Excellent location ,close enough to whatever you need and secluded enough to switch off and relax. Beautiful home with all mod cons and extremely spacious.

We enjoyed our week in Ireland and staying at this house made it all the more special! The layout of the house is perfect and so is the location. We used it as our home base to enjoy various parts of Ireland and returning to the house felt like coming home. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We hope to be back some day!

We only stayed for four days but really enjoyed the beautiful garden as well as the interesting light fixtures in the house. They gave everything such a homely feeling.
The area is very calm and good for people who are looking for mostly being in nature.
If you want to go sight seeing, you should consider the time it takes to get there.

Our house was truly a wonderful Irish experience. Residing in a historic, 500 year old farmhouse, and updated renovations indoors provided both the comforts of home as well as the Irish experience in the country. Home provided all the necessities (kitchen fully stocked and bath) required and was located in the perfect central location where we could daily trips (East, West, and South) to every coastal town/cliffs/castles/palaces; majority trips were anywhere from 30 to 90 minute drives. The hostess was so helpful prior to our arrival when we reached out due to a bad experience with a home further north for the beginning of our trip. Although she couldn't accommodate us earlier she helped us with new accommodations in the vacinity we were at. Our experience was wonderful and allowed us to enjoy Ireland without picking up and moving every two days. Highly recommend

Please don’t let anyone know about this gem. So charming and wonderful. We can’t wait to come back again. Lovely country setting, but near a town with a wonderful bakery. The pictures on the VRBO site don’t do it justice. And Diane is a delight. Thanks so much!

Perfect for the kids and the dog
We were delighted with our stay at The Old House. So handy for Kilkenny, Waterford etc. but also secluded enough to really get away from it all. The property has so much space I think our dog had the best holiday of all! Would highly recommend.

The Old House
Great house, well designed, great interior! More remote than we expected. More suitable for folks who like to “cook in”. Not much in the way of close places to grab a bite to eat...

A lovely country stay in a beautifully restored stone home
Our party of five greatly enjoyed our stay here. It was a real pleasure to stay in this home - everything is top notch. And the grounds are great place to go for a walk.

This house!!
This house is beautifully restored with a “in the middle of the Irish countryside” feel. We had a wonderful time touring Ireland and this house was nice to come home to. We even washed our clothes and hung them out to dry! True old Irish experience!!

Charming Rural Ireland At Its Best
We have just enjoyed a long weekend at this property - it is located in very rural Tipperary - but equidistant from a number of lovely sites - the Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle etc. The property is part of an old farm and located in a charming courtyard with a generous garden flanked by a stream. We loved it.

Irish Perfection in Tipperary
Diane Lanigan and her sister Breda and her brothers Richie and P.J. could not have done more for us to make us comfortable and at ease. They provided us with every amenity imaginable and with so much good will and care that we felt like royalty. We have decided that we should love to return another time to enjoy this wonderful "Old House" and its loving owners. The location serves many beautiful sights and historic places within easy driving distance.

Thanks Breda and Diane for renting your grand old home to us. Bob, Nancy, Rod and I had a wonderful time. The location was quiet, peaceful and great for day trips! The house is very spacious with plenty of privacy for all. Breda you went above and beyond what we ever expected from a home owner....you are the best! We all know we have a friend for life! Thanks and hope to see you again in the States, Mary 🥃🍽🎻

Our PERFECT week at "The Old House"
We spent 7 nights in March in this fabulous home. Our group consisted of 3 children and 5 adults, 3 being senior citizens. This home and property is beautiful and well maintained. The beds, bedding, kitchen, bath facilities were excellent. Our host Diane was available by phone and text and bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable and had our needs met. She provided history on the house and pictures of the remodel. When we had an issue with missing luggage being delivered she connected us with her family nearby and made arrangements for us to have luggage delivered there so we did not have to sit waiting all day. When we forgot something on departure she made certain it was returned to us in the states at her expense. That was above and beyond.
We traveled all over the country during our week in Ireland. One day we explored the Gold (eastern) coast as suggested by our host, we spent time in Killkenny, we went to Cork and Blarney, we did the Ring of Kerry, we travelled to the Cliffs of More and Galway, and took a day trip to Dublin. It was all doable from this home: we drove over 1400 miles!
We plan to come back and stay at this magical house. It will always hold a special place to us. We can't recommend it enough!

Cute home - secluded and charming
Diane was wonderful in communication. We were happy with the home - a little confused about how to handle trash and hope that we did okay with it.

Fantastic place
The old house was a really, really nice house, with everything we needed for our family-vacation, the little river down the garden was the most adorable piece of nature to look at.
Diane is such lovely , helpful varm person. We just asked, and right away she did everything to help us.
Kind regards from Peter & Sigrid

A quiet retreat in the heart of Ireland
A quiet retreat with all the basics. Nicely decorated. Being early March. It was cool when we arrived but the hot water radiators soon eliminated that. We snuggled under extra comforters from unused beds until the house warmed up. The TV and internet worked great. The showers and all the other appliances were also nice. The clothes washer was a small but great for us.
The location was great for the Rock of Cashel (my ancestors area) and Kilkenny but that means it is a bit of a drive to the west and north coasts. We are also used to more towels and a top sheet on the beds.
All considered, a wonderful experience!

So peaceful!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in The Old House. I’m sure the owners family has had lots of good times here as it was furnished for enjoyment! The space was open, warm and inviting! Everything was nice but not stuffy by any means. The sky lights were great letting in light as you needed but allowing you to close for a great nights sleep. Beds were very comfortable and host was easy to work with. If peaceful and relaxing are important to you then this is it! If you want hustle and bustle keep looking. We enjoyed our stay here tremendously. Wish our trip was just starting...

Interesting old home.
Lots of character in this old farmhouse. Great house for a larger family. It's in the country but close enough to places to eat. . I gave it 4 stars due to the fact that the linens, furniture and other touches seemed a little worn. With a little updating this place would be terrific. We enjoyed our stay.

Stunning old house
This place has been renovated beautifully with some really lovely features. Owners are delightful, organized and helpful. We only had 2 nights here, but it is a great place for a family or group of friends to stay. It is definitely secluded, and there isn't much in the village (which is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5), but it's an easy drive to Kilkenny or Carrick on Suir.

Wonderful "Old House"
What a wonderful place to stay on the last days of our Ireland vacation. The house was so unique in its age and amazing renovation. So comfortable and large. Breda and her niece's visit on the last night was so much fun learning about their family, their history, and the place. Thanks for sharing your time with us!
You could not go wrong choosing this wonderful place to spend part of your time while in Ireland.

Diane,
We’ve just gotten settled back home and we’re both already missing The Old House and the beautiful country of Ireland. I want to thank you for making things so easy in the planning stages. You understand so well that it’s a big decision to select a home to rent in another country. That said, we felt completely comfortable at every stage and you always responded to emails promptly.
The house itself is even better than it shows in the pictures and we were so comfortable there. We loved getting home from a long day of sightseeing and knowing the Old House would be there. My, (Diane), soaks in the big red claw foot tub after a long day were pure bliss. You and your sister have done an amazing job in renovating the house to have the modern conveniences without losing the wonderful history and character of the house. We’re looking forward to seeing pictures of the home before it was renovated.
The landscaping and natural setting of the house are beautiful and serene. We enjoyed snooping around the other old buildings on the property and on one beautiful evening I just lay on the grass by the stream and listened to the water and the birds. I loved exploring the old cemetery nearby..so peaceful there.
The unexpected bonus was being able to meet you and hear more of the history about the area, your family and the house. You were so much fun and getting to spend the evening with you and your cousin at a hurling match and later at your brother’s pub in Kilkenny was truly a blast for us. Thank you for making us feel a part of your family.
Thank you again for an amazing stay. I know we’ll be back and please know you are always welcome in Arizona.
All our best,
Diane and Paul

The home is lovingly restored by the owners and offers a secluded comfortable stay in the country. Our family enjoyed walking the property and the area. Kilkenny, Carric An Suir, Waterford and Cork are a short drive and the rest of southern Ireland is within easy reach. If you want to spend some peaceful time in a beautiful secure setting you cannot go wrong staying in "the old house"
The pictures although accurate can't really capture the beauty of the place and the people you will meet while there you'll remember for a lifetime.
