This place was the perfect hideaway in the mountains with a great view of the city below. It was the perfect distance from everything. There was plenty of space for maximum comfort. The hot tub was the perfect temperature on a cold night. I definitely recommend this place for everyone.

I wish they would put a few box fans in the closets for hot summer nights. There is no air conditioning and it got pretty stuffy in there and was hard to sleep. But overall it was a great place to stay for a night! It was very clean and well cared for and the view was amazing!

We were celebrating our 19yr anniversary- was expecting to have a note, champagne- something to welcome us and congratulate us for staying on our anniversary! The secondary place where we stayed- made our stay more special. This was just a normal overnight stay in a beautiful place, close to our hiking points. We will go again just not for a celebration.

It was a bummer to not know the parking lot was under construction. It made coming and going really difficult in an already tight parking lot. The real problems though were the bed which was rock hard. Seriously, I ended up sleeping on the floor at one point. Also the shades which are cute did not provide much privacy which you really want when your room faces other windows and a parking lot. The staff was friendly and the game room was a nice touch but the bed and scratchy linen will keep us from going back.

This is a historic property. Keep that in mind when you choose to stay here. The hospitality is amazing! We were warmly greeted at the door upon arrival. Our room was clean and in good order. There was an outside door that overlooks the city and a bay window with a great view! The kitchenette was completely stocked with EVERYTHING you need for your stay. It even has laundry detergent to do a load of laundry while you are there! The pool is HEATED and it was forty degrees while we were there and we swam both evenings. The view from this property is perfect for a sunrise view of the mountains. In the evenings we sat by the fireplace in the lobby that had a perfect fire going all evening. We stored our own wine in the refrigerator and drank it up by the fire. When we arrived the elk were in town and all around the property, it was wonderful to see! As some people stated yes, the water does go a little warm sometimes when it's hot but it wasn't very bad and would not keep me from staying here. We did hear the above resturaunt but we sleep with a fan on and didn't hear noise late at night. We really enjoyed our stay here and will probably stay here in the future! It is located very close to RMNP.

Loved it
Being first greeted by a lovely lady at desk was wonderful . The historic place is beautiful. Bed was comfortable. Room a bit cramped but was perfect for our stay in Estes. Close to town but far enough to be very serene & peaceful. Tried to go back at the end of our trip but there were no vacancies. Definitely would return .

Very nice place to stay when visiting RMNP.
The studio room is a nice size and very clean. It has a nice view. Be aware that it is located right below the restaurant so there is some noise until about 9pm each night. It didn't bother us, but could bother those who go to bed early. I'm not sure if they would be able to accommodate another room on busy weekends, but may be worth asking. The grounds (including pool), location, and lobby are great.

Nice amenities and friendly staff. Too much noise above 1st floor lodge. Bathroom had wet odor.
I appreciated having the stove and utensils and the proximity to the Rockies. However, being in the 1st floor lodge room beneath the restaurant was not good for sleep as every step and slide could be heard until 10pm. Because the property is 'historic', water running thru the shower pipes or bathrooms were rather loud. We were up by 3am everyday due to odd sounds running thru the pipes. We were amused by how the shower went from very hot to frigid cold randomly while in use, but we understand this is expected with an older property. The bathroom had a wet smell that we think came from the shower curtain. If we stayed here in the future, we definitely will stay well away from the restaurant area due to noise. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

NOISY!!!!!!!
The room was clean enough, had all the right amenities, and the staff was friendly enough, but I was placed in a lower level room that had the dining room/kitchen above it, so there were multiple people moving tables and chairs around, and running water until approximately 11:30pm. I was in town for 2 running races, needing to be up by 4am, and did not get any restful sleep due to the noise. Will not stay here again.

Nice hotel close to downtown Estes Park.
Very friendly staff, nice clean room with great views of the mountains. I would recommend this place to others. It has a very inviting and warm atmosphere with a nice resturaunt and bar. The only thing we had trouble with was the water in the shower randomly changing temperature.

Nice lobby, room was okay, bad carpet
This place has a real old, but interesting lobby. After that, it is downhill. Room was okay. Carpet badly stained and in need of replacement. Bathroom had been renovated and was very nice. Parking very limited

Comfortable historic lodge
Unpretentious, friendly, exceptional service, lovely outdoor areas with great views. We had a one bedroom in the annex which had everything we needed. Our stay was much too short and we hope to return!

Photographs well but does not live up to it!
What a disappointment. We could tell when we pulled up it was an aging property in need of a renovation. Our room was under the restaurant. 100 year old ceiling we listened to them move furniture until 11:30 pm. The second night there was a wedding reception overhead, think high school kids jumping in the bleachers loud. They have shoe horned too much furniture into room, one of those where you have to move something to do something. The bathroom had a lovely rose color laminate and the bath/shower had mix match faucets and controls. You could not maintain the water temp in the shower and it sounded like a cross between the space shuttle taking off and a cat being boiled alive every time you flushed the toilet. The restaurant and bar have been outsourced so you could not charge to your room. The bar had about 10 bottles of liquor to choose from, most were obscure, except for Jack and Crown. We went to the liquor store and tried to enjoy a glass of wine by the outdoor fire pit which did not work. This is a truly outdated property that COULD be fantastic. Judging by the low end fixtures and patch jobs, this place appears to be broke and cannot afford to update. Truthfully disappointed. Although, we were offered a $25 coupon to the BBQ restaurant down the road??? Why not to their bar or restaurant? Bizarre, I will not go back, I cannot recommend it. Oh yeah they still use the ridiculous brass keys, what a pain.

This place is gorgeous just like the pictures with such a homey warm feel and extremely kind staff.
I was worried because the price was so great (thought maybe some pictures looked nicer than they would be in person) but it was gorgeous. I got the smallest room available and it's perfect if you want something nice and comfortable and relaxing but not extravagant either. Much more beautiful and nice than any chain hotel room but the room was small like a cute little cottage room. Plenty of room, kitchen with stove, kettle, coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, cookwear, and plates and silverware, good sized bathroom with heat lamps in the ceiling (heaven), good sized couch big bed tv and a door to a gorgeous stone balcony. Plenty of room and even more amenities than a hotel room, just not extra blank floor space, so you get an amazing price. The bigger rooms would have more space if you need it! Fireplaces, tons of places to sit, never crowded, so friendly and peaceful and beautiful views out every window, and quiet people in general (although no one minded us loud folks). Just a great place. It's the first place I ever stayed in Estes Park and I'd never stay anywhere else. Was nicer to stay there than a shiny fancy expensive hotel room. If I was given $500 extra to spend on my vacation, I'd still stay at Crags Lodge and spend it on something else. Or stay longer. Wonderful place to stay!

Historic, classic mountain lodge
If you love old, rustic and don't need everything granite and tile, check out this historic lodge.
Winter visit ..... great place to return to after a day of hiking and snowshoeing!
A couple big roaring fires, hot chocolate, hot tub, great views of Estes Park. Wonderful place to be cozy and hear the wind howling outside.
Excellent meal in the casual dining room. Games and books and videos available in the library.
Lovely front desk lady.
This is a lucky find!

Even though you're just on the outskirts of Estes, you have the feeling of being "away from it all"
Was warmly greeted by staff. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The lodge has unique and interesting décor. Enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful old lodge!
We stayed one night at Crag's Lodge in Estes Park. The lodge is located in a great mountainside spot overlooking the valley and mountains surrounding it. Front desk was knowledgable and helpful. In our one evening there we saw plenty of elk and had a great meal. The room was simple and comfortable. A very pleasant place to stay!

Accommodations meant to be in the mountains, beautiful lodge!
Service was amazing from the start, very accommodating. Heated pool was a hit for our family. Grounds and room clean and well kept. We were placed in a studio on the ground floor with a back patio. The main complaint I have about this locatin is there are about 5 rooms in this hall that are below the lodges restaurant, and with the wood floors and age of this lodge it was very noisy from 7-10pm. We had our 3 year old with us, which means an early bedtime and this noise was an inconvenience. Otherwise recommend checking this place out.

Estes Park Crags Lodge
All the staff was pleasant, friendly and went out of their way to assist with any needs or questions. The first day the desk clerk gave really good restaurant recommendations. None missed the mark. Although you have to eat one night in the lodge, The View. Close to downtown Estes and the park. It is walk-able to downtown if you do no mind the hill back up to the lodge. Really enjoyed our stay.

Classic views and experience!
Very nice place and the staff were are very accommodating! Close to downtown Estes and a great donut shop for breakfast. FYI no AC... but usually cools down at night.
