About this house rental
La Grande Roche sits enthroned in a large wooded area of over 800,000 m² with an outdoor pool protected from view.
This comfortable house in the village of Saint-Clément-Rancoudray, on the border of the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park and Geopark, is named after the large rocks that form a beautiful backdrop to the two houses on the property. The location is perfect for exploring the large wooded area with a river and a lake. The house offers good comfort. Almost every bedroom has an en suite bathroom. The mix of traditional and modern, the warm colors and authentic elements convey harmony, peace and warmth and there is enough entertainment for hours of fun inside and outside. In the garden, the whole family will find enough space to play soccer, organize competitions and much more.
Saint-Clément-Rancoudray and the surrounding area offer a wide range of leisure and activity options, including the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park and Geopark, the village of potters, the windmills in the Sée valley, the disused Mortain railroad line for walks, the Fosse Arthour, a deep ravine carved into the rocks, and flea and antique markets. The property is also a great base for excursions to Mont-Saint-Michel, the Anglo-Norman islands or the renowned beaches at Granville. You can also visit the town of Mortain, famous for its collegiate church, Cistercian monastery and cascades.

Juste Parfait !

This is a very well run Gite with lots to do in the grounds and buildings.
As it is a conversion of an old farmhouse it is a bit dark and some of the appliances are a bit dated - but it all works.
There are loads of walks around the park and the old trails.
As you are in the country there are the usual flies and bugs to contend with but those who love nature will feel right at home.
We took our dog and it did not get on too well with the owners young Boxer dog (he was just a bit nosy vs angry) - the owner subsequently ensured her dog was kept away from the gite and its grounds.
We spent most of our time in the kitchen and the big lounge but all the bedrooms were well appointed with comfy beds in the double rooms.
The top room is perfect for younger kids to muck about in but could probably do with blinds on the veluxes to avoid waking up at first light.
If you want a big property to share with friends and family then this is a great option. It is really solid and so you would not have to worry about kids zipping about and breaking prescious antiques.

The property is large and well equipped, 4 bathrooms including a sauna! Clean and tidy, with lots of original character and lots of room to relax and cook. The games room was amazing and the close proximity to the secluded cycle path was a huge bonus. The above ground pool was clean though little used due to the weather. We hope to come back soon.
