Ireland: vacation in paradise .......
where I have a cottage for self catering for rent. It is in the Wild West of the green island in County Galway, just above the hole mask, which has an underground connection to 5km distant Loch Corrib, one of the best angling in Ireland.
The house is surrounded by a green meadow, in a quiet location and has a fantastic view over the lake. The next towns Clonbur and Corr na Mona are 6 km away. The closest supermarket is the Post office at 800m distance.
Who can not do anything with these offerings, which need only trust to turn to me .... my free 'work therapy' in the house and garden is sure to get him well.
Incidentally, herbs and salads from my organic garden may be picked vain.
The house offers 4-6 people. It has a downstairs living room with wood stove, a kitchen and a bathroom with shower. Above with cozy holzverkeideten roof pitches a double bedroom and another bedroom with bunk bed and extra futon. Central heating does not exist, however, for a well-functioning wood stove, halogen heater and radiators .... It is not a 3-star hotel, but a very cozy, rustic Irish Cottage, for the tourists, who finally want to know what simple country life means.

We were greeted by our host, Rosi, when we arrived. She was very welcoming and understanding to the fact that we were late. Her little cottage was all that we hoped it would be. Simple, rustic, and everything you would think an Irish cottage should be. The location was great. Waking up to the view of the mountains was amazing. Rosi, was great and made sure we had everything we needed. There is a beautiful garden to explore if you have time. Hoping to go back again. Thank you Rosi for the wonderful experience.

Fab location , beautiful garden full of a huge variety of plants and flowers, very helpful owner, very old and small cottage but what we wanted instead of extreme modern amenities, owner even tried to get us bikes, cows in field beside you, easy blackberry picking. Think that a booklet ,file or folder with all the helpful hints for living in the cottage would help as too much to remember....could also put in details about local trips and amenities....lot of work but once it is done that's it!!!! Overall a great stay.

Beautiful location, wonderful host
The location in Joyce Country with nearby Connemara made for a wonderful location. Remote, quiet, with wonderful lakes and mountains nearby. The garden was beautiful. The host helped us find special places to visit and was caring.

EBeim Ankommen Glücksgefühle; bei der Abreise Abschiedstränen
Nach dem wir uns über die irischen Abenteuer-Straßen nach Clonbur vorgearbeitet hatten, wurden wir von den zwei Hauskeepern freudig begrüßt. Gwinny (auf vier Pfoten) und Rosi (auf zwei Beinen). Von der ersten Minute lädt der Ort dazu ein, zur Ruhe zukommen und die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Da ist zum Einen der wunderschöne, liebevoll angelegte Garten mit seinen aussergewöhnlichen Pflanzen; und zum Anderen das Häuschen mit seinen liebvollen, gemütlichen Ecken und verspielten Details.
Die Geegend um das Lough Mask ist fantastisch schön, und auc hdie Lage der Unterkunft ist wunderbar- ein schöner Rundgang direkt von der Unterkunft ist perfekt für den romantischen Abendspaziergang; das nahegelegene Örtchen Clonbur bietet alles was man braucht, Supermarkt, eine kleine, sehr feine Bäckerei, und, ganz wichtig, genug Pups ;-)
Egal ob zu der Westküste mit Steilklippen, zum romantischen Kylemorre Abbey. nach Cong, oder zum heiligen Pilgerberg Crough Patrick- alles ist mit dem Auto in nicht allzulangen Strecken machbar.
Kurzum: Eine Perfekte Unterkunft mit einer wundervollen Gastgeberin, die einen mit Informationen über Irland versorgt und auch den ein oder anderen Geheimtipp auf Lager hat!

Gute Unterkunft für ein paar Tage
Wir hatten dieses kleine Cottage von Rosi gemietet um von dort aus die Umgebung zu erkunden. Die Lage und die Landschaft drumherum sind super schön gewesen. Mitten in den Bergen und an einem See. Leider gibt es keinen wirklichen Zugang zum See aber das ist in Irland nun mal so. Das Cottage ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht aber auch nicht mehr. Da das Cottage mitten in der Natur steht sieht man dies auch im Cottage selber. Es gibt noch ein paar achtbeinige Mitmieter aber die haben uns nicht wirklich gestört. Was leider nicht im Inserat steht ist, das der Strom extra zu zahlen ist genauso wie die Reinigung am Ende wenn man sie nicht selber durchführen möchte.
Alles in allem ein gutes Cottage im Tagesausflüge zu machen, zum entspannen ist es meiner Meinung nach eher nicht geeignet.

En résumé Rosi est une "belle personne" : Souriante, disponible, toujours aimable. Le cottage est ... parfait, cuisine super équipée, déco sympa, jardin merveilleux.
Quand aux environs cela fait quasi 30 ans que je viens et je ne m'en lasse pas.

In diesem Cottage, in dieser Umgebung zuzüglich einer freundlichen, hilfsbereiten, aufmerksamen und äußerst netten Gastgeberin vergeht eine Woche wie im Flug.
Das Cottage ist exakt in seiner ursprünglichkeit mit naturnaher Umgebung beschrieben und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Interessante Ortschaften in unmittelbarer Umgebung sind immer einen Tagesausflug wert.
Die Anregungen für Unternehmungen von Rosie haben wir gerne und dankbar auf- und angenommen.
Wir können die Unterkunft für Menschen, die abseits von Lärm und Hektik und mit Liebe zur Natur und Ursprünglichkeit unbedingt weiter empfehlen.

An idyllic country getaway. Wonderful cosy cottage, well equipped with everything you need. The garden was an absolute delight. Rosi was the perfect hostess (along with Gwynnie), showing us the natural wonders of the area. A great place to unwind, relax, and find your creative muse.

Charmant petit cottage
Idéalement situé pour rayonner dans le Connemara, le petit cottage de Rosi nous a bien plu. Rosi est charmante, attentionnée et disponible. Son jardin est magnifique. Le cottage est bien équipé, nous avons apprécié pouvoir cuisiner et profiter d'un bon feu dans le poêle. Le seul bémol, douche un peu vétuste.

Vacation in paradise indeed!
This property and its very friendly and helpful owner more than matched the description and photographs of the property and surrounding area. The house itself is cute and quaint and we loved it. The garden is spectacularly beautiful and just how I like gardens to be - well-designed and full of interest, with lots of hidey holes and varied places to sit and enjoy the plants and spaces themselves but also the adjacent scenery. Your only problem will be tearing yourself away to enjoy all that this wonderful area has to offer - we visited three beaches (Glassilaun, Dog's Bay and Old Head) as well as spending much time at the beautiful Lough Corrib (top tip, there is an excellent swimming spot just outside Cornamona, only a few minutes away where we spent much time). We also visited Cong, Roundstone and Westport. Of course, it helped that our week coincided with a heatwave. Other thoughts, the drive down from Louisburgh to Leenane was a personal highlight, the very essence of Connemara. All in all, excellent in all respects and thanks again to Rosi for the opportunity to enjoy.

A lovely place to stay in beautiful surroundings with a warm and welcoming host
This cottage is a really authentic old Irish cottage set amongst a beautiful garden next to Rosi's house. Rosi is a wonderful, warm, friendly person and it was a pleasure to be her guest. The location is close to a local village with amenities as well as lakes, mountains and lovely countryside. A great base from which to explore the West of Ireland! Thank you Rosi and Gwinnie the dog :-)

Enchanting little cottage
we had a lovely week in the cottage and loved spending time in the beautiful garden, we never knew what we would see next with the many wildlife. the Accuracy of the online listing is good expect we did'nt expect the extra charge for electricity and cleaning, we put this down to a problem with site as when booked it did not state this. but it was fine after and had a great time, Rosi is very helpful and a lovely lady to chat to plus gwinny the dog is great company, lots to see in area thank you for a lovely stay

Erholung Pur
Wir haben unseren Urlaub in Rosis Cottage sehr genossen. Es ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und es ist alles so wie in der Anzeige beschrieben. Das Haus ist für eine kleine Familie sehr zu empfehlen, da es für die Kinder ein separates Schlaf- und Spielzimmer gibt und ein riesengroßer Garten zum Spielen einlädt.
Das kleine Cottage ist malerisch gelegen und in die Landschaft eingebettet. Man kann vom Frühstückstisch aus auf die Berge blicken und den Sonnenaufgang beobachten oder auf den Lough Mask hinausschauen.
Einzigartig wurde unser Urlaub aber vor allem durch unsere Gastgeberin Rosi, die uns zunächst in Clonbur abholte und uns in der folgenden Woche stets mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stand. Mit Rosi kann man bei einer Tasse Tee über Gott und die Welt quatschen und sich gleichzeitig Tipps für den nächsten Tagesausflug holen. Rosi nimmt sich wirklich Zeit für ihre Gäste und berät sie, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein.
Als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Connemara, Killary Harbour, Kylemore Abbey, nach Cong ins berühmte Ashford Castle oder nach Galway(nächstes Jahr Kulturhauptstadt Europas) ist das Cottage bestens geeignet. Auch für Wanderungen am Lough Mask oder Lough Corrib und Freunde des Fliegenfischens bietet das Cottage eine gute Ausgangslage. Besonders interessant für Familien mit kleinen Kindern: In Clonbur hat kurz vor unserer Ankunft ein fantastischer neuer Spielplatz eröffnet, den wir ausgiebig genutzt haben.
Zusammenfassend kann man sagen, dass wir unsere Woche in Rosis kleinem Häuschen trotz durchwachsenem Wetter sehr genossen haben. Wer auf entschleunigte Ferien mitten in der Natur steht und nicht den absoluten Luxus im Urlaub benötigt, ist hier genau richtig. Nochmal vielen Dank an Rosi, die unseren Urlaub zu einem besonderen gemacht hat.:)

What a great place!
The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, the location is wonderful, and Rosi is a most friendly and helpful owner. The cottage is old and has a charming atmosphere, and very important: all you need for a comfortable stay is there and works well: a comfortable bed and sofa, good heating, also on chilly days, and a kitchen that contains all you need, and in good condition: even the knives were sharp! The location, between two lakes, is very peaceful, with beatiful views, and lovely local wlking options. From here it is easy to explore Mayo, Galway and even Sligo and Clare. Finally, Rosi is very friendly and helpful, with her sheep dog Gwinny as a charming companion. The cleanliness and entire setup of this cottage and its lovely garden shows that she takes her job as property owner seriously. All in all, we had a really great week in this cottage, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it!

Idyllisches und uriges Cottage in Traumlage
Wir haben hier mit unseren Kindern (4 und 10 J.) 11 wunderschöne Tage Mitte bis Ende Juli 2019 verbracht.
Wer auf unabhängigen, erlebnisreichen und zugleich erholsamen Urlaub steht bekommt hier wirklich alles geboten. Ein liebevoll gestaltetes kleines Cottage, ein traumhafter und zugleich natürlich gepflegter Garten, Frühstück im Freien, Abende vor dem Kamin.....
Das Sägen und Hacken von Feuerholz ist für Kinder ein Highlight, genauso wie die wirklich sehr gut erzogene und liebe Border Collie-Hündin „Guinevere“.
Rosi war eine tolle Gastgeberin, die sich stets nach unserem Wohlbefinden erkundet hat, gleichzeitig jedoch angenehm unaufdringlich ggü. ihren Gästen ist. So wurden wir bei der Anreise im Nachbarsort abgeholt, mit Ausflugstipps abseits der offiziellen Reiseführer versorgt und auch Ihre Pub-Empfehlungen trafen im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes unseren „Geschmack“. Sie nahm sich sogar Zeit für einen kleinen Ausflug in der unmittelbaren Umgebung.
Die Lage ist für Tagesausflüge in sämtliche Himmelsrichtungen nicht weniger als perfekt, ohne in Hektik und Stress zu verfallen. Im Radius von 1h gibt es unglaublich viel: Wanderwege verschiedener Schwierigkeitsgrade (Gipfelbesteigungen mit unseren Kindern waren kein Problem), weiße Traumstrände, felsige Küsten, Berge, Seen, Burgen, kleine Fischerdörfer, größere Städte (z.b. Galway) - die Halbinsel Connemara ist ein echtes Juwel am Tage als auch Nachts (Sternenhimmel!!!) Einen Mietwagen sollte man natürlich haben.
Tag für Tag haben wir uns bei Rückkehr von unseren Ausflügen sehr „heimisch“ gefühlt. Unsere Kinder ging’s genauso, und auch Rosi & Guinevere haben sie ins Herz geschlossen. Sie wären gerne noch länger geblieben. Das alles gilt auch für uns Eltern;-)

Immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, sie hat gute Tipps für Tagesausflüge und die Unterhaltungen mit Ihr sind erfrischend und belebend. Super bel endroit bien placé pour visiter le Connemara. Rosi est très gentille et attentionnée et le cottage est plein de charme. Un tout petit bémol sur la qualité de la literie qui pourrait être meilleure, mais rien de grave.

Charmant cottage rustique et bohème aux portes du Connemara
Le cottage de Rosi est simple et rustique, mais a véritablement une âme et du charme. On se sent comme les invités de Rosi, dont la gentillesse et l'hospitalité sont sans égal. Une hôtesse attentionnée, très communicante et intéressante : une belle rencontre ! La maison était parfaite pour notre famille de 4 ; nos enfants de 10 et 12 ans ont apprécié de jouer avec la chienne de Rosi dans le grand jardin, d'utiliser tous les jeux mis à disposition dans le cottage, de s'approprier la chambre qui leur était destinée. Du fait d'une météo clémente, nous n'avons pas eu à nous servir du poêle à bois, mais cela doit être appréciable en d'autres circonstances. Nous avons apprécié tous les équipements mis à notre disposition (petit électroménager, quantités de casseroles, plats, etc.). Le jardin est une merveille et nous y avons pique-niqué, avec la vue sur les montagnes alentours et le Lough Mask à 2 pas. La région est magnifique et le cottage est idéalement situé pour rayonner de Galway à Westport en passant par Clifden. Très jolie balade à faire à Clonbur (Mount Gable) et très bonne adresse de pub dans le village (JJ Burke's).
