Cute and cozy cabins in the woods - great job decorating and overall “theme” - lovely!
Curtain needed on shower window.
3.5
Cute cabins in a quiet rustic setting
Pretty far from main highway

Amazing location, self contained log cabin in the woods. Very peaceful and quiet. The cabin itself was very clean and comfortable. Would have loved to have stayed longer.
4.0
Adorable cabins and setting. Good restaurant on property.
Many cabins are “dry” with no water, sinks, or toilets. A walk to the restrooms is required… and quite inconvenient in the middle of the night.

The restaurant is amazing. Staff is awesome and friendly.
We didn’t like the small hobbit cabin. The foot was small for my 6’3”.
4.5
The whole set up of the lodge property was impressive. The restaurant was tasty, the staff very friendly, and the lake and creek were picturesque. We stayed in the “Hobbit Hole”. It was very small, but adorable and clean. The mattress could have been more comfortable, but with the sound of the rushing water nearby we actually slept great. The showers and bathrooms (no plumbing in cabin) were close by and there was no wait.
The mattress could have been more comfortable.

Wonderful little property with the creek and pond providing a beautiful setting. The cabins were super cute and cozy. Really nice having a coffee shop and restaurant right there (especially since there's not much else around) - everything tasted great! Live music was nice too.
Staff that checked us in (a kid) didn't give us much info. Bathrooms were really cold and shower situation was uncomfortable ("wet" bathroom so no shower mat, shower rack just sat on floor).

great location, amazing staff, enjoyed it very much.

cosy cabin
The bed was too small. For a couple it is oké maybe, but not if you are travelling with a friend.

The whole place is like a magical warp through time to a place that is beautiful and untouched. My family and friends can’t wait to go back. The dry cabins are perfect, and the new bathrooms that are shared are immaculate. The staff is phenomenal. We are still raving about it!!
I hope it never changes. Soooo amazing!

we loved our dinner at the restaurant, but our cabin was dirty and only had one comfortable bed but advertised that it slept 6. Shower head was broken off and laying in the tub.

Nice location by a creek.
The young women who were at the front desk (also their store) sounded nice but were totally a shame to deal with. The one at check in was indifferent to anything we asked. When I said I didn’t see how we could fit 8 people when there are only 7 sleeping spots, she brushed it off by saying everyone manages to fit 8-9 people there. Zero empathy. The morning one cheated on the child we sent to the shop to get some food. she didn’t give her about 40 cents in change that she owed, and when the child called her out in that, responded she was out of coins. She also applied additional pressure at the child stating she could cal her manager. So she used the fact it was a child in front of her and basically robbed her of change, didn’t explain it, and then threatened with additional power. What a shame! I didn’t go back to take care of that only because I heard the story later after we had left. But the owner of the lodge should care enough to address the attitude with the staff.

Very NOT clean. Heavy dust on everything. Price for quality was ridiculous.
Simply dust and clean properly. Price for the quality was horrible.

cute location

Great area, full of stuff to do and food quality/options. Bed is comfortable
We didn’t have a toilet or bathroom in the cottage. I prefer at least toilet to be in the cottage so you don’t need to run out to rain every time you are in need.

Beautiful location and grounds, nice cabin, fun activities (pond, paddleboat, fire pit with wood, gold panning box), great restaurant with live music and excellent food. Well maintained shower/bathroom hut. Perfect place for families, couples, kids.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. This also has a community fire pit with a smores pack in the room. Such a fun place to stay. The restaurant, the Dirty Skillet, has great food, beer and friendly service. You do share a bathroom, but they are clean.
3.5
Restaurant and live music. Location and friendly staff.
Rooms and bath house were not clean. When booking we did not understand that the rooms were dry. This should be more clearly noted in the booking information up front. We found out in the welcome email a day or two before arrival.

It is a gorgeous piece of property. The pictures I have off my porch look like a panting. They are owner operators so onsite all day to help and very friendly. The restaurant on site was good with a decent selection of food and local beers.
I wouldn’t say it is a didn’t like. However if I did need to a place of improvement. It would be be to separate the toilet from shower area. They are shared space and when they are busy if children want to bring their phone to the bathroom and hang out for a bit you can’t really do anything about that.

no breakfast. We had dinner at restaurant and was excellent as well as service
I missed any statement that cabins were dry. Being 70 years of age we weren’t prepared for middle of night walk to bathroom but of course it was not dark!

Beautiful spot. There was a babbling river next to the cabin that overlooked a pond. Staff was helpful and friendly. Had a great time!
Dry cabin that’s far from the shared bathroom…

Friendly staff, rustic setting and restaurant/bar.

This one is difficult for me to rate because I am sure I somehow messed up on the reservation by not reading the fine print. We spent 11 days traveling across AK and all of the reservations were as expected but this one. I missed the fact that this was a ‘dry’ cabin…no indoor plumbing and wasn’t aware until it was too late to cancel and find another hotel. The Trapper Dan cabin was cute as can be and the little (emphasis on little) pond out front was great for families with kids. Our family of four adults made it through one night of our two night reservation and I was up at 4:00 a.m. trying to find lodging with indoor plumbing. Two of the four adults are in their 60’s and have bladder issues needing to make multiple trips during the night to an outdoor building with two toilets for everyone. There were two rooms in a separate building with one toilet each and two showers in each of those rooms. During the day this building was shared with the on-site community restaurant. The Dirty Skillet had excellent food and the staff was wonderful.
*Having said all of this…I highly recommend the place for families with children and/or if you like camping or a lower level of glamping. The area is beautiful and the town of Hope sits in a picturesque location.
Suggestions: be sure the site/information is clearer on outdoor facilities and be sure someone is checking the outdoor bathrooms/showers for cleaning since it is utilized by a very large number of restaurant patrons as well as the cabin rentals. I would also find a way to put a lock on outside of cabins so tenants can leave their belongings when out of the area. The only lock is inside and it is a big latch hook.
I did email the owner and called to leave a message about our early morning checkout a day earlier and have not heard back from anyone. We were not given a refund for the second night and we had to find last minute lodging so this one excursion doubled our expenses for a one night stay.

I loved this property. The second I showed up, I was greeted by staff. She gave me a quick tour of the property and showed me to my cabin. The cabin was so cool! It had a porch with a table and chairs right next to a fast moving creek. The restaurant had amazing food as well. I would highly recommend staying here!
It wasn't an issue for me, but there are no separate bathrooms here.

Bathroom far from our cabin. We are elderly so need to use it at least a couple times each night.

we stayed in their hobbit cabin, small but you ll have everything you need! there even is a woodstove and an electric one!
we loved the sauna!
the restaurant serves very good food.
the staff is super friendly.
will recommend.
nothing, perfect as is!

It was noisy, but that was not fault of the lodge. Kids were screaming until 10 pm.but my cabin was in a noisy place. The sauna did not heat enough ( in twenty five minutes to break a sweat , so that was disappointing . I like the woods and the duck . Wish my cabin had a shelter from the rain , I would recommend a place with deck to friends interested in staying here. As well as quieter cabin. . Disappointed with the salad , not as represented .
See above . The cabins are pretty and the lnight lanterns were great as well as sound of creek .

Nice outdoor deck, good food and music, very kind staff, cute duck (ben)
