This property is wonderful if you want to relax and enjoy the surroundings of the berry farm. The owners Matthew, and Di can’t do enough for you, including cleaning the grill every time you use it and providing big bowls of apples and fresh fruit. I would recommend this to anybody who wants peace and quiet for the convenience of being in the Hawkes Bay area.

The Berry Farm Retreat
My Mother and I stayed at this lovely little spot. It lives up to it's name and is a tranquil spot to unwind and relax but still close enough to Hastings to stock up on supplies and visit tourist spots. The Hosts Di and Matthew were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. Their local knowledge meant we were able to sample all the local delights on our trip. Among our highlights were the melt in your mouth raspberries, the visits from all the birdlife and Snowy the Goat. We would definitely recommend and also return again in the Future.

Best accommodation ever!!
Di and Matthew were so welcoming and kind- making sure we had everything we needed and going above and beyond to make sure our stay was fantastic! The location was perfect to get to Hastings or Havelock North and the bach itself was gorgeous. We loved being in the quiet country with the ducks and goat. And the jam was absolutely delicious! Thank you for having us!!

Very good, friendly hosts, quiet property.

Not quite what I expected
I did not expect to be so in the thick of daily operations as I was at Berry Farm. The accommodation backs on to the berry shop and is attached to the owner's home. I found it noisy with all the comings and goings when I was trying for a retreat. I think the name is misleading. Di and Matthew are lovely hosts and made me very welcome.

This review does not concern Longlands, who have been very professional and friendly to us!We had to cancel our night at Longlands because of the cancellation of the Rod Stewart concert. Your organisation refused a refund which seemed to be the case for many other people all over the country. We will NEVER even attempt to book with such agencies as yours again and will spread the word far and wide. You are a disgrace!

We loved its peace and private rural surroundings. Woke to the sound of birdsong and frogs, very relaxing. Well set out away from overlooking houses with great facilities including a really good kitchen and dining table, everything we needed. Lovely shower and towels . A real bonus is the lawn, bbq, swing set and the availability of a boat, set on the pond with separate double bed fully kitted out and also another 'whare' with two separate beds also nearby, all leading out to the lovely garden.

Great choice
Very welcoming host who made us feel instantly at home and shared some great tips on what to see and do around Hastings/Havelock. The retreat had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and was in nice location with easy access to Hastings and Havelock.
