About this house rental
This 1,100 foot cottage is perfect walking distance to everything Midtown Has to offer. Brooks Museum, Overton Park, Overton Square.... 20+ restaurants, bars,movie theater,Ballet Memphis,2 theater groups and live music.
The Space
I am a local contractor and designer who has taken this 1910 cottage and gutted it to the studs and made it a 2017 show place with attention to the details. Everything is new. Kitchen has range cooking and is fully stocked with everything you need to cook a memorable meal. Cozy dining nook in kitchen has seating for four. 2 bedrooms both have Queen beds with luxurious bedding and linens. 3 HDTV with cable,Netflix and WiFi provided to my guests. Back yard is fenced and provides a patio with comfortable seating. My goal in choices of finishes and furnishings was to provide better than a 5 star hotel quality me know if I accomplished my goal !! If I missed anything let me know and it will be provided.

It is all yours to use (one closet is locked for owners supply storage). Street parking directly in front of home available for parking. Keybox entry lock for front door makes access that much easier..

The Neighborhood
The neighborhood is by far the biggest draw for all guest who chose my cottage for their stay. Location,location, truly can take a cab from airport to my cottage and walk to activities,restaurants and bars to fill a long weekend and never drive. For venturing out of the neighborhood, Uber is is easy to Downtown,Bass Pro,Beale Street and Graceland. If driving, ample street parking In Front of cottage is available.

Home was as advertised, parking right in front, easy check-in. Host easy to get in touch with. Had everything we needed for oir short stay. Close to plenty of restaurant choices. Appreciated the lighting and magnifying mirror in bathroom! Only negative was the streaming svs on television-kept buffering, so couldnt really watch anything.

A friend and I liked the place very much. It’s convenient to fine restaurants, bars, and live music on Madison Avenue. In fact it’s walkable to Madison Avenue.
My only challenge was getting in as the instructions confused me the first time I tried, however Ben was responsive and helpful and no problems afterwards.
Our recommendation is +++++ and definitely stay there again.

The unit was exactly what we expected and very close to all the things we wanted to do.

Was welcomed by a messy bed, broken furniture, stained living room chairs, gum wrappers and crumbs on the table, couch looked like someone had just taken a nap on it and a drunk/homeless man sleeping on the lawn across the street. Dead bug on the ground, beer cans in the garbage and ice cubes all over the freezer. Spent 20-30 minutes in the house to make new lodging arrangements and left. Extremely disappointed.

It was obvious that this property had undergone a serious restoration project. Though the house was small it flowed very well. The place was very clean, the mattresses were absolutely wonderful! If I had any suggestions, it would be for the owner to clean up patio area and make it more inviting for his guest. It is more comfortable to be able to sit outside in privacy than on the front porch. The owner was very accessible and responded to our every need. Overall I would rate it an A-. This property was a perfect spot for a long weekend! It was quiet and cozy and a quick trip to many of the sites you would want to see. The host was communicative and available if needed. We would stay here again and I highly recommend this property.

This adorable cottage was perfect for our stay. Ideal location and tastefully decorated. All necessary conveniences provided. Uber cost to area attractions from this home is more than reasonable. 10/10 would recommend this rental.

We had hot water very quickly after that, I was able to shower comfortably like 15 mins later.

Great location
Very convenient location less than 10min to just about everything. (15min from airport & Graceland) thanks Ben for supplying the cottage with travel items and laundry supplies. Kitchen is well stocked all though we were enjoying local eats it is Memphis after all. Great price for extra space and convenience over a hotel.

Visit to Rhodes - Comfortable and Clean
Rooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable. Good shower pressure. Ben was responsive to questions via text. It was a bit chilly and it took nearly 24 hours for the heater to get the place warmed up. There are three TVs but seems like only two can be accessing the streaming service at the same time. Had difficulty with the TV remote in the main bedroom. The neighborhood feels sketchy; the doors were well secured. I'm not sure I would feel comfortable walking around. On street parking.

Ben was very helpful and easy get in touch with. He helped us determine whether it was safe to come to town on the first night of our reservation. There was an ice storm in the area. He was gracious in handling us needing to cut our reservation short. The neighborhood was quiet while we were there and the cottage was comfortable for our short stay.

Comfy Cottage
My family stayed here over Christmas and ended up actually being quarantined here because of Covid. Ben was responsive with an issue with the hot water and would look into the the system to ensure it didn’t happen with future guests. Thank Ben for a comfortable stay!

Our 2nd stay
This was the 2nd time we stayed here. Ben was easy to communicate with. He is very nice and the house was clean and in a great location. Just a few blocks (walking distance) of Midtown. Would stay there again for next time we go back to Memphis!

Very comfortable little house in uptown. Clean. Updated. Quiet neighborhood. We felt safe. Easy parking. Close to all of the tourist sites. Grocery store and liquor store about two miles away. The beds are very comfortable. I loved that old, worn recliner, and I wanted to take it home! The air conditioner works very well. Plenty of hot water. Strong wifi signal. The Keurig coffee machine was my best friend each morning, but I would have liked some larger-sized coffee cups in the cabinet. Only two suggestions:
1. The drape over the front glass door that is attached to the wall above the door makes it difficult to open the door. Maybe attach the drape to the door instead of the wall?
2. There were a few gnats constantly flying around, and not sure how they were getting in. They did not bite nor sting, and they did not really bother us besides just floating around the room. Maybe gnats are a Tennessee thing?
Overall very pleasant and comfortable stay at 1976 Jefferson. Very pleased. Recommended for a nice, quiet, and comfortable stay in Memphis. Much better than a hotel room.
