The little cottage is exactly as described. It is very tiny but adorable and comfortable.
Some cons would be that the stairs to the loft are a little steep but our child used them with no problems. The only real issue we had was that the BBQ Grill is advertised as a propane/gas grill but when we arrived it was a charcoal grill. And due to the fire bans we had to use the kitchen stove but thankfully it did come supplied with pots/pans. Some of the appliances, furniture and bathroom are a little outdated...but what this little cottage lacks in extra amenities is definitely made up for with the ocean views and easy access to the beach with private paths leading directly from the back yard.
If you do not need all the extra bells and whistles or traveling with kids and pets this place is perfect. It does have a camping/cabin feel, which we love. We would definitely stay again!

We loved the ocean view. It is a very cute cottage and very easy access to the ocean! It is a little older, but very comfy.

We absolutely loved this quaint cottage! it’s a bit off the beaten path while still being very convenient to get to. You can’t beat the absolutely stunning ocean views and beach access. We loved the old school feel of the space. Visitors should note that the upstairs loft bedroom is only accessible via a very narrow and steep ladder stair situation. The restroom is also very tight quarters. We did not mind this, but that would effect booking if mobility and the age of guests (particularly small children or older folks). We had hoped to work from the space and as there was Wi-Fi we were not too concerned about being able to do so. However, the Wi-Fi seems very intermittent. So if that’s an important part of your stay, be sure to take into account. Overall we absolutely adored this little retro beach cottage and can’t wait to come back!

It has a wonderful ocean view. It was a little older but still very cozy. It had easy access to the ocean. The loft had some narrow stairs to go up and down, so need to be careful. The deck on the back was very nice to sit and watch the ocean waves.

The crab cottage is a great house, my husband and I loved how close it was to the ocean.

Pros: Very cozy inside and out. Well-kept yard and path to beach.
Cons: We could not find a key to lock the digital lock and we were not told if there is a key. We had to leave the cottage unlocked when we were exploring, and when we departed.
The toilet paper provided was absolutely not useful - it had to be folded at least 8 times to be sanitary. We bought our own at the local store.

This was such a cozy cottage with a peaceful and serene view. We loved waking up every morning to the sounds of the ocean and seeing the view from our bed downstairs. The upstairs feels a little cramped and stairs are steep but since it was just two of us we didn’t use it. It was wonderful that we got to bring our two dogs they loved sitting at the window too!

Loved having the beach Right There! Cozy & funky place with lots of space heaters for warmth. Still big issues with WiFi and cleanliness. Bring your own extra blankets because there are none provided. Would think twice before staying again, and would only do it because of the beach.

Love the little cottage!

The proximity to the beach and the view from inside as well as the fire pit can’t be beat!
The cottage is your old fashioned funky beach shack. The beds are comfortable and the furniture adequate. Just make sure that you request a thorough cleaning!

The two of us really enjoyed our stay here and it was exactly what we wanted. We loved the rustic and old feel of the cabin and it was the perfect size for us to relax by the ocean! Hopefully will come back another day.

It's the perfect little cabin for those on a budget. If you're a high brow person then this cabin is not for you . What it lacks in luxury it more than makes up in the view and sorry walk to the beach.

Would definitely stay again . Pros vs Cons..
Pro: The beach location/view is prime, the home is fully stocked with everything you need (plates, cups, utensils, linens, toiletries, dog bowls etc), TV seems to be upgraded from what’s displayed in photos, it was warm and cozy this cold winter month. We had a great, relaxing time! Also enjoyed some clamming . WiFi (once you figure it out).
Con: The check in instructions need to be updated and it was frustrating that this has been mentioned in other reviews and not done. Those reviews were helpful to get us through it! Customer service were trying to be helpful but not able to answer questions. The lock to enter code is directly on the door, not to the right of entry as directed. The WiFi username and password provided are totally wrong and customer service are unable to help. Thanks to a previous review, I knew to look at the box, flip it upside down and you will find network name and security key (password). There is no microwave as pictured but there is a toaster and fully functional kitchen.

Great house. Perfect location. We really liked the fireplace and the view is awesome. Does need some attention and finish work. Would stay here again.

The location with the beach steps away and situated on a quiet street is ideal! Great yard for sitting around the campfire! The cottage is a rustic beach cabin with the necessities available. We didn’t need the beds upstairs, which was a good thing because the stairs looked scary. Overall a wonderful stay at the beach at the Crab Cottage!

The check in is easy and Vacasa is available in case you need assistance. The location is superb, the kitchen is well equipped, the cottage has a lot of character. Usually WIFI is excellent here. This time it was not working at all

I love the view, love the closeness of the beach. The cabin has most everything you need, except this time there was no coffee maker or Wi-Fi! Vacasa sent out Comcast on my 3rd day there and they discovered the network name and password were wrong! There would be no connection with the information Vacasa gave me! The technician gave me the correct information and I had Wi-Fi from then on. I informed Vacasa but the very next person was given the wrong information still. Vacasa had someone drop off a coffee maker on my fourth day there. I was thankful for that!

The cottage was basic but cozy and had an amazing view that could be enjoyed from the couch, the deck, or a bench by the fire pit. We enjoyed curling up on the couch by the fireplace and watching through the window as a storm rolled through. The town was pleasant and quiet.
If you’re looking for a newly remodeled place in a location with a happening night scene, this is not for you. Like the online listing describes, this is a cottage right off the ocean. Perfect for quietly enjoying the view or walking along the beach.

It was both mine and my partners first time at the Pacific Ocean. Wonderful space to stay! I loved the charming cottage and the location was amazing! A short drive to Olympic National Park and Forrest. Would absolutely stay again if and when we come to Washington from PA again!

Traveling with a 2, 7,& 8 year old, had a blast in the cabin and on the beach! WiFi is very slow and spotty weather it’s going to load anything, if you’re traveling with children that are tablet kids make sure you have downloads of their shows or very old school and bring some DVD’s to entertain them in the evening. Otherwise plenty to get into. Very quite street with low vehicle traffic. Would highly recommend.

Cozy little cottage but very nice and comfortable. Got hot on summer afternoons so im betting it would stay warm if you were planning an off season visit. Right off of some very lovely beaches!

Crab Cottage was a nice place for us to vacation with 2 of our grand children. Served our needs but does need some cleaning.

The location is hard to beat. The house is cozy with just enough room for four people. The yard, view, beach access and fire pit were really the highlight. Advertising that the house has internet service is laughable. Also telling your guest to just call the internet provider directly without providing a company name or phone number and having no cell service is off-putting and unprofessional. Towels and linens are abundant. Kitchen well equipped aside from coffee maker not working. The grill is not the one in the picture. We had a great time staying at the Crab Cottage regardless of the spaces minor issues.

Loved the beach front! Loved the comfy bed and the deck and little yard!

When we checked in there was sand and dirt in shower. The internet did not work. The BBQ was not in working order. The toilet flooded the first night poop water flooded kitchen. We called Vacasa international and they said they would reach out to owner, no one ever called. The next day toilet backed up again, called again they said they would reach out to owner and get back to us, no call back. Later same day septic alarm goes off. We call again, told again they would reach out to owners, again no call nothing. We where told by Vacasa International that we would get a full refund. Next day we wait for house keeping. Inform them my husband has cleaned up poopy water twice , had bleach spilled on him. They call the owner we where informed full refund. Finally maintenance comes out. Says the septic system is full.

Had a great stay. The house is smaller, but great location. Would stay here again.

We stayed here for my birthday because I wanted to be next to the beach on a budget. Loved that we could walk right onto the beach from the back porch. The wild and quiet wash of the waves were blissful as opposed to noise of a city.

Cabin may be a little sketchy. BBQ didn’t work but location is A+!!!

Much smaller than it looks, sleeping 6 would be very crowded. Internet didn’t work, no landline or reception for cell service. Fireplace didn’t work. Needs a lot of work all together.

This was my 2nd visit to Crab Cottage, and have already booked my 3rd visit for June! The Cottage itself is very clean, quaint and cozy. The kitchen is stocked with pots/pans/dishes/utensils, Mr Coffee coffeemaker and microwave. The shower has hot running water, and the faux fireplace is a nice touch for when it snows (like it did on my first trip!).
My dogs love the beach, and i love the mostly empty beaches i found ALMOST to myself adjacent to the cottage. You’ll want to bring your favorite peoples back again and again. =)

Not very clean and very outdated.
Socks in couch..wet towels outside but still charming because of location.
1.0 / 10.0
The access and view of the beach are the only redeeming qualities about this stay. There were disgusting dishes that were dirty and wet and put away. There was sauce all over the fridge. There was black mold on the shower and on the curtains. There was sand in the beds and in the couch. Not to mention all of the rust and holes in the home itself. It was overpriced and disgusting. So bad that we left an entire day early

Our family has stayed at the Crab Cottage several times over the years. It's simple, but clean and the recent updates have enhanced its charm. Great access to the beach, great deck and firepit. However, we will never use Booking.com again as it was a nightmare experience. Hopefully we can book the next reservation through another company. Always a good time at the Crab Cottage though.

BBQ did not work and tank was empty. Looked very rusty and needs to be put out to pasture. Ants were all over kitchen counters, had to clean and place traps that interesting enough were under the kitchen sink. The toilet clogged and flowed over on last day, I called in the afternoon and they told me they were sending someone and no one showed up. We had enough and left that night.

Easy beach access. The view.
8.0 / 10.0
Having the beach at your doorstep was awesome. Great value and views for the winter. Very quiet. It was close enough to day trip to the Olympic National Park as well.
4.0 / 10.0
The home is musty and shabby, yet clean. However, I was able to look past this just for the location and ocean. Love the fire pit. Very relaxing and quiet. You should know that the kitchen is not well stocked. Missing basics in kitchen such as pot holders, mixing bowls, and baking casseroles. There is one very used cookie sheet. Pots and pans were plentiful. The oven safe fry pan met most of my needs. There is a coffee maker, blender, and rusty toaster for the small appliances. Other reviews said the internet was good, but it was spotty when I was there. Comfortable sofa and beds. It has a flat screen TV now. The cottage is well past its glory days, but still cute and cozy.
