lengthy checkout instructions. They seemed excessive and the tone felt punitive: “ plan your time because anything left incomplete will result in a $50 charge per item”. It caused us to feel anxious trying to pack up and not miss any requirements before the checkout time.
All in all, we would definitely return. The driveway was plowed and salted quickly after a storm and we loved using the hot tub. Fun get-away!

Another Wonderful Stay!
This was our second visit to Sailor’s Valentine and it was as wonderful as the first. The house and views are amazing. The house has every high end amenity you can ask for (including a great outdoor hot tub overlooking the harbor) and Veronika is very helpful and responsive throughout the booking process. Sailor’s Valentine has become a very special place for our family and we are looking forward to our next visit!

Two Weeks in Tenants Harbor
I loved the house and location of he house. It was not well- stocked because we had to go out and buy coffee snd there was not a Teflon pan to cook with. The all clad pots snd pans were expensive but everything stuck to the pans. We had to go out and buy a frying pan. We were only allowed 2 rolls of toilet paper for each bathroom for two weeks.
All of that we could live with but the attitude of Veronica was very unfriendly, She told us not to call her just text snd they wouldn’t deal with a problem unless it was an emergency. There was a sewer smell after a few days there and they did send someone right away and the problem was fixed.
We left the house exactly as we found it. It was frightening to read that if we didn’t complete all of the items listed in vacating the house we would be charged $50 for each item not completed. We have stayed in houses all over the world and their rules were the strictest we have encountered.

Perfect Location
We had a wonderful stay at Sailor's Valentine. We have been renting homes for quite awhile now, and this house was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and made us all feel at home ... from ages 2 - 73! Appliances, beds, furnishings were top of the line. Veronika was very responsive and helpful. The location is perfect and the pictures do not do this property justice. The landscaping, dock, view, hot tub, and firepit alone make you want to return. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
