About this house rental
* No back-to-back guests policy continuing through 2023 due to Covid. Stay safe!
The Yellow House sits on an expanse of private land, surrounded by trees and an air of calm. Except for the occasional visit by deer, you can stay here in total seclusion, yet it's only a ten-minute walk to the Gumboot Cafe and other services if the mood takes you. A ten-minute walk in the other direction gives you beach access. There's a hot tub, a wood burner, cozy nooks and comfy places to read, write, or do nothing. It's a haven for creative thinking - you'll find there's something about this place that brings on the ideas. And if you love reading, stretch out on a sofa or garden chair, and enjoy a book from The Little Library of The Yellow House. If you're not really into writing, reading or doing nothing, don't worry, you'll be cured during your stay.
There are three bedrooms - two have queen beds and one is set up as a writing room/study, with the sofa turning into a futon bed to sleep one. It also has a walk-in closet with a place to hang clothes. The house sleeps 5 adults max. I don't take big groups.

What a beautiful setting for my family to come visit me. The house and garden were perfect, large open kitchen and dining room meant that we could prepare our own meals and play board games in the evenings. The location was perfect can walk to a small store, coffee shops, the beach so easily. Thank you for everything Jackie.

Definitely more rustic than I hoped. Nice area with the kitchen, wood stove and eating area. However the master bed is not great as it sags badly leaving me and my partner jammed together. Luckily we are smaller people since the en-suite toilet is too small for larger individuals. Also the BBQ is a camping model and very small. If you don’t have a fire going you must run the very loud heater in the dining room. Lastly, the main frying pan, which we used a lot, doesn’t work great and you need to use a good deal of oil and still everything sticks to it.
Loved the area, just wish the home was better set up as a proper rental.

We had planned a weekend in Roberts Creek - my brother had rented a place nearby and we found the Yellow House. We went out exploring in the daytimes and stayed in on the evenings. Great proximity to Roberts Creek - walkable. Comfortable beds. Loved the wood stove given the frosty evenings in late November. Our sons report the hot tub was nice - late November was not my ideal weather so my wife and I didn't have a dip.
Some really amazing hikes in the recommendations from the owner. Liked Cliff Gilker for example. Each day I made a coffee and walked down to the water for dawn, watching herons, eagles and otters as the sun came up over the water.

Great property and family friendly. Lots of great games and puzzles to play. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate. A little too long a walk to the beach with small children on the roadway for our comfort.
Bathroom sink drainage slow, probably needs a plunger to it.
Also my grandson accidentally took the directions for the Bananagram game with his games. Is there a mailing address we can send it to?

Comfortable home in quiet, serene setting. Great jumping off point for exploring both Gibson’s and Sechelt.

"Enjoyable" and a very "Unique" setting!
Potential is there but a deep clean is necessary. More instructions would be helpful for what bedding is available for the fold out couch. Full propane bottles would have been appreciated on our arrival rather than having to go out and purchase them. We loved the spot annd the quaintness of the setting.

Another relaxing weekend in the Yellow House
This was our 2nd time here, and it was equally awesome as the first time. We just love it there.
Communication with Jackie was excellent, the descriprion of the property accurate, and our expectations completely met.
We just love this place and we are already planning our next gateway at the Yellow House.

Peaceful Sunshine Coast stay
We had a lovely weekend at the yellow house. It was just what we were looking for, a comfortable quiet place on a beautiful treed property, in close proximity to the beach and charming Roberts Creek. We spent our time exploring the garden, walking to the beach, and wandering into Roberts Creek to the Gumboot Café. During our trip we saw deer, seals, golden eagles and bald eagles, and many birds. It was lovely, and we hope to return!

Excellent place to stay on weekend
All is excellent. In my opinion is missing another full bath because one of them is small.

Great location and pretty cool house
Great spot in Robert’s Creek, we had barred owls wake us up one morning with their fighting/mating calls (which I loved), deer in the yard one day. Overall a lovely time.

The Yellow House in Snow
We stayed in the Yellow House for about a week at the beginning of January in deep snow. Awaking to a view of snow capped trees & bushes was such joy & each day we enjoyed a brisk walk to the beach & back, often coming back via the little village of Roberts Creek to pick up something from the general store. There was ample firewood to keep the woodfire going & we often all huddled around the table in the kitchen, chatting over leisurely meals & enjoying the warmth of the fire. Covid-realted closures or restrictions plus treacherous weather precluded some of the activities we might have done, but overall this was a great place to stay & met our hopes & expectations. Many thanks to the host who responded immediately to any message we sent

Great spot for a private getaway
We came here for a girls weekend away in Nov to enjoy some much needed R & R. This place had everything we needed and we hope to come back again in the future.

Well equipped little house in the forest - easy walk to the pier, beach and the Gumboot Cafe. The hot tub was particular treat after a day of hiking.

The (Wonderful) Yellow House
My two grown children and I had a lovely stay at the Yellow House. The house is nestled in the woods in a quiet location. It was absolutely as advertised, a lovely older home that was perfect for our few days away from the city.
The house is just a hop from the town of Roberts Creek, the Roberts Creek pier, the Gumboot Cafe, and some ridiculously great ice cream at The Folly Food Shop, and it's an easy drive to Sechelt and Gibsons.
Jackie was a pleasure to communicate with before and during our stay. She helped make our vacation a really lovely one and we're happy to give The Yellow House are highest recommendation.

A super lovely house
We would have stayed longer if we could! A super lovely, quirky house, and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The hot tub was amazing and WiFi was good for those of us who had some work to do. Also, loved all the art!

Beautiful little haven
The lovely Yellow House and it's gorgeous garden were just perfect for my partner and I, and our 6 year-old. The hot tub was the cherry on top. The location was very convenient as well! The owner, Jackie, is very easy to communicate with. We would definitely rent it again!

Cosy house in the snow
We stayed here for a long weekend in feb and it snowed quite a bit..it was a lovely cosy cabin..good heating, nice kitchen with wood burning fire, and we particularly enjoyed the hot tub. Great location for coastal and forest walks.

Loved our little getaway
Very secluded, which very nice when you go in the hot tub. Loved the area, and loved the wood fireplace.

Fantastic yard
We had a lovely stay. The yard was large and the kids could run/ play and go on adventures in it. Very nice hot tub and barbecue. The house is on the older side but charming and we loved having access to a good selection of books while staying here. The beach is a short walk away and if arriving when the tide is out, there is a lot of fine sand to play and swim on.

Return to the Yellow House
This was our second stay at the Yellow House and our first getaway since the covid-19 re-opening of the province went to phase 3. As before it was a wonderful place for a romantic getaway, quiet and very private nestled in the trees. We did some take-out from the Gumboot and visited a couple of restaurants and a bakery in Gibson's. We were happy to see that all business's were taking social distancing and customer safety seriously as it was our first time visiting a restaurant since February.
Back to the house, it is very well outfitted with everything you might need, our one disappointment was that the hot tub was not ready for our use the night of our arrival as they had drained and thoroughly cleaned it earlier in the day and it takes a day for it to get back up to temperature. Other than that the stay was perfect and we hope to return again in the not too distant future.

Highly recommended!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jackie's place. The home and property is peaceful and private, and the backyard is huge and makes you feel like you're completely in the middle of nature. Fantastic selection of books to read while you're there as well. We'll be back!

Great romantic getaway
Private property in a quiet neighbourhood, within walking distance of the ocean, and restaurants and a short drive to Gibson’s or Sechelt. The house is well equipped and the bed was comfy. We enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day under starry skies. The owner was responsive. I would recommend this property and I’m sure we will be back

Wonderful time
Loved the property, the house, and everything about the location. We were a short walk from the cutest town for miles around. — and steps away from the RCLegion — also one of the cutest little Legions we've ever seen. Amazing. Thanks for a wonderful stay in beautiful Roberts Creek. We left totally refreshed and relaxed.

A quiet retreat
Quiet setting close to everything we needed when we came for a wedding. Would like to stay again when we had more time to check out more of the neighbourhood.

Super cute place! No complaints

Sophisticated cabin in the woods!
Can we live here please?
The hot tub was our selling point but the funky and rustic kitchen had more than enough amenities, the comfortable places to relax and watch the snow falling on cedars were stylish, and the access to the most delicious restaurant and live music at the legion was a quick stroll away. Bring a light though, the road is dark (which means plenty of stars!). Thanks for the home away from home!
