Came with family to hike Olympic Natl Park and visit PNW. Central location was good but description was not clear that the house is right next to a large hospital where cars park on the street In front.
Had most everything we needed (paper products included). Comfortable beds but bedding needs to be washed and carpet upstairs needs to be removed. Agree with previous review that house needs deep cleaning ( very dusty) and windows need to be washed.
Tonya made check in easy and was available by text, but initial communication with Jim could be more responsive. We had wanted to check in early but were told it took 7 hours for housekeeper to clean. We are disappointed to find the house not super clean and the trash outside already full. Loved having deer who seemed to live/frequent the yard. Saw the most wildlife there- gulls on the roof, and raccoons in the yard too. No AC but with windows open it was cool and comfortable day and night.
Fans in room were great and nightlights provided were a nice touch.
Overall it was a great place to stay, but with the price we paid it should have been cleaner.

We loved being right on the ocean and close enough to walk to a few places (the park, coffee). The location is just a 10 minute drive to one of the entrances of Olympic. The house itself was plenty big for our group (4 adults, 4 kids), but it is a mix of newer/renovated and dated. Check-in was a little inconvenient because they needed to meet us at the house to sign paperwork. I've never had to meet a host at the rental before and it just meant we had to be available for that. We also had an issue with a realtor dropping by and going into the house while we were out, which didn't feel great. And, we weren't aware that we would be sharing the backyard/fire pit with the smaller house that's on the same property. All in all, it was a good trip and the house worked for us minus those few things.
5.0
We had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful and the grounds were well represented in the photos. When we chose this location, the backyard was a major deciding factor. However, the listing does not disclose that the backyard is shared with the guest house that adjoins the property. Therefore, we had visitors in our backyard on a regular basis. The backyard is large, but what is problematic is that neither bathroom has a window covering and are easily visible to people that may be in your backyard.
We also felt that the house, as a whole, needs a deep cleaning. Windows and furniture were dusty and there were some dirty dishes in the cabinet. Overall, we weren’t disappointed in this property, however, we feel like the listing was inaccurate regarding the shared space.

Superb! The property was perfect, the view incredible. I look forward to our next stay. Honestly, a great experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Convenient to Hurricane Ridge and downtown Port Angeles. Plenty of room in the house and a large, flat back yard for the kids to run around. Everything was well stocked. Games available to play.
They are strict on not wearing shoes in the house, which is understandable and not a big deal because we have the same rules at our house. Just a heads up to bring “house” shoes if needed!
I knocked off a star because check in was different than any other VRBO - we had to meet with a lady on site, walk the property to check for damage, and sign two additional documents, which made me slightly uncomfortable (you really don’t have a choice but to sign them at that point). Other than that, I highly recommend this property!
5.0
Positives: Spacious home with beautiful view. Beds were very comfortable. Seating in the living room was ample and comfortable. Beautiful yard.
Negatives: when we arrived, we were met by a lady who was there to walk us through the house. We were asked to sign a couple things, one which was something saying nothing was damaged or broken, which I’ve never been asked to do before. We were told to take off our shoes and that if we needed any temperature adjustment, we didn’t have access to that and would have to text the owner. We were there in May, so the house was never hot. We used the electric fire place in the living room when we got chilly.
Other than the awkward check in process, we had a nice stay and enjoyed being in a house with so much character and space.
5.0
We were a group of seven who stayed here in the early summer.
The best thing about the property is definitely the view out the back. There are some nice chairs on a back patio where we had our coffee every morning while looking out over the ocean. The location also offers easy access to Olympic national Park.
The kitchen was stocked for cooking. There were some basic spices which was helpful.
We enjoyed the fire pit - had a great time one evening roasting marshmallows.
I would like to emphasize the fact that there is a no shoe policy in the house. It does say this in the property description; however, we didn't pay enough attention. This was a significant factor for an older member of my party who has some arthritis in her feet. I would definitely bring house slippers if this is an issue for anyone in your group
Although the house had been cleaned when we got there, it was a fairly superficial cleaning and there was still plenty of dust about. The check-in process was also unusual. I had never before been asked to sign separate damage waivers or perform a property inspection to assess for pre-existing damage at a VRBO. The list of checkout chores was rather onerous given the size of the cleaning fee that is being paid for the property.

The property was at a great location with nice views and walking distance/short drive to get coffee and the bakery which was fabulous. We had a family of deer that visited us everyday relaxing in the front and back yard! We didn’t cook as we were attending a wedding celebration located a short drive from our rental. We were told that the dish washer was broken the day we arrived and waiting for a spare part. Fortunately this was not a problem, not having to cook. All the bedrooms were nice, with 2 having a great view of the bay. The one downside was there was only 2 bathrooms in the house, one upstairs and one downstairs. This was not a big issue for us, as there was just four adults (2 couples). I actually wish we would have had more time to relax and enjoy the house, but our wedding activity kept us busy! I never made it to the downstairs basement where there was some games/activities we could have enjoyed.

We had 8 adults and there was plenty of room to spread out and have meals inside and out. The views from every room in the house were amazing. We would highly recommend this property.
5.0
The house was absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The kitchen was stocked with any equipment a chef could want. A family of deer graced the grassy areas! Great communication with the property manager.
The only downside for our group was that seven of us (three couples and a single) found having only two restrooms a little tight -- especially in mornings when we all wanted to be out of the house early for seeing the sights! The bathrooms were well maintained, though, and we never ran out of hot water!
I look forward to staying here again.

We enjoyed our visit so much. Even though the home is old it did not feel that way but yet kept the character and sense that you were in another century. We had children that went to bed at 8:00 and we didn't have to tiptoe around for fear of waking them so the walls are not thin like you would think an old house would be. We will defiantly go back and stay with our family again.

Wonderful - good for entertaining guests, quiet location.

We were a big group of 6 adults and 2 kids, who fitted nicely into the spacious & beautiful home. The location of the property is amazing with unencumbered views of the bay, and we could see big beautiful cruise ships sailing with their bright lights on, in the nights, from our bedrooms. The wide open space both in front and back of the house was a great attraction for the kids who spent most of the time there running around. We even got to see deers (mama and baby) come to the lawns regularly, which we could capture through our lenses. We went for walks into the town, which was a stones throw from the house, even the beach front restaurants. The house was immaculately kept at the time of our check-in, and the host(s) were extremely nice and welcoming. Overall an amazing experience!

The home is situated on a beautify lot overlooking the bay. We enjoyed watching the ships passing by and the spectacular sunsets and Hunter moon rising in the evenings.

This home is a glorious place to base all your Olympic National Park adventures out of. The pictures show you everything, well situated overlooking the straits of Juan de Fuca. Hurricane Ridge visitor center is just up the road. Whale watching is available in Port Angeles. The house itself is large, clean, comfortable and quiet. The reservation process and property managers are easy to deal with and our family loved our time there.

Excellent!
Beautiful home with amazing views, comfortable bedrooms and living space. We felt like we had our own private location because the property is very private and peaceful. Great place to spend time with family for our reunion. I could also visualize people having a beautiful wedding in the backyard. Staff was very friendly, easy to contact and available. If we come back to Port Angeles, I would definitely stay here again, and I would also recommend others to stay here also. Thanks for a great memory!

Truly a spectacular property and area made for a memorable spring break.

This is our family's 2nd time staying at this house. It is centrally located to walk to restaurants and parks. The house has all the amenities you could wish for. When we stayed during the summer, it was relaxing to barbecue with the Port right in the backyard. During Thanksgiving it is in a picturesque location with the town beautifully decorated. The house is colonial style and kept up beautifully. A great house to relax in at night by the fire, reading a book or watching a movie. Close by swimming pool, grocery stores, restaurants and the movie theater. This house is one of a kind and a cozy stay.

Family Gathering
Just finished a week long family gathering at he Caroline house, Wow ! We had 3 couples and our mother for the week so the big 4 bedrooms were a must. The rooms are very large. In fact, the house is very large. We ended up using just about all of it. We cooked in every breakfast and dinner so the kitchen with lots of counter space and island came in handy as did the separate dinning room with huge table. The outdoor gas grill was also put to good use. Additionally there was outdoor table seating on a patio. At night we hung around the fire pit or played pool into the late hours (people in bed sleeping reported they couldn't hear us at all down in the basement rec. room ). The gas fire place in the Huge living room was much appreciated.
The house is in a perfect location , within a short walk to the Ferry pier and water front or
down town streets. However, you would never know it when you were at the house, located on a bluff overlooking the water on a quiet dead end street you have spectacular view of the inlet, harbor and all the big ship activity. Along the water way below the house is a paved walkway that goes for miles and miles in both directions. We even saw a " raft " of river otters playing one early morning. Sunrises over the water were incredible !
We had two cars parked in the driveway, however the parking area is so large we are still able to turn the cars so you didn't have to back out of the driveway.
Lastly - our contacts Jim and Tanya were super helpful. They quickly responded to my post booking questions and were accommodating to my requests.
Book the house - you will love it.

Amazing experience!!
We give this home an absolute 10 star rating. We had such an amazing time in Port Angeles and this home was a large reason for that. It has luxurious amenities, fine details, large kitchen, great craftsmanship, large grass areas and trees, and an INCREDIBLE view. We saw wildlife straight from the kitchen window and it was extremely easy access to town.
The outdoor area was so fun to grill and look out on the gorgeous view. I especially loved the massive windows in two of the upstairs bedroom windows with a perfect landscape view of the water. And EVERY bedroom upstairs had a view of the water from their window.
The kids had a blast in the basement downstairs with all the games and amenities.
I can’t recommend this enough. Wonderful owner as well and extremely easy to work with and very clear communication.
Enjoy your time here!

Gem of a home
Two families (10 total) enjoyed staying in this home for 4 nights on our 2nd leg of our PNW trip. The house is very clean, one of the cleanest we have stayed in over the past 20 years we have been renting homes for vacation.
The beds were comfortable however 2 had to sleep on air mattresses and one on a couch since we have 4 boys who are all over 6’ tall and aren’t comfortable sharing a bed.
The view from the house is spectacular. We enjoyed sipping wine on the back lawn and watching the sunset. We enjoyed meals at Kokopelli (reservation needed), Chestnut Cottage and Frugal’s. The kitchen was spacious and we appreciated the crockpot as it made it easy to plan for dinner in while we hiked in the area. We enjoyed Hurricane Ridge and walking to the shops in town.
Overall, great trip. Thank you for allowing us to vacation in your home.

The check-in process was very smooth! And Tonya was great! As with any trip, there can be delays. We were about 30minutes later than we anticipated. But we were able to communicate with Tonya via text and she was very responsive and flexible! The form to fill out just took a couple of minutes. A quick tour and off we were!
The rooms were spacious. It was nice having ceiling fans in every room. It was Father's Day weekend, so there wasn't a need for us to adjust the thermostat at all, but just be aware that it is controlled remotely by the owner due to previous tenant's inability to be responsible vacationers. A quick text to the owner to make any heating adjustments if it's needed. It never drops below 68, which is perfect anyways.
Keep in mind, this home is 100+ years old. The floors do creak. The doors also creak a little. But all in all, it wasn't bothersome to us and didn't seem to wake the kids, which was the most important.
The home came equipped with several things that most places don't. Plenty of kitchen items, toiletries, etc. A previous reviewer mentioned the shower turning ice cold. Well, that happened to me, but it was very clear as to why that happened. I was in the upstairs shower and then mid-shower, someone else decided to a shower downstairs. I got iced out. But it wasn't the owner to blame, but the selfish hungover guest that was tired from a day of golfing =)
The location was perfect. A short drive to town and to the beach. We were also able to walk from the residence down to the walking trail along the beach.
The yard was perfect for kicking a ball around and the kids blew bubbles.
This was a great weekend and a very nice place to stay!
