Our home is steps away from stunning West Cliff Drive (on the lower West Side of Santa Cruz) with its pristine tidal beaches, world famous surf spots and the abundant sea life of Monterey Bay.
Take a 40 minute stroll along West Cliff Drive to the famous Beach Boardwalk and fun fair or a 20 minute bike ride. There is an abundance of restaurants and a further 10 minute walk will take you into Downtown Santa Cruz with its shops, bars, restaurants and cinemas. Alternatively, take a 15 minute walk in the other direction to Natural Bridges Beach and Famous Butterfly Sanctuary.
Our home is a beautiful, tastefully decorated 2500 sq ft house. It is constantly being updated and renovated. It has a fabulous open plan modern kitchen, deck, garden with a Swim Spa/pool and a separate hot tub. NOTE: both the pool and hot tub are bonus items and your rental fee is for the home and contents of the home. Therefore, should either spa be out of order or waiting a service/repair before or during your stay, we will try our best to arrange a technician to service subject to availability.
The house has 3 bedrooms made up of 1 king bed, 1 Queen and 3rd bedroom with a Double/Full bed, twin Captains bed with storage drawers and a convertible single armchair bed.
There are 2 family rooms, dining room, office/sunroom, 2.5 bathrooms. The large family room has had a complete fireplace remodel with a stunning European gas double sided fireplace installed. There is a large wall hung Smart TV and modern comfortable sectional sofa and armchairs. The dining room has a large white washed oak dining table, chairs and bench which sits 10. There is a small furnished office which opens off the dining room and onto the surround deck. Ideal for reading peacefully or making a quiet phone call or an extra small bedroom with sofa chair bed if needed.
The open plan designer kitchen has a surround counter top with stools for 7. The kitchen opens onto dining room and rear family room which also has a large, comfortable L-shaped sofa, walk-hung tv and a pleasant additional sitting nook looking out onto rear garden area.
This living space also features another European wood burning stove along with glass slider patio doors and picture window creating a bright, airy open entertaining area which has two sets of doors opening onto deck and a fabulous peaceful rear garden/entertaining area with hot tub, BBQ grill, hammock, outdoor furniture and a 15ft x 9ft SWIM SPA!
There is also a little outdoor gym area in the covered alcove along the side garden at back of garage.

We keep it at 90' in summer to cool off and the hot tub is kept at 103 ish.

The house is exactly as stated in the description. Victoria is easy to work with. We appreciated the space. There were five of us, my husband, and three teenagers. We prefer to cook rather than go out and felt we had most of what we needed.

We had a wonderful getaway with our kiddos here. My husband and I both had to work for half the trip, but didn't mind at all in this beautiful setting. We got to swim every day, lounge in the hot tub, walk to watch the waves, and easily get to the Boardwalk, Capitola, etc. He and I loved enjoying a glass of wine in the backyard, admiring the gorgeous plants and butterflies, while the kiddos played with the bunnies or claimed their own spots throughout the house (great for preventing arguments!).
Wonderful communications with the owner, super easy check in and checkout process. Plus the neighbors are super nice. Can't wait to come back!

Excellent house. Perfect for family with 2-3 kids. Small, heated pool + hot tub in the backyard was used nearly every day of our 2-week stay. A 10-min bike ride to the boardwalk. Block and a half from the ocean where there is a long walking trail. Very comfortable furnishings. While we didn't need anything while there, the communications were flawless. The only thing that could be improved would be better kitchenware. Pans, spatulas, tongs - those kinds of things. If you don't plan to cook much (and there are excellent restaurants nearby), then its no big deal. If you are master chef, you may want to bring some items from home.

My family and I enjoyed staying at this property. Our girls loved the bunnies and spending time at the outdoor pool and jacuzzi. The location was great, close to everything, including the boardwalk, groceries and the Marine Discovery Center. The house is within a few min walk to the shoreline and we walked to the Natural Bridges beach and had a great time there. Vik was super responsive and accommodating. The house was spacious and had everything we needed.

Loved the rabbits snd especially the therapeutic swim pool. The kids loved being outside snd so did we. Perfect distance from the ocean. Loads of sitting areas to enjoy with the one with the big screen most popular. I would definitely recommend it.

We stayed for a week with 4 adults, a 4-year-old, and a dog. The house was super clean, and beautifully appointed on the inside. We spent a lot of time in the back yard, which is a very nice deck with various seating spots, and a small pool (was perfect for our 4-year-old to play in). The home is a walk away from a couple beaches, and a short drive away from the Santa Cruz boardwalk and wharf (and a bunch more beaches).
The owner was responsive and flexible with questions that we had.
Everybody had a good time. Would stay again!

A wonderful Christmas stay!
We absolutely loved spending Christmas week at this lovely home. Victoria was very accommodating and even decorated the home for us! She also created a lovely little area for my mother to stay, who's 85 years old and could not walk up the steps. Yes...this was a wonderful Christmas for our entire family… thank you!

Wonderful house with fantastic location- would absolutely return
My family- my husband, my mom, 7 year old, and 1 year old- stayed at the house for the week of Thanksgiving and had an excellent stay. We have rented a number of houses in this particular neighborhood because we love the proximity to West Cliff Drive, Natural Bridges and Wilder Ranch, the beaches, and West Cliff neighborhood dining. The outdoor spaces at the house are really wonderful and my older son loved the swim spa and hot tub. While there is no access to the garage, there was plenty of side yard space for us to safely store our bikes and beach equipment. We would love to return to this property, but with a couple things in mind:
1) the kitchen knives were incredibly dull. We’ll pack a knife or two next time.
2) we’ll bring any spices we think we might use. While the kitchen is stocked with the family’s items, we found ourselves missing some basics like sugar, cinnamon, rosemary, etc.
2) the linens have a strong detergent smell. I ended up buying scent-free detergent to launder the linens because the smell was bothering us. For many people, this will be no big deal. My sister-in-law uses the same detergent and the same smell exists at her house. But for me, it was giving me a headache. If you’re sensitive to smells, I would consider bringing your own linens and pillows.
3) not a big deal for us because we brought all of our own stuff, but don’t count on random beach equipment to use. A lot of rental properties in the area have beach chairs, toys, even bikes, to use.
Overall a beautiful home in a great neighborhood and I highly recommend staying here.

This house was beautifully updated, warm and welcoming. Ideal location. Easy to spend time indoors and out. Walking distance to the Westside restaurants (Venus, Bantum). Great communication, lovely stay!

Amazing property in amazing location
My wife and I stayed here with my Brothers and sisters. The layout is a great way to spend time together or spread out if you want to. There’s even an office my wife was able to use for work. The master suite isvery luxurious. The only downside, and it is very minor, is that there are no closets. There are a couple of small hanging racks so plan accordingly. The host was wonderful and graciously resolved an oversight by VRBO concerning billing.Would stay here again anytime!

Comfortable spot close to the coast
This is a very comfortable home close to the coast / beach. The house is nicely decorated with nice touches throughout. The backyard is great for relaxing and sunning. Although the house is updated and clean, the surrounding neighborhood is a mixed bag - the house across the street is dilapidated and there was an abandoned damaged car parked right across the street. It's not a big deal - it's kind of how Santa Cruz is - but just a heads up given the price point....

Our family of six wanted to visit the beach for a few days and celebrate the new year. We found this listing and thought it would work...it was FANTASTIC!!
The home is cozy and comfortable. There are two main living areas and an outdoor space that is truly a haven of peace and calm. The kitchen is large and fully equipped. There is a large dining table with a glass fireplace right nearby that was the center of our meals. There is a small office space that gets the morning sun and the bedrooms upstairs are large and comfortable. The ocean is just a block away and there is a beautiful walking place that stretches for miles. You can walk to a lovely grocery store (about 9 blocks), delish coffee store and brewery (I think). It is a wonderful place to relax and we cherished our time there. There is not one thing I would change...so grateful for the hospitality, the charm and the comfort of this great place. PS If you go at Christmas time, expect lovely, cheery decroations! :)

Thanksgiving in Santa Cruz
We had a wonderful time in this beautifully decorated home. The spa / swim pool was a huge feature. The location was perfect. The space was very clean. Our teens loved their rooms and lounging in the living room. Victoria was wonderfully responsive and thoughtfully left us some treats. We would love to stay again in the future.

Perfect For Our Family Vacation!
Not only is this house beautiful, it is in an ideal location that suited our needs perfectly. We were able to walk or take a short drive to the Boardwalk, Downtown, and many State Beaches. The neighborhood is quiet and offered a nice relaxing environment to come home to. If you are looking for a convenient home base to have for your visit to Santa Cruz, this is it. A beautiful home away from home!
We truly loved our week here at this beautiful home equipped with everything you might need! My 20 yo son (who lives here) asked if he could stay with us not only because he wanted to spend time with us but because it reminded him of our home in NJ. The location we found to be ideal between walking to places to eat or walking along Westcliff.

Fantastic stay!
My family loves Santa Cruz - there is something there for all of us (including the dog) and this home was perfect for us. The house is beautifully furnished and comfortable with a great hot tub perfect for warming up after surfing. The location was ideal - just a short walk to the ocean or to Kelly’s for a great morning cup of coffee. Victoria made us feel welcomed and was super responsive when we had questions. We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Great house.
Everything was as expected. Great house in a quiet area of town. Walking distance to grocery and restaurants. Really enjoyed the kitchen with lots of seating around it for enjoying time together while cooking. The back yard was beautiful and a nice place to relax after hiking. Hot tub was in need of cleaning when we arrived but that would be the only complaint. Would stay here again.

Great Stay in a lovely home that was nicer than even the listing suggested
Excellent rental experience. Victoria (owner) was extremely responsive and surprised us with a lovely welcome basket when we arrived. Home was clean and well stocked with towels, appliances and cooking supplies beyond what we would have expected. Firewood was stocked by the fireplace ready for a cozy evening. Wifi worked well and multiple TVs meant that everyone had access to abundant entertainment. Both the Jacuzzi and the Swimming Spa were great. The neighborhood was quiet and a short walk away from the beach. Grocery shopping and restaurants were a very short drive away (Costco was only about 15 minutes away too). We would recommend Victoria and this property to anyone interested in staying in the Santa Cruz area.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is spacious was perfectly equipped for our group of 4 adults and 2 infants. Victoria was very accommodating and welcoming. The location is perfectly situated between the coast and the West Side precinct (with supermarkets, restaurants, cafes). Highly recommend this place and we would love to stay again.

The perfect place for a vacation in Santa Cruz. Beautiful home, super comfortable beds, great couches and seating throughout the house. High class kitchen with comprehensive sets of cookware and dishes, and very nice appliances. Great fireplace and beautiful yard. Quiet street just a block or so from the ocean. Perfect!
I stayed here with my husband, 2 kids, and small dog and everything was absolutely perfect. The house was clean, bright and comfortable- and clearly some artists live here! The kitchen and hot tub were fabulous, the yard was lovely. Our dog enjoyed the short stroll to the beach every morning and evening. We were far enough from the bustle of downtown Santa Cruz to feel relaxed, but just a couple minutes drive from grocery store, surfing lessons, and beaches. Highly recommend and we would love to return!

Loved our stay in this beautiful house!
We felt very at home in this lovely west side house. The space was definitely more than we needed and perfect for when my 22 month grandson and his parents joined us for a couple nights. The owner left a lovely welcome note with a welcome package, and encouraged us to call if we had any questions.
I would definitely recommend this house for its proximity to the ocean and the attentive owners.

Summer Vacation 2015

My husband, daughter and her classmate stayed with our small dog.
The process of renting was smooth, and Victoria answered our email questions within hours.
The pictures were true, and house better than the pictures show. Everything is clean, hard surfaces, with an easy flow of space, and plenty of room. The downstairs has a kitchen with up-to-the moment appliances. The TV sets are new and ubiquitous. The outdoors is a small, grassy lawn, perfectly maintained, with a deck and pristine hot tub and surrounded by trees which allow nearly complete privacy. Even the nearby neighbors were welcoming to us.
To give you an idea of the owner's kindness and honesty: Victoria found our diabetic test kit, and mailed it to us immediately, gratis.
We had an exceptional experience and would definitely like to return.

Very spacious and well located house
We stayed there with my wife, 2 kids and my parents. The house is very spacious and very clean. The living room is large, the kitchen is well equipped and has an adjacent 2nd living room. The master bedroom has plenty of space with a bathroom. Kids bedroom could probably fit 4 kids.
The house is located few minutes walk from the ocean for nice long walks. We going to the Natural Bridges beach spending our afternoons there. In the evening we were going to the restaurants within walking distance (West end tap, Bantam, Kelly Bakery). The food was yummy for all. There is a very nice supermarket close by as well. Few shops are around and also some wine tasting places.
Kids loved it every day. We spent 5 days and could have stayed much longer.
