About this house rental
This is a unique, cozy and energy efficient home built in 2018 on 11 acres about 25 minutes from Montpelier and St. J. The views are amazing and the space relaxing. The tub is extra deep for soaking. Extra towels in the closet by the upstairs bathroom. There are blackout curtains in the bedrooms. The ground floor has radiant heat. The kitchen has granite countertops, a dishwasher, stainless steel appliances and is very well stocked for cooking. The water is from a with a special water filter, for some of the cleanest water you will ever have. Please note that since this is rural Vermont, the internet is not extremely fast.
The two lower bedrooms (on the second floor) each have 3 pocket doors which can be opened for more open space or closed and locked for privacy. The second floor also has a couch set in front of many windows for a relaxing space and view. There are two yoga mats available for use, along with an exercise ball, games, puzzles, beach chairs and coolers. There are two hair dryers, an iron and ironing board, two suitcase stands upstairs, a fan in the upstairs closet for the few warm days in VT, extra blankets in the basket next to the TV, and HDMI and Apple cords to attach your tech to the TV. There are also a few leaves for the dining table in the closet under the stairs for larger family dinners.
There is a deck out front and a BBQ under the outside stairs for use. There is also a deck upstairs with furniture to relax on.
Please conserve energy and don't turn up the heat too much, turn off electricity when you leave the home on excursions, and close windows so the rain doesn't get in and it stays warm in winter.
All areas of the home are available except for the smaller loft which is currently being used as storage.

Spacious and airy home in a quiet corner of VT. The bedroom partitioning is unique, but worked fine for our group of friends, and might be even better for a family. We appreciated the gorgeous view out of the many windows, and the sounds of the birds and wildlife.

We loved the house. It was the perfect location for us to day trip from. I would love to rent again if Jerry Jam 27 returns to Cabot.

We live in the area, so always have family/friends stay here!
Such cozy beds, very clean and calming spaces. Being about to use the upstairs as separate rooms or one large space is useful for quality family time.
House it outfitted with all you need for a short stay or a long stay.
Location has access to all the fun stuff in central Vermont, with views, sounds, smells of the countryside.

We enjoyed our stay while our daughter raced for the weekend at Craftsbury outdoor center. We were about 40 min from the facility and we all slept well. There wasn’t reliable Wi-Fi or cable at the property, which was our only complaint, but we played board games and did puzzles which was better anyway!

We had a lovely stay at this cozy house in Marshfield. It had everything we needed and the decor was fun! The beds were comfortable and the deep bathtub was a treat. We had long walks on the country roads early in the morning and enjoyed the sunrises over the mountains. We would definitely go back again!

Stacey was really helpful when I found out the day before our stay that I had COVID. We had to reschedule and she helped me through the process. I can’t wait for our rescheduled stay this winter!

Property worked well for us. King Bed was comfortable. It was just two of us and we were out touring the countryside everyday, so we didn't really spend much time at the property.

This modern home was a delightful surprise. It is just as advertised in terms of rooms, beds, and the huge kitchen. We arrived the first time in the dark, and it was a bit tricky. It is so dark in rural Vermont, that we could see the Milky Way clearly overhead. This is a plus for sure, but finding the house was required careful attention to the mailbox numbers and Stacey's instructions. We got in using the number code in the mudroom after a couple of tries.
The large king bed in great. The queen mattress is pretty worn down, but certainly useable. We didn't go up into the loft. The ladder would be fine for some younger people (or kids) but we didn't need the space.
There is a large variety of pots and pans and a gas stove/oven. The table has leaves in the storage area, if you have more than 4 or 5 for dinner. There is a large angled couch that is great for reading or snuggling. There is no microwave or toaster, but there is a small toaster oven that works well. Make sure to follow the guidelines of recycling. Bins are on the mudroom porch. Also, we carefully filled her request - no shoes in the house. Bring some slippers
The only negative is the Internet. The DSL is basically inoperative during waking hours. Our son came over and tested it, and confirmed that we were getting little or no signal. At times during the day, you can connect for short periods of time. We also had Verizon phones which do not function in this part of Vermont. If you are going to stay for any length of time, switch to AT&T. We were here for a month and it was tough to be out of touch that long. And no, Cabot does not have any internet cafes :-).
In short, this beautiful home is just as advertised. It is incredibly quiet and clean. I highly recommend it, especially if you'd like to "unplug" from your electronics. Don't forget to check out the stars. This is a dark sky area, for sure. We were here for the peak of fall color and driving the backroads was a real treat.

We needed a place not far from Danville for my daughter's wedding, where my other daughter's family and I could stay. This was exactly what we needed. The bedroom setup is a little odd if you weren't a close family, since all bedrooms have sliding doors to the great room, with one bathroom to share. But it worked great for our family. The home was modern and clean, too.

Sleeping accommodations unclear, but we managed. No microwave - had to adjust meal plans. Went out to buy new (clean) dish sponge (had to scrub coffee maker). Pretty warm for sleeping comfortable on 2nd floor 1st night - much more comfortable 2nd night as weather cooled. Two members had difficulty managing porch steps without a handrail. There were several used items left by previous guests in the refrigerator. Viewing the night sky was PHENOMENAL!!! Love night sounds as long as it remains outdoors . . . Crickets IN-house were sleep disruptors. Had much difficulty with lockbox upon leaving. Three of us were unsuccessful in how to leave the key inside. Left voicemail and text to host to explain. Was so distracted by the difficulties that, after driving 41 miles, I couldn't recall actually locking the door. We drove all the way back to ensure we had properly secured the house. Patio furniture and availability of a grill was a definite bonus. Nice place, probably more suitable for a fall/winter destination as no a/c. Might suggest a better mattress for single bed - or change to bigger bed altogether. Had difficulty with Wifi connection. Hostess friendly and responded promptly while planning our stay.

beautiful house in great location
This is a beautiful house in a great location. Comfortable for me, my son and his wife, an 8 year old and a toddler. Beautiful views. Quiet. In a rural location but close to villages of Marshfield and Cabot and easy driver to Montpelier or St J. Easy self check-in.

Beautiful country winter retreat
We loved the home and enjoyed the ride to and from Waterbury and St. Johnsbury. So quiet and peaceful to wake up to the snow, and the property had all the amenities you could ask for!

Vermont Winter Wonderland
We booked Stacey's lovely home for school vacation week and were not disappointed! The location is perfect for a secluded getaway, rural, but not overly so; 25 minute drive to Montpelier for groceries but the local store had many of the amenities that we needed (including tasty pizza, beer and wine). The house itself is warm and inviting, the upstairs is perfect for watching the sunrise and the kitchen is very well equipped with all the cooking supplies two city chefs could need! My boys enjoyed the spacious home and loft and absolutely no issues with Wifi or cell service. Even with 8 inches of snow on our last day, the plows were early and dare I say did a better job than snow plowing in Boston! Stacey was quick to respond to our questions, we would very much consider booking this property again on a return trip to Vermont.

Great cabin in the middle of nowhere Vermont
My wife and i stayed here for our 10th anniversary. The place was very nice and could have accommodated far more people. It was in the middle of nowhere which is exactly what we wanted.
My only complaints are that there was hardly any water pressure in the shower and the internet speeds were kind of slow. That's some nitpicking though because I'm sure that's consistent with most places in that part of the state.
Otherwise we had a fantastic time!

Feels like home
My friends and I really enjoyed our time at this property for a snowboarding trip. Was a private home, beautiful inside and out, and was very comfortable. Highly recommend, will be going back to stay there in years to come.

Definite thumbs up!
We loved the property and location. It was remote but not too far from ski resorts. The home was really nice and well stocked with all we needed. Very much enjoyed our stay and hope to come back some time!

Wonderful Rural get away stay
The property was beautiful. Set up on a hill so you had a gorgeous view of the mountains out the front windows. Its in a very rural farm area. House was clean and comfortable. Anything you needed during your stay was there for use. Mattress was not the best ive ever slept on but it worked for the two nights we stayed there. Netflix to use while there. The location didnt have a lot going on around it as far as places to eat/things to do, so we had to drive a ways to tour around the area but it was a relaxing spot to unwind. Would recommend.

Nice property!
This property was just as advertised, comfortable and well equipped. The only change we would ask for is an ungraded mattress in the king sized bed.

Nice place to rest your heads while exploring the area. Not much for the kiddos to do while there,
Everything was as advertised, clean, and functional. Could have used a couple of floor fans upstairs when we had to partially close doors for privacy and windows for downpours! But rain on that tin roof was fantastic and LOUD!

Wonderful Time
The house was lovely and had great amenities. The location is a great balance between being rural while being a short drive from plenty of things to do.

This house was perfect for local family gathering.
Clean and spacious rooms, relaxing views of the hills, cozy beds and inviting gathering spaces, and a stocked kitchen for family dinning.
Host communicated promptly and worked out accommodations for our long stay to go smoothly.
Off the beaten path for Vermont’s ‘high entertainment’ with lots to do locally and within short picturesque day trips.
Great find!

Great View!
We had a great time staying at this house. It was well maintained and had all the things you need to have a good stay. The view was really beautiful! The town is less touristy then many others in Vermont (which we prefer). But this may helpful in deciding if this is the right property for you!
