What a gem of a place. Thank you to Louise and Robert for the loan of your beautiful property. We had a lovely stay. Everything we needed was supplied. We do feel instructions for the shower would be useful, though.

We had a great stay at this home. Everything we needed was there, plenty of toilet rolls, hand soaps, washing up supplies etc. The local area is lovely and we had a great time at the pub and wacky warehouse down the road. Excellent communication and responsiveness from the hosts, would happily book again

We stayed at the property for 3nights in august and it was ideal for what we needed. We visited Alton Towers and it was a great base for this (30min drive). The house is well equipped and comfortable. Very clean and the check in was easy using the lock box. Would definitly recommend or stay again if we are visiting the area.

Great house for a comfortable stay. Clean and well equipped. Would definitely book it again when we are in the area.

Great location. Quiet and beautiful views. Only difficulty was locating the lock box on arrival which was quickly clarified by the owner. Lift was a great help for my mum who has bad knees. We had some great giggles.
Thankyou, would stay again.

The house is very nice and has spectacular views. We were concerned about the back garden though. Lots of building work going on so quite noisy and safety concerns as the back garden is on such a slope.

Stayed for three nights with our two dogs.
Plenty of room for us all and we didn’t use two of the rooms !
Everything that we needed was there.
Location ideal on the edge of the city - great for the dogs with big open space just down the road (5 mins away).
Great value for money and will be coming here again.

The basins in the bathroom & WC are the smallest ones you can ever seen. Water splash on floor when using it. The hot water of the taps are not working so I have to use the sink in kitchen.Temperature of water from the shower cannot be adjusted which is far too hot. I think the owner needs to replace the taps.

Such a fantastic property. Absolutely everything provided. The hosts are just lovely and so helpful. The lift and downstairs toilet are fabulous for anyone with a disability or mobility challenges. The sofa and beds are all very comfy and it is brilliantly equipped including WiFi and an excellent smart TV with Netflix, Prime and Disney plus available. Nicely situated in a very handy and accessible. Very, very, VERY highly recommended. We look forward to staying again when visiting family in Staffordshire.

I stayed at the property as I was having work done on my home so I’m local. The property was dusty throughout, the settee was really old and if you banged it the dust that came from it was terrible. You had a modern kitchen and bathroom and one bedroom had been decorated. The rest of the house is really really old fashioned. There was clutter everywhere and in every cupboard or drawer nowhere to put your food or belongings. The owner classed me as not a normal guest which insulted me basically because I wasn’t on holiday. She doesn’t leave you alone constantly messaging you asking me to stay in and wait for a plasterer to come when I said no she wanted him to let himself in but no my dog was in there and my belongings. Then she wanted to come and measure the shower base . Then she text at 8.45pm to tell me put the bin out even though I knew I’m not stupid the form was on top to when to when the bin men were due I told her I’d put nothing in it but she had another one with one bag a previous occupier had left then she was ringing she was outside putting the bin out she wouldn’t take leave me be at all she then moved the bins back to the wall which I had to put in a row as they had blocked the back door up so the enclosed garden isn’t an enclosed garden to let you dog out they could run of. You feel like she was watching you all the time. I couldn’t stay any longer as she just wouldn’t leave you be and two weeks later I’m in a different holiday let and being left alone

We were very pleased with the accommodation, which was more pleasant than expected and pretty close to where our family live. It was very handy having a lift for my disabled Stepdad and in general it was a comfortable home away from home. Good value too and nice owners. Would book again.

Short break travelling up from Devon with hubby, 86 yr old father in law and Dottie our Border Terrier, visiting family. The property is lovely, dog friendly and disabled friendly (through the floor lift, downstairs loo and extra large modern shower in upstairs family bathroom). Deceptively large property in a lovely rural area with fantastic views. The 2nd reception room (parlour) was handy when grandkids came over for a couple of hours so we could play games in there. I’m sure this room could also be doubled up as a 3rd bedroom should you bring along an inflatable bed.
Very cosy property, large windows and very light and airy.
Locally - Amazing dog walks on the doorstep at the country park just a couple of minutes down the road. (down Fir Tree road opposite the house, straight across the road to Woodpark Lane and then just before the road narrows on the right is the entrance to Florence Country Park. Great for the kids too and right on the door step!
If you don’t fancy cooking (like us) New Florence ( Greene King Pub and Carvery)is just down the road by the roundabout on Lightwood Road, offers a lovely carvery, play park and wacky warehouse to keep the kids entertained. Next door to it there’s also a Co-op and chip shop. Not sure what angle the couple of negative comments were coming from, but you can’t please everyone is suppose!
As they say, ‘the proof is in the pudding’, from reading the guest book and VrBo comments, this property has a huge amount of 3 and 4 time repeat visitors from many countries.
A great home from home whether for couples, families , pets or people with mobility issues. Exceptional value for money!

Our stay was amazing, just like home from home, I wish I had found this place sooner as before we stopped in a hotel and couldn’t have visitors, where here all our family came to visit us which was great. It was especially ideal for myself as I am disabled and can’t climb stairs so to have a lift up to the bedroom was fantastic, plus a downstairs loo. The house has everything you need and is in a lovely spot with lovely views, we just can’t fault it and we will definitely stay there again in the near future. We would like to thank the hosts Louise and Robert for having such a wonderful place to stay and being there if you need them. We would highly recommend staying here.

After booking the owners informed Mr that someone was coming to install WiFi during our stay and so we would have to either stay there whilst a stranger was in doing or works or we would need to be out for the day. Seeing as I booked this place as I needed peace and quite whilst I studied I needed the property at the time they said so I lost a lot of money as I was not apparently entitled to a refund so I will not be booking with vrbo again. This should have been advertised when I booked as I would not have done so.

Family of four staying here, two adults two kids (20 & 17) visiting family from abroad. Louise and Rob are the friendliest, most caring landlords we could ask for. The house was cosy and clean, well equipped and so homey! The only things we found difficult was that there was no WiFi and that there was no locks on the bathroom doors. Otherwise we had a fantastic stay and can really recommend Sunset View!

We enjoyed our stay at Sunset View in Lightwood, Stoke-on-Trent and particularly our visit to Trentham Gardens. It's not surprising that several visitors (who wrote entries in the visitors' book) have returned to stay there 3 or 4 times and many from abroad.
The most amazing thing for us was the lift, which meant we didn't have to carry our suitcases upstairs!

We booked in stoke as being centrally located in England for visits to relatives in the south, and to wales and southern scotland. Our choice served that purpose very well. The specific property was a nice home to which to return after our forays. As is clear from the above rating, we were completely satisfied on all the points listed. We commented to each other on several occasions that we were very satisfied with our choice. David & Stella

Great little place
Reasonably priced, clean and well equipped. Close to areas we wanted to visit, so excellently located. 15 mins to Monkey forest, 30 mins to the Peak District and a stones throw from a country park. Pub and convenience store a 10 minute walk away. Would definitely return to the house if we visit the area again.

Fantastic location, especially for dog owners
Fantastic house, with a great selection of board games for those rainy days. Decor is a little dated but the furniture is comfortable, clean and functional. Location is excellent for dog owners with a dog friendly country park less than five minutes walk away. Awesome value for money, would stay again!

Good sized house in handy location
We stayed here as a family of 4 (2 adults, a 4 year old and a 6 month old) for a trip to Alton Towers and Drayton Manor. The house is a great size but just a shame it isn't 3 bedrooms (the 3rd bedroom is being used as storage) as this would have been better for us with 2 kids. The bathroom and downstairs toilet seemed newer as did the kitchen. The rest of the house reminded me of visiting my grandmas house back in 1989! Nostalgic for me but a bit odd for a holiday home where some rooms were contrastingly modern. The rooms were of a good size but I would say that
- bring travel blinds if you like to sleep in the dark. The curtains did absolutely nothing to block blazing sunshine in July and luckily we always bring some because of the kids
- the arrival notes we had prior to coming didnt say where the key box was so we spent 5 mins hunting around for it on arrival
- there is no WiFi which is odd for this day and age...OK for adults who have phone signals but no good for kids on ipads or anyone needing to work on laptops etc. Also the one tv in the whole house is a 32 inch on a very low down tv unit. There is no WiFi so no options for Netflix etc. Just whatever is on freeview.
- there is a lift in one of the living rooms that goes into the 2nd bedroom. I cant count how many times I had to tell my 4 year old off from trying to mess about with it!
- lots of ornaments and expensive/antique looking nicknacks everywhere- again, if you have small kids....
- the main bed was not comfortable at all. Very small standard double, with no headboard and a lumpy bouncy mattress. My husband is almost 6ft and I am 6ft 1 and it was hard work each night trying not to fall out of bed or disturb the other person. My legs were literally hanging off the end of the bed.
- the house was quite dusty with lots of daddy longlegs and cobwebs in every corner. Didnt bother us as we used to live in an 1800s house and know how it can be but even on the first day when we arrived, bathroom skirting boards and windowsills and bedside cabinets were very dusty.
- the last morning we had a meter reading company turn up looking for the owners and wouldn't take no for an answer so we had to let them in and wait for them to do their thing before we could leave
All in all we had a good stay but only spent overnight and early morning/late evening in the house. Probably wouldn't stay again as we will soon outgrow 2 bedrooms and the main bed was just too uncomfortable for us.
Thanks!
