In Anchorage just for an overnight before a meeting. The hotel is good enough. It was a bit noisy. The breakfast isn't great, but it is free. Check-in was quick. The Wifi is fast.

Not so clean. The air-conditioner was very noisy, so we could not turn it on.

Would have enjoyed more variety of restaurants closer to the hotel.

Although hotel rates appear expensive, this was better value than the Aviator, 1/3 extra for more modern room which I don’t consider good value

Location was ok as we could walk downtown and there was a large open park across the street. Breakfast was ok, but there were no forks one morning! Also the pool was “out of service” and looked like it had been for awhile because it was filled with furniture and boxes. Lastly, we asked for a late checkout until the time of our shuttle pickup but were told we could only stay an extra 15 min.

Freshly painted and the room was lovely. The laundry facility was great. The breakfast needs improving and could be better. Very crowded in the breakfast room.

The hotel room had a noticeable odor similar to a nursing home.

The AC was incredibly loud and work us up every time to kicked on. The room was very dated.

Way overpriced for the quality, this Clarion is a 3-star property at best on a good day. Clean and neat from the outside, but once you step inside you're back in the 80's full force. Overall quite "rough around the edges". To top it off, the staff at the front desk just stares at you as you open the front door and approach. I'm not big on the "HI sir, welcome to X" generic greetings, but it's quite creepy to see someone staring right at you and not saying a word. This wasn't just one particular person - over several days all of the front desk staff was equally unthrilling.
Once in the room, a pair of musty socks left to dry on a floor lamp shade glared at us. A used shower cap was still hanging in the bathroom. The towels were clean and the bed was made so at least there was that much.
We stayed in July 2024, and a tax-total rate of $320/night seemed quite steep but all the hotels ateound were high as well.

Needs upgrade to trims and entire hotel. Looks rundown.

Unnecessary wait for a room. Front desk could have cared less that we were both ill.Definitely not hospitality professionals. We staid two nights with no service not even to remove trash.

The staff and facility were friendly and professional.
The temperature in the check in area and breakfast area and hallways extremely warm.
Other than that it was good.

Property did not allow check-in before 4 p.m. As a result, there was a line out the door to check in at 4 p.m. It took us at least an hour to make it through the line.
Asked for fresh towels five times before we got them (the night before, in the morning as we left for the day, when we came back and noticed they weren't changed, a couple of hours later when we still didn't have them, and again when they still weren't brought up). I don't mind reusing my towel; however, the hotel needs to provide enough hooks to hang towels to dry.
We had to have our room card re-keyed several times. They finally suggested the door itself needed to be re-keyed.
Something was wrong with the electricity in the room. The bathroom light constantly brightened and dimmed. I couldn't get the outlet to work at one point so I re-set the outlet. The TV immediately went off. Additionally, there was a large hump in the shower area floor and the floor creaked over the tub.
The breakfast was good. It was what you'd expect of a hotel.
The room was larger than average with a separate room with a pull out loveseat-sized bed and desk.

Great location in Anchorage. Reception and staff first class. We had a delayed flight so a 5am check in. We rang through in advance and this was no bother. The staff were later really helpful when we realised we had left something in a taxi and assisted us in getting our belongings back. The hotel room is spacious with new carpets. Only downside would be the air conditioning is really noisy. The buffet breakfast is ok but feel all the disposable cutlery, plates and cups is wasteful and some non-ultra processed food options - fresh fruit, muesli, simple Greek yogurt - would be good.

Clean, spacious. A/C didn't work. We needed to come a day early due to wildfires and cancel one night. Manager refused to move one of prepaid nights to a different day and charged us more for the extra night. It was ridiculous.

Close to downtown with shopping and restaurants but in a neighborhood with a park across the street

The young man at the front desk was super friendly and kept a smile on his face even though he had a line out the door at check in time. He deserves a raise.

The bed sheets were not clean & had dirty stain on it, the toilet flush was not effectively flushing, shower knob to turn on & off water was outdated & not working properly & we didn’t have hot water from 2nd day.Maintenance was called in on 3rd day.
Front desk said that they have only one boiler.changed our room but it didn’t help much.Bathroom floor tiles were cracked, old. Our room key also was not working properly & they had to change it & give another key. The hotel definitely needs a lot renovation.

This property has no issue charging crazy high prices and not giving basics. There was NO hot water to be had this morning. When I called to see if it was broken or maybe we had an issue that others didn’t have; the man acted like I shouldn’t expect hot water in a hotel full of people and told me such. I mean when I spend almost 300$ for 1 night hot water would be an assumed perk. Booked with a known chain hoping to have a smooth easy experience. They failed to deliver

Comfy beds, but no shuttle from the airport.
2.0 / 5.0
Forget about asking for a late checkout. They only give you 15 min extra. And as for using the restrooms on the main floor if you’re waiting in lobby after checkout, they don’t work without a room key. The male at the front desk at time of checkout was less than pleasant. Needs retraining on customer service

Nice size room. The shower temp varies greatly. Sometimes I would need to have it all the way on hot just to get luke warm water and then randomly it would get extremely hot for a bit.

The only positive thing is the location. We were in Anchorage for the half marathon. The shuttle stop was right across the street and the finish line was in the park front of the hotel. Also downtown Anchorage is in a couple of blocks.
Negatives:
1) Our bathroom door needed a little DW40. It was fixed the night before we left (we stayed 4 nights). They did not clean up after the repair.
2) The bathtub faucet was leaking. Same as the door, it was fixed the night before we left and they did not clean up after the repair.
3) Check-in took forever. When we arrived, a group of 4 people were already in the process of check-in. We waited more than 30 minutes.
4) The worst: The hotel checked in another person in our room. Thankfully we were in the room, when she tried to open the door. The key worked, but we used the inside lock, she was not able to get in. We walked to the reception and told the clerk, what happened. He took the key from the girl and gave it to her back a couple of minutes later. We did not believe, that he just did it and asked him to take the key back. Nobody talked to us after the incident, no one contacted via email, text or phone. Nothing. It like nothing happened. Not even apology.
I would not recommend this hotel.

Delicious breakfast included with lots of options. The on site laundry room was very helpful to have as well since we pack light. 15 minute walk to downtown restaurants and activities.

Manager was terrible, stickler for her rules. No early check in even with all the rooms clean and housekeeping had left for the day. We were told by 1st shift we could check in at 2:30 PM, she said she didn't care, we could wait in lobby till 4:00 PM. Took the 2nd shift an hour to get logged in and set up for his shift. No late check out, even after told yes. Watched manager argue with several quests for no reason. No pool.

Friendly staff very helpful.
