About this cabin rental
Our cozy 1830's cabin is on an old farm and just down the road from a breathtaking view over the Northeast Kingdom. In winter, cabin stays at 65 degrees. Very quiet, with virtually no traffic but the mailman once a day. The house is undeniably rustic, but charming and furnished with well-loved antiques. Open floor plan -bathroom only room with a door. Kids 7yrs+ welcome. Not near any downhill ski areas, and the rental is for the cabin and lawns, not whole property, and on unmaintained farm land, so are some old sheds and barn on land that are not accessible or safe for guests, though there is a front and side lawn that are kept mowed in the summer with seating, etc. November 1st through May 1st, guests will need snow tires or AWD / 4WD. Additionally, during "mud season," March 15 through April 25, you MUST have 4WD or AWD and a higher clearance car/truck. Some reviews of our property on Airbnb: "What a fantastic, cool, unique space to stay in. This older cabin has some really interesting antique décor and books, and I loved the unique lighting; it truly added to the rustic feel of the home. The owners really thought of everything when designing the space and stocking the space for guests, and we really appreciated the little extras. This is the perfect space for one couple and possibly one to two older children, and easy enough to find ... And what a beautiful view to wake up to! Cabot is a great little town with a small market and Harry's Hardware (hardware/bar/live music venue). We would be very happy to stay again here if we are in the area!" - Monica. And another from Lindsay: "Jennifer's house was perfect for a weekend getaway. Every nook was beautiful and perfectly decorated and the entire house felt cozy and comfortable. ... It was so relaxing to hike all day and come home and cook dinner together and cuddle up on the couch with a nice book and not even think of missed calls or meetings. The house is close to Groton State Forest, Kettle Pond State Park, and Peacham Pond ...Our stay was perfect and we loved the beautiful scenery - we can't wait to come back!" and finally one from Lucas: "The cabin was beautiful. The open floor plan worked well for us. Perfect for a couple or small family. Jennifer was an exceptional host and was very responsive when we had questions. We loved exploring the area and thought it was a great introduction to Vermont. Would definitely come back."

We enjoyed our stay LOVE the pine wood!

We LOVED this cabin! Quaint, quiet, and a bit quirky, it is a genuine antique cabin in a pretty spot on a dirt and gravel road, off the beaten path. We loved the vintage/antique touches, the beamed ceiling and the wide pine floorboards, worn down by age. It was more spacious than we expected, and was thoughtfully well supplied with everything we could possibly need. Jennifer, the host, was very responsive and all the information she supplied was accurate. We hope to be able to stay there again next summer!

We were in town for a family event and found the cabin to be a lovely and interesting spot for our stay. It was a rainy weekend, but it cleared enough for a couple of beautiful walks down the country road. The host provided some a bit of food in the fridge, including some famous Cabot cheese!! Hope to visit again in the fall!

I really enjoyed my stay. The cabin was very clean, and much more spacious than what I expected. This is the perfect cabin for a single person, a couple, or 2 people who know each other well as the sleeping areas do not close off from the rest of the cabin. I'll stay here again the next time I'm in the area.

The cabin itself was fantastic this was a charismas present for my fiancé. The property to the right had junk in yard old tires fallen down shed etc. etc.. To left of cabin was eye sore along with a lawn mower coved by very tall grass so was kind of embarrassed and disappointed from property keep up. If owners can just clean up yard some i feel it would be much better.

Very secluded property. Very much as described. Great communication from host. One helpul hint, bring a stand-alone GPS, or maps of the area. Unsure of other cell carriers, but Verizon had ZERO signal. Wifi calling setting was essential.

Stayed here to be close to family in the area. Nice and close but didn’t inconvenience family by staying with them.

Fine for a couple only, maybe a small child, but it is small! Check your weather report—we knew there was no air conditioning, but unfortunately the week we were there was 90 and humid.

We enjoyed ourselves very much, which was made possibly thanks partly to the great accommodations. Very comfortable. Well-equipped, though the bed was a bit too short for one of us (who is 6'2"). Appreciated the decor. Host was prompt and friendly to communicate with. Would recommend.

A charming cabin for our getaway
We had a wonderful and peaceful extended weekend at this lovely cabin, which was surprisingly roomy, very comfortable, and filled with antique furniture and books. The village of Cabot was just "down the hill" - about 2.5 miles away - and the local market, hardware store, and cafe were a useful and nearby resource. The cabin is on a dirt road, and provided plenty of opportunities for long walks with practically no traffic. We highly recommend this cabin, and will definitely consider it again for a longer stay.

Lovely place tucked away in the mountains!
A really lovely place (more spacious than the photos suggest), clean and comfortable, quiet and cozy. The interiors have a really nice personal touch, it feels more like a home than a rental. My partner and I are local and were looking for a peaceful getaway and this spot was exactly what we were looking for. Jennifer was responsive and communicative and we really appreciated the precautions she is taking for the pandemic. We recommend!

Exceeded all expectations
I honestly wasn't expecting much when I booked this property - me and two friends were just looking for somewhere to crash that was better than sleeping in a tent. The cabin is much nicer than I expected - it was very clean, with cool decor, and the road leading to it has amazing views.
The owners also included some nice touches like a fridge stocked with basics like cheese, butter, eggs, coffee, and even OJ! It had everything we needed and more. It was a perfect home base for exploring the Northeast Kingdom.
It's honestly a steal at the current rental rate.
PS - If you are looking this up on Google Earth or Street View, don't let that scare you away. The property looks much better in person and I'm assuming Google is using images that are several years old.

Fall Cabot experience
This property was perfect for hosting my cousin and her daughters during their annual trip to VT. My cousin loves Cabot as our family had property there and we essentially grew up in the area visiting our grandparents. They were so surprised when I told them we were staying in a cabin near all the things we enjoy doing: hiking Nichols Ledge, picking apples, visiting the creamery. The accommodations were perfect and Jennifer was a great host. We hope to stay longer next year! Thanks so much!

What a surprising gem!
This little treasure trove is located in the most gorgeous location, straight out of a rural Vermont calendar. Driving up it looks simple, rustic and plain but inside it is a like a little, eclectic adventure! It may not suit everyone’s tastes as it marries antique and vintage visuals with time warped appliances but for us it was exciting, funky, and fun. I found the listing to be accurate but it doesn’t really give the flavor of the stay, at least in my opinion, but all that was listed was there. The bed is very comfortable, all linens were provided, the shower and water pressure are great, and we weren’t there for most of the time but it was a nice place to come back to. What a relief to have a kitchen at our disposal with such affordable rates! There were only two of us so I can’t speak to negotiating the smallish space with more people but if you are flexible and interesting I think you will be thrilled with your stay here, the owners are also very accessible if you need to communicate anything.
