About this villa rental
Villa "Ariadne" is a fantastic choice for families and friends who want to spend quality time together, but also value independence.
Ideally located in the quiet hills of Ververonda, the villa sits on 2.5 hectares of mostly landscaped gardens, offering privacy and space, and benefits from a mesmerising view of Porto Heli and the island of Spetses. It comprises two separate houses, which are within the same property, a minute's walk from each other.
The top-hill house has a rustic atmosphere, thanks to its wooden, hand-crafted furniture. It has two bedrooms (one with two single beds and one with a double bed). There is also a kitchen, a bathroom and a living room/dining room with a fireplace, French windows and two sofa-beds that can accommodate additional guests. At the front of the house there is a terrace furnished with a table and chairs, ideal for laid-back mornings. A small barbecue grill can be found at the back.
The poolside house has a more modern feel. The main living area consists of an open white kitchen, a living room with a dining table and - uniquely - a master bedroom. You can wake up in the morning and enjoy a beautiful view of the sea from your bed! There is also a separate bedroom with three single beds. Additional amenities include a washing machine, high speed internet, cable television and a Hi-Fi radio/CD player with an mp3/computer input that connects to the speakers in the terrace, creating a magical atmosphere, particularly at night. In the patio there is a bar, a traditional-style barbecue grill and a private swimming pool, complimented by a long table with chairs, sun loungers, a sofa and two armchairs. Guests have exclusive access to these amenities during their stay.
By car, it takes five minutes to reach the centre of Porto Heli and three minutes to reach the nearest beach.
Small pets that have received basic training and are accustomed to living indoors are welcome.
About Porto Heli:
Porto Heli has become the best kept secret of Peloponnese - a quiet village with beautiful beaches, warm waters and fresh food at every corner. Conveniently located, it is only two and a half hours by car from the Athens International Airport - Eleftherios Venizelos. It is little wonder that some of the most prominent people in Greece have built summer villas in the area.
At the same time, Porto Heli has everything visitors need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, including supermarkets, pharmacies, bars, cafés and shops that sell souvenirs and beach equipment. There are also water sports schools and an open-air cinema that shows the year's blockbusters in their original language. Any facilities not available in Porto Heli can be found in the nearby town of Kranidi (a medical centre, boutiques etc.), which is only a twenty minutes' drive.
The wider region is also wonderful to explore. Delicious seafood can be enjoyed in the village of Koilada. Visitors can explore the seaside town of Ermioni and Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece, or take a boat to the picturesque islands of Spetses, Hydra and Poros. The ancient theatre of Epidaurus, where high-quality theatre productions of ancient Greek plays are staged every summer, is another must-see.

Beautiful Views
We stayed at Villa Ariadne for 10 days and had a lovely holiday. Ariadne answered all my questions in advance really quickly and was very helpful with preparing our trip and advising on places to go etc. Her parents met us there and were very friendly and answered quickly if we had any issues. The pool, the grounds and the view are amazing- even better than the pictures. Having two separate houses is a plus for a big group although we did find we all always ended up down at the pool! Inside the houses were clean and all appliances worked - would benefit by the addition of a dishwasher and a little bit of renovation (replacing the odd tile, maybe a new chopping board etc)
Overall a great place - heartily recommended! Thanks!

Superb views
Because of the higher location ,there are amazing 180 degree views. In the heat of the summer there is always a wonderful breeze. The Owners are very caring and attentive to any and all the needs of the property. We have had an extended stay (2 months ) and became very fond of oour home away from home. We will be back for sure.

A treasure
We were 10, and we were all impressed. The terrace , bbq (big) and swimming pool (deep) are stunning. We opened ourselves a cocktail bar next to the BBQ , which we called the black and white place. We hardly left the property. The restaurants by the end of harbour are classy and very moderately priced. We rented sailing boats and paddle boards. The beaches near Kosta are great. Madeline is delightful and every effort has been made to ensure a comfortable stay. Wifi excellent. Air conditioning , more than adequate. If your dates are available I recommend you grab this special place. Spetses is a gem , no cars are allowed there. Take water taxis to the best beaches . Very cheap.

House with a fantastic view in a wonderful region of Greece
We spent two fantastic weeks in Madeleine's houses. The pool and the terrace overlooking the bay of Porto Heli are fantastic. There are many wonderful beaches nearby, in Porto Heli itself and in the surrounding towns. It's best to ask locals for their preferred beaches!
We visited Mycenae, Epidavros and Nafplio. Each of them about an hour drive and absolutely worth it.

Spectacular views, great pool, comfortable living, lovely and helpful hosts. What’s not to like?!
Stayed 2 families, one in each of the houses, the hill house old and charming, the pool house modern and cool. The hosts are extremely helpful and forthcoming. You will need a car to get to and from the house, and also steady nerves as the roads leading to the house are very steep and -hmmm - well-used :-). Go explore the beaches in the area, and eat at the local taverna (maistraki). The AB supermarket in Porto Heli is very good, and right next to it is Heli Cars, the car hiring company we used and would recommend. Otherwise Porto Heli town is not much fun. A last must-do while in the area is a trip to the island of Hydra. Drive to Ermioni or a little further to Metoxi (I think it was called), and catch a boat. Only takes about 20 mins to cross.

great outside area, fantastic views, over to Spetses and a short drive to beaches & Porto Heli
Really enjoyed the holiday. The accommodation worked well for us, 4 in lower house and 4 in upper house. Nice large pool and versatile seating and outdoor area. Owner readily available on phone to handle any queries and greeted us when we arrived. Tricky drive up to property from main road but fine once we got used to that. Nice gardens and lighting. Very friendly and flexible. Thank you

Beautiful house of a lovely family
The two houses are situated in a lovely garden surrounded by trees and overlooking the sea. Breathtaking indeed. The pool and terrases are excellent and the two houses have a basic equipment. The family Kypriadou is more than friendly and welcoming. Overall.. worth a visit you won't regret!

Villa Ariadne - a lovely place to stay
Wondeful surroundings and a magnificent view. The perfect place to enjoy a peaceful holiday. We stayed for 8 days and really appreciated the beautiful seaview including the Island of Spteses in the horizon and a wonderful pool area. Especially, we would point out the complete privacy of the place without any insight from neighbours. We rented the house by the pool and were very happy with it's qualities. We can strongly recommend this place to everybody and will definitly return ourselves. Tove & Tommy, Bergen/Norway.

HOLIDAYS IN PORTO HELI 2012
The home is able to meet the needs of a large family and a large gang. The outdoor areas are ideal for playing by children and relaxation from their parents. The house has all the comforts of electrical appliances. Even for technology lovers on holiday there is cable TV and wireless internet. The location of the house is a short distance to the beaches and the local market. Your stay will be unforgettable.

good value for money
we had a great time at this particular villa because the pool house was very convenient for us as we had a baby with and we did not have to go very far to get a some poolside time. Also the kitchen in the pool house was great and the bathroom was large. the rest of the family stayed in the house on the hill which was great because they had privacy, bathroom and bedrooms smaller but airconditioned which was a plus. The pool was amazing, large and great view of porto heli. The family was extremely helpful. The island of spetses across from porto heli is a great place to visit when you are there .
