About this house rental
An immaculately renovated 1895 Victorian home that was featured in a before and after on Country Living magazine's website. This house has a warm, cozy vibe with original hardwood floors, updated kitchen and bathrooms, tasteful furnishings and a giant back porch for catching the evening breeze. Enjoy the blend of old and new, such as exposed ship lap walls in the dining room and authentic molding throughout against the modern conveniences of a Bosch dishwasher and a Whirlpool washer and dryer. It's perfect for any type of getaway you need — a girls' weekend, a couple's getaway, or anyone interested in what it's really like to live right in the heart of a small Texas town.
Aside from its charm, it is 1/4 mile from all that downtown Waxahachie has to offer. You can meander down to the College Street Pub for a cold beer, live music, and tasty English fare. Or head to Farmluck for lunch and something sweet from their old fashioned soda fountain. Or grab a glass of wine at Cork Haus. If you want a taste of Dallas, head just 20 minutes north on 35 to the Bishop Arts District to eat modern Southern fair at Hattie's.
This home is family friendly and features an upstairs playroom stocked with toys. A pack-n-play is available on request. The home is also within walking distance to Waxahachie's newest splash park, as well as a newly finished playground at the Presbyterian church, just a short walk down Oldham Street.

Traveled for a wedding. Even in the summer it is so centrally located we could walk anywhere we want in the quaint downtown area. Quiet street. Excellent charm. Recommend.

We booked our stay here about 2 years ago for a family trip from the UK to experience the total eclipse.
Katherine was very attentive and answered all queries promptly, advising on things to do etc in the area.
The house is lovely, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It had a great porch with a swing chair and rocking chair out front and decking out the back where you can sit and eat in the evening. The house is in easy walking distance of Waxahachie, which is a lovely little town.
I would say though, that the trains that run through the town, blaring their horns at night are extremely loud. Even wearing ear plugs and using a white noise machine, we could still hear them. The first night we were there we had been awake for nearly 24 hours travelling, and got such a fright when they woke us several times in the night, as it doesn't mention them on the property listing.
The wifi is also very slow and at times non existent and you really need some blackout curtains in the attic room. Having said all this, we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay.

Loved every nook of this house! Beautifully decorated and so much character. My girlfriend and I were running the Hachie 50 and our husbands were our support crew. The house is perfectly situated, just walking distance to restaurants and shops and had all the touches of home if you want to stay in and cook. Katherine was wonderful and super responsive. Book it now! You won’t regret it!

Another wonderful stay at this property. Can't wait for the next time. Just hope it is not booked because this is a very popular property for good reason.

Stayed here again this year. Great historic house in downtown Waxahachie TX. We come for the Truck Show in the park. Walking distance to downtown square and restaurants, shopping, antiquing. Quiet neighborhood. Plenty of birds, squirrels, cats etc. running around making it fun. We even took critter treats with us this time to watch the fun. Truck show, like everything else is just blocks away. If we attend the show again next year, we'll be staying here again.

I liked the home and decor. My only one problem with the home is that there are on window coverings throughout the home. living room, kitchen, laundry room.
I just prefer to use the ADT locking system and close the window shades.

My group of friends stayed here for the weekend in order to be close to Scarborough Fair. The house was so cute and walking distance from downtown which was great for going and getting dinner. The owner was kind enough to provide us with complimentary coffee, tea, and popcorn along with access to Netflix and Disney Plus! Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!

This is an old home with a historical marker! It was super clean and included several supplies and even extras if needed. The home was decorated with period paintings and other beautiful decor fun to look at.
I needed to call the landlord a few times and she was so accommodating, friendly, helpful and a very nice and easy person to deal with. I recommend this house with 5 stars on all counts!!

The home was charming and nicely restored. The beds were comfortable and accommodated our family who were in town for a wedding. The back yard was really nice with a wonderful back porch. Katherine was a great host and accommodating when our flights were delayed. We would highly recommend this home.

My husband and I had to be in Waxahachie for a family wedding and there were various members of the brides family staying at the house with us. It was a wonderful place, with plenty of privacy for each family member and numerous areas to gather and talk. The house has been updated with all the necessities to make our stay perfect. Katherine was available when we needed her and was able to let us in just as we finished our drive across country. Anytime we come back to Waxahachie, it will be our place to stay.

The house was immaculately clean with modernized kitchen and baths and comfortable beds. We enjoyed its many seating areas and interesting details, and appreciated the easy walk to the town square. My daughter loved her cozy attic room.
Note that you may hear the occasional train blaring its horn during the night unless you're a heavy sleeper. The white noise machines were just something different to hear and didn't fully mask the trains anyway, so we didn't use them. Note that if you sleep in the upstairs room with uncovered window and 2 large skylights, you may want to bring aluminum foil and painter's tape to block light and provide privacy. Most of the windows throughout the house have no window treatments, but we did not feel watched by neighbors.
I recommend this house as a great option for a family staying in Waxahachie.

This house was perfect for our girls weekend. The property was exactly as listed. The hostess reached out to me with details and was close by in case we needed anything.

This is our 5th time staying at this great house. We participate in missions connection week at Sagu each year and always stay at this house. Our team 5-6 people fits well here and even though we’re not at the house much, it’s a great place to come home to relax chat and have a snack.

We blew in for our Christmas Vacation with winter storm Elliott. It was so, so cold. Yet, walking in, we were greeted with a sweet home, a Christmas tree and lights. We were so thrilled. We had the perfect setting to have our Christmas celebration. We slept well and played well.

We really enjoyed our stay at this extremely cute house! The pictures on the website do not do it justice! My Husband and I were in town for a wedding and needed a place close by to stay, this place was amazing! Very clean, nicely updated, cute antique style furnishings and plenty of room for a whole family! The neighborhood was nice and quiet also. We really enjoyed it! If ever in the area again we will definitely be staying here, we loved it!

Victorian home beautifully renovated with modern amenities. Check in process was simple. Check out was a breeze as well. Good communication with the owner who was quick to respond to texts. Came to Waxahachie to see our daughter and grandkids and would absolutely stay here again. Close to downtown in a nice area. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had good selection of pots/pans/dinnerware. Internet a little finicky when it came to streaming on our devices, but overall a 10 out of 10 stay.

This is a beautifully kept, clean and inviting old home. The back porch and yard were great for sitting around in the cool evening and visiting with our group. It is super close to downtown activities and eateries. The host provided wxcellent communication and answered questions in a friendly and prompt manner. We will definitely stay here again should we have an opportunity to be back in the area.

We were in town for our HS reunion. I almost don’t want to write this review because I don’t want anyone to know the little gem I found. Everything was to perfection. Walking distance to most of our activities and to downtown Waxahachie. It was a great place to unwind in between our commitments. Our favorite was to sit on the front porch and visit with friends.

We stayed here in March and it worked so well for us we stayed here again on October. Great place to stay if you are traveling to these parts.

Family enjoyed the stay at this home. Back porch was a delight to relax. The experience reminds me of ‘The Walton’s’ home. Thank you for our lovely stay.

We were in town for the C10 in the Park weekend. This home was in a very quiet neighborhood yet walking distance to downtown. Loved the porch swing and watching the hummingbirds. This was a great place for our family to stay when we visited son in Midlothian.
We will definitely stay again.
Very clean and homey.
I want to be selfish and not share this gem so that it is always available for ME!😊

Stayed at this home for 4 nights during the week. Clean, convenient to everything and stocked well. We did a day trip to Waco which was easy from this location.
Host communicated ahead of our arrival. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had a great visit.

Absolutely perfect!
We stayed here during a baseball tournament, and it was exactly what our family needed. All of us (my husband, daughter in college, high school son, myself) enjoyed being able to come back to this wonderful house after each game. We all had our own spaces if we wanted quiet but had room to gather together too. We loved the house, the yard, the porches, and how everything is set up. Being able to do laundry after a hot baseball game? Fabulous. Being able to soak in the amazing bath tub at night? Priceless. My daughter and I investigated the toys upstairs...super cool! I'm already planning to come back with friends for a girls' trip (we will be reading all around the house as well as socializing on the porch) and also a family trip with young nieces. HUGE thank you to a host who knows exactly what we needed, worked with us, is just sweet as can be, and even wished our son luck! Would give 10 stars if I could. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Quaint, eclectic Victorian
We enjoyed our stay at this very interesting property. It was very well located for visiting our family in the Waxahachie/Ennis/Red Oak area. A couple of our younger grandkids visited and enjoyed playing in the upstairs toy room. Our teenaged granddaughter who stayed with us enjoyed the bedroom with skylights. The home has 2&1/2 baths, which was just perfect for the 3 of us.
If you’re looking for updated and modern in a rental, this house would still work, as the kitchen has been updated. The washer & dryer were also nice conveniences. The majority of the home, however, has kept the feel and decor of an 1898 home. We loved exploring & looking at all the interesting art, books & decor it contained.
We will definitely consider this home when we return to visit next time!

We came in for a wedding so didn’t have much time at the house or to run around town. The little time we did spend at the house was great! Kids loved the mini-piano and all learned Mary had a Little Lamb. My youngest loved the playroom upstairs. Lots of space for 4 kids and 4 adults. Plenty of toiletries, towels, linens and kitchen stuff. Loved this little home and would highly recommend.
